View Full Version : Guild war length
Anyone else think the length of the war was a bit long? Personally speaking I think 2 days is a good timeframe for the war.

Personally i thought it was a great length of time. It allowed people who had work or school or other activities to still participate in a bunch of wars and allowed the avid players to "get their fix"

Same length as all gree games so there prob not gonna change it but did feel a little drained at the end of day 2 prob because of the combo of this and crime city

The timeframe for this war was ok , it let everyone make it. But I do hope every war isn't like this. I'm of the opinion that gree should host a few four hour wars. At a few different times for a wider timezone customer base. With legendary plus or lower as rewards to entice lower/smaller guilds to compete in that higher level guilds would ignore while restocking for a monthly three day epic slogfest.
A weekly or bi weekly four hour war with rewards more in line with working up ones ledgendary satus and the 2nd one a fusion stone war for leveling . Keeps everyone happy and saves epic reward for epic effort.

I think biggest problem with the 3 day war is it ends during work/school day for anyone in America or similar time zones on monday morning/afternoon, would be much more convenient if the end time was sometime during the weekend.

I think I'm for a mix of the two. I really enjoyed the 4 hour fusion boost war. It was light easy and fun. But the epic nature of this longer war was cool too, although it is draining. But who are we kidding here, GREE made a ton off of this, and they are coming back for more.

Maybe 1 day mini wars with rewards like max lv70+ armors ready to use then follow by lv50/70, then lv35/70 etc... would be good for smaller guilds that would gain and have fun.
And add in fusion stones or gold.

I would'nt mind an option for Guilds to duel each other either. Something to settle disputes or skirmish, without the distraction of fighting all the other guilds. The format for one hour duels.could be just like the battles in the bigger wars.

Would love a one day or 2 day war. 3 days was just too long.
I would love more of the 4 hour wars for boost, fusion stones and keys.
Thanks

My GF advised that a three day war is too long, so it must be. Right?

I think a 3 day war every 2 months should be more than enough as it is draining you mentally as well as your credit card ;).
4 hour or 1 day wars at the week-end would be best for players...but seeing how much money gree made from this war, they will just keep it going like this.

Issue with monthly wars is that it is going to cause some form of burnout I think. Plus the powercreep issue would be a problem if newer and better epics are released on a monthly basis.
A 3-day war every 2 months sounds about right to be honest.
4 hour wars are tough on certain timezones unless the starting time is rotated. 1 day wars sound more doable.

I agree 100% Skilless. I have to believe that is an issue for most everyone. I think the war starting mid day Friday (western timezones) and ending on Sunday night would be absolutely perfect. It provides that feeling of the full, drawn out war, with a full last day battling to the end. Instead going through a long sunday only to have a few hours into monday (work/school/etc) just for a few people left to hang on. That also takes away from guilds grinding that last day out together and standing there at the finish line, winning or losing...TOGETHER! As a team. Just as it started.
As it should be.
(edit) P.S. I'm also for 4 hour wars. My ideal would be one weekend and one 4 hour war per month. Staggered by 2 weeks

What about a 2.5 day war? Or 3.2 day war?
I'm sure Gree has done its research in the area based on other similar games and found 3 to be best for them.
Even 3 means those that are in different time zones should have a "general" same amount of weekend free time to spend their gems during that 72 hour time span. And remember, while most people have weekends off, many do not. Having sunday as that last "full day" to play doesn't apply to everyone. Which is why I feel they made it start/end before/after the "traditional weekend", to give those that might not have that luxury, the extra time.
Also, as far as that last few hours monday being unimportant? I would think any guild jockeying for position would beg to differ. Some guilds would have been higher, some lower based on those last few wars on Monday. So, no matter what time frame you chose, you will screw someone while making another one happy, one way or the other. Do you screw the guild that makes the last minute push by ending early or screw the guild that make their push early?

Wars need to occur every six weeks at the most and they should end Sunday night. No need to extend these things into Monday morning.
Having wars every month would be ludicrous and frankly, I would get burned out fast.
Not only that but we have instances where guilds could win stuff that supersede the prizes they won from the last war. In other words, leveling up an armor mid-way only to discover they won something better a few weeks later, making the previous armor almost obsolete even before they could level it up and use it.

Honestly it should start like Friday at 5PM and end at Sunday at Midnight. MUCH better hours for a lot of people. Having it start and end when the majority of people are at school or work is just plain stupid.
Also a war every 5-6 Weeks would be ideal with a 4 Hour War somewhere in between that time frame, not back to back wars like it was for Android.
And lol at Tachycardia, one of our Guildmates pulled over and did the exact same thing.

Actually every eights weeks would be better. Each war would feel new and with it more enthusiasm to win and participate.
This isn't modern war or crime city where prizes can used immediately, people need time to level that junk up and actually feel good about using something they won.

Considering not everyone is in the same timezone, your timezone, the statement is inaccurate. 5pm for you is 5am for someone else. Having the war start and stop at different times benefits those in only a few timezones. Unless of course your entire guild is one timezone, and you are only in war with other guilds composed of members in the same time zone as you. Then it could be considered fair.
By extending it for 3 full days, 72 hours, as I said before, it allows everyone that chance at "ideal weekend free time" to play. Since this is a world wide game, is it not? And not everyone works/goes to school M-F 9-5.

I'd rather all wars be in intervals of 24 hours. 3 days was too long and 4 hours was too short(unfair). 48 hour wars would be my preference, 24 hour wars are okay too.

3 day wars are just too long. The cows with the milk will dry up. Then again the cows with the milk may not decide to participate every war if they are once a week...
They need to try various times - I still like the short wars - 4hours now and then.

i feel as tho it would have been better if it ended on sunday night or sunday during the day, instead of monday, most people are heading back to work or school on monday anyways so its hard for most to play.
The problem with four hour wars is that it is to short to cater to people in other timezones. I like the idea of only having a big war every couple of months and mini wars in between, but would suggest 12 hours - 1 day wars to make it fair on the non US player base.

I don't have an issue with 12 hours, regardless of 12, 24, 36, 48, and Etc... The last two hours is mad dash to win. The longer the war the longer the investment and some time zone will be at disadvantage. 4 hours can be rotated to different start times to accommodate different times. Without the fatigue of a long war.
I would love to have a tournament type war. Based on time zones to cover maybe 4 hours at a time. So US time would be EST to PST. If you choose to participate in the US tournament. You would be pitted against only one opponent for 2 hours at at 8 or 9pm. If you win you go up in rank and play another guild that won if you lose you play another guild that lost. However there would be NO refills. After a week time the number 1 guild would need to have the best win record and the most point totals. And the rest of the ranks would determined from W/L and points also.
At the end of the week you would have only fought 7 guilds.
