View Full Version : Is the "group chat" function in Line the best way to communicate within a guild?

I think there is a limit of 20 people for a group. Obviously a lot of guilds have more than 20 members.

So how do you make it work? Do you create multiple groups?

Thanks!

In my guild, only 12 people have Line, the others don't bother even after lots of asking and repeating.

Except there isn't a limit for "Groups".

What you have is a regular chat box with someone and you invited a bunch of people, not an official 'Group'. An official group gets listed under 'Groups' on Line, above your 'Friends'.

Gkick is a great way to inspire downloading Line

^^^ What he said. Boot em. They will either join or aren't active enough to give a care :)

It's more than half the guild though. Gonna be hard to replace them with active players.
Besides that, I'm not the person to make such decision. I'm just the forum guy of my guild, and High Commander.

If its more than half the guild, so what? Unless they are super active and you don't want to kick them. If they are also super active and want to continue to grow, they can take the couple seconds it takes to download and setup an account and get Line. Otherwise, kick them. It will be beneficial in the long run.

Its like someone raiding in an MMO and saying "well, I don't have vent/teamspeak, so type out the boss strategies each time for me cause I don't want to bother to download it." That person is kicked from the raid in seconds and replaced by someone else willing to do it.

Buster, you made me want to raid again :( we should use vent for next guild war.

If it's over half the guild, all the more reason to Gkick 1-3 & say "DL Line or you're next"

Like busteroaf said... the long run. You will lose a core of guys who might contribute some gold and clear some quests but over the next couple weeks you will slowly fill those spots. People in guilds want activity and leadership. Your best players will eventually leave if your leaders dont get this. Perhaps Alliance, Unicorns co guild, DK co guild, or Forsaken 2 a better place for you if changes do not occur in your guild :)

IMO any guild that isnt 100% on Line (or a similar but probably worse chat service) probably has zero chance of ranking high in guild wars.

I doubt I can join any of those, I'm only a level 82 after all ^^; I'm active and I do level once every two days, so maybe in the near future, but I don't think anyone wants me.

Geeesh, I feel like your the younger brother who needs a friend. lol. You never know :) Good active admin type guys are rare commodities in guilds. Give yourself some credit.

Psh. Like Inkjets said... don't sell yourself short, you never know. I applied to RR on a whim and wasn't anywhere close to 100. Despite the brash "internet/keyboard gangster" image many portray, there are plenty of people who genuinely don't mind helping if people are willing to listen. You sound like you have your head on your shoulders, and are looking to do the right things, getting people active in group chats and such, you're active on the forums, people notice that. Even a sub-guild for many of these groups is a good starting spot vs. a guild that is floundering due to inactivity, or lack of want to join the masses. Give it a shot.

Your first step should be switching to IOS. I hear those Android knights are....

To add to this. I made my own guild when they first came out and it floundered. I really didn't think I had much to offer except for dedication, a decent knowledge pool, and a few 3*. TeeWin got me into a top 15 guild with him, and now I'm a high commander. There are a lot of very high up guilds that are constantly removing people for inactivity. People stop playing every day, for one reason or another, and high level guilds aren't immune to the real world affecting it's members. Anyone who wants to be in any guild, has nothing to lose from applying, and everything to gain. What's the worst that can happen? You end up exactly in the same position?

Started as a question if Line's the best way to communicate for a guild, ended up being a complete discussion about what I should do with my current guild.

Thanks for all your advice though! I'll have a look and see if there's any place for me in a better guild.

We are 100% on line, and we did 16 spots better than we did when only 50% were on line. #13 instead of #29, that's a big jump

Not big enough! KoF Forever!!

No seriously it's a big deal. We fought pretty hard for #12, and while I don't remember what guild got #13, I do remember that they were only about 50k below us. That's only one battle.

I would try to switch to majestic alliance or unicorn 2, except I dont gem and I would feel bad leaving my guild. I've been with them since the beginning.

It sucks we can't apply for a guild while in a guild. Sucks to have to leave a guild not knowing if you will be accepted into another guild

Uh, you could totally apply for a guild while still in another. You just can't do it "in game." Once you get accepted you leave and they either invite you or you "apply" using the button.

Its just like a job. You can totally go job hunt while still employed.

I think any guild that doesnt have an efficient way of communication such as Line will never reach its full potential.

Few things in life are certain. This may be one of those things.
