View Full Version : PvP News Feed Issue

Just curious if this is happening to any other players, as it's happened to me numerous times, a few members of my syndicate, and some of the people I PvP with. My news feed keeps shrinking randomly. Sometimes I can stack up like 20 or so in my feed, then it drops down to like 5, with only the few on top remaining. Other times it will only hold maybe 10 people or so, deleting the bottom as it fills. Once, it dropped me down to 3 in my news, then filled up to 7, and dropped me down to 1!? Whats going on here? Is this a GREE tactic to try to eliminate PvP buddies?

The newsfeed is deliberately shorter during PvPs. I'm fairly sure you're noticing this shrinkage upon closing/reopening your game.

I figured as much, but it happens randomly. I can close my game for over an hour and open to find my feed the same, then close it and come back 10 minutes later to find most of it gone.

Multiple events are stacked into 1 item. Your news feed is 60 items long, but this could be anywhere from 3 to 60 diplayed events. It is always like this.
edit/ Actually that was just considering attacks. If someone robbed your whole hood your newsfeed could be 1 displayed item.

Really? So, let's say my whole newsfeed is green right now, and I see ten different people have failed attacks on me. Does that mean they each averaged 6 attacks on me before realizing they couldn't punch through an attack?
The main reason I thought the newsfeed shortening was specific to PvPs is that I've noticed a couple times now losing the bottom half of my newsfeed at the start of the PvP even though I've yet to be attacked/robbed.

If it's shortened intentionally, and standard, it's not shortened by much. I'll keep an eye on it and check, but I'm definitely well over 30 just from atks, and generally the robs when my 1s come up are a lot of events rolled into 1.
/edit - and I'm pretty sure it's not all green right now. ;) At 184 a hit it'll go full green soon enough, tho.

Try closing and reopening your game after you feel your newsfeed is a bit long-- I feel like I get to keep the items on my feed until I have to close my game, and it's shortened when I reopen it later.
You lost me on the last bit, are you saying someone hit me for 184 points?
And I'll have you know, bald zeemer, that I have a very dedicated individual doing his best to keep my newsfeed entirely green. This guy:

Ahh, that is probably it. I just got my game back from a transfer, I won't be closing it for quite a while. :p
And if your green is from your stalker then it is entirely possible it's averaging 6 per hit.
I dropped by just to see what you were paying. Clearly your feed doesn't last very long at the moment (not a huge surprise, but I'd hoped you'd at least see it.)
edit/ since I'd visited my entire feed I closed and reopened the game. You're definitely right. That resets it at an amazingly low number of items.

Oh, I haven't been playing in the last few hours, so if you were saying you were the one that hit me (recently, I presume), I have yet to see it.
A frightening thought, however.

Edit: probably shouldn't have posted about my green newsfeed. Since that post, I've received plenty of red. I hope that's merely a coincidence.

Yup, you're in the tank, at least for PvP.
