I mean like a prize for like 1k or 1.5k tickets or a 2nd place prize especially if he had over double what 3rd place had. It seems a little ridiculous that he only gets top25 when he was so much further ahead than everyone else, except Tam.

Well, the big prize was clearly for whoever got 1st place, not for second place. Even if he gets 2nd by only one point away from first place, he only deserves top 25 and top 250 prize. I'm not hating or anything, I just don't think they should bend the rules just because he spent more money than the guy in third place for the same top 25 prize. He got 2nd place, period. He gets to enjoy a very expensive top 25 prize, that's it.

The event splash screen said the prize goes to the strongest player. If Gree wants to change the prize rules to include a prize for, if you spend more than the others but don't win, supplementary prize it should say so in the rules.
Should the value of the new prize somehow reflect the value of the challenge , what happens if someone else had tried and was a few items short of the second place getter. Should there be a prize for them too?

If there is such a prize, it would be awarded retrospectively then all previous second place getters would be able to claim a consultation prize. I am sure those Fight Club players would be happy about that when they lost to TW Lui weren't they even closer in numbers to the winner?

I have a guy in the syndicate I am in that had 98 tickets and blew through another vault then ran out of time and received 0 more tickets. All he needed was a 4% drop rate as he refilled and gold opened 50 of them with a vault. Seems off to me and I certainly hope the top 2 had a better drop rate than that. And of course gree said tough luck.

I was told by BM that on opening with gold if your connection is poor it says can't connect to server. Lets make this clear. What is the result on a gold opening in case of bad connection. According to you it is 0 drop rate. And what BM said is mentionedd above.

This might be an android/iOS distinction.

For iOS, the following behaviours can occur when connectivity is an issue:
-BLNT/booby prize, for cash/gold, as mentioned when the game is connected but there is poor connectivity (so some connection but the data cannot travel in time to meet whatever window, as far as I understand it)
-BLNT on gold opens when attempting to open a "phantom case" (used to happen routinely with the double-dropping of cases, now happens when connectivity issues lead to incorrect display of cases - essentially displayed case numbers don't reduce upon the opening of cases)
-error message if there is no connection at all.
