I believe this guy is full of it, or the luckiest man in CC history. I have never heard of any free player making 10/10 in one day, let alone being 5/8 on other goals. I wonder where he is on the mini goal, the other 3 items you need to get the tesla.

I had a similar thing happen to me on my camper, only it cost me 240 gold to get the quick getaway. I too only needed the one more item, I think it was the explosive. Best part was I had 15 gold left and one more open before event ended, I hit cash on accident and thank the CC gods I ended up getting it.
I know that pales in comparison to 66 gold opens, but wanted to share that "last item" frustration and the relief/happiness that ensues after you get it, finally.



For this event it cost me around 500 gold and won them in the first 3 hours. I kind of wish I was more patient, but I didn't want to leave good items like that to chance. Mostly resets with cash opens and a few resets and gold opens, when I got a few fails in a row.
Pretty good when you compare it to LTQ; much less gold, very little XP and better stats with a mod no less. So IMO it's worth the gold if you're a gold user.

On LTQ - energy is fungible. In the long run doing it instantly costs exactly the same as doing it over the full period, if you finish all LTQs.

On open-10s. It used to be entirely possible to miss out, even when using gold, to do it in the final hours. And since it now only costs half a vault, why not keep up the tradition? I certainly am not a patient man, and having to live my life tied to hourly timers for 5 days is significantly more of a hassle than the cost of half a vault. Hell, I'd do it if it cost me 10 vaults.

Yes, I agree. I can conclusively debunk the IP myth(s), and I intend to do so soon enough-- I've kept track of all of my gold hits when I was at home for the past 5-6 wars, which is thousands of hits.

The one reason I haven't done so already is that I am still unsure if it is truly level difference, or what I now think is more likely, which is XP difference. It's hard for me to tell because when I was low level (100-ish), I was dumping gold on targets around level 170+, which is obviously overkill. Last war I was L207-209, and I spent my gold on all L250 targets, and averaged the same amount of points overall as I always do (~422ish, with +25% IP bonus). That's the main problem with the data I recorded, since I only spent gold on really high level players, though from recollection I can remember being level 100-ish and thinking 40 levels isn't enough for max points (whereas it obviously is when the difference was L210 to L250). I am unsure when to expect diminishing IP even upon attacking L250 targets, though soon, I presume.

It certainly ties in with sub-30 level differences (is that hyphen-ised correctly?) providing at-or-near max IP bonuses.

Less importantly it ties with anecdotal evidence that single level-ups had minimal to no impact on IP.

Make sure you have a solid internet connection before doing a cash open. The 10/10 hatchet item is worth far more than the Tesla Supercar-- the modifier is key.

I got the Gein's Baretta and the Tesla sportscar. I got the last hatchet about 10hrs ago. And the last item for the Bloody Murder about 20hrs ago.
