View Full Version : Question: why are android and apple segregated?
It doesn't make sense to me that android players cant compete against their apple competitors. I don't read the forums much, so I am guessing this question has probably already been asked and answered in some thread somewhere, but it really doesn't make much sense. The game should be device independent, with all the stats etc being stored on a gree server, why the devision?

Modern War... Crime city are on the same servers... We are still waiting for Kingdom Age on android by the way...
But the question is legitime !! I have got many friends who plays KnD on apple and I can't play with them...

I think it wouldbe a lot of hard work and cost a lot for Gree to switch them over. I personally like only playing against Android. I think the Android community is much kinder and cheerful. They are also less competitive, which I like.
Because of the differences in the operating systems, for one. Also, it's a lot easier to 'hack' on an Android than iOS, so there will be far more 'cheaters' on Android.
The difference in operating systems shouldn't really matter if all the relevant data is stored serverside. There are tons of multiplayer games that are device independent for example, words with friends, candy crush, asphalt 8. They must be doing something different to the vast majority of games out there that don't care what device you use.

It's probably too late right now to really make that happen. iOS has better armors on average and thus has advantages on all the leaderboards.

I agree, at this point, making one server for both IoS and android would be a little late, just keeping them to themselves is a good idea, I'd just like to stick to android

I wouldn't want to fight the IOS players, LOL.
Just look at the latest GW scores, the #1 IOS guild scored just under 12 mil pts. The #1 Android guild scored 4.4 mil. pts.
Fair call. What about the ability to play your account from multiple devices though? For eg I would love to be able to play on my account using my phone when on the bus. Both my Phone and tablet are iOS, there should be no reason why i cant. Or what about the silly need for support to have to manually transfer your account if you change your phone for eg. These limitations are also related to the obscure way they have coded this game.

If android and ios are the same... android's #1 guild wouldn't even make it into ios top-10...

What competition brings out of you? Typically in the case of Guild Wars its called "money". Money is what it will bring out of you. The grand Android top guilds would then be sucked into the money war.
But, looking at the way the threads on the forum read, they'd still be hailed as champions and the defenders of all that is good and holy... all while competing in a big money spending spree with everyone else from iOS. Yup. Seems right.
time to start a new thread :p
:P but they are all interrelated because they are caused by the same poor game design/architecture. Fix one and they will all be fixed. :)
