View Full Version : Guild Medal Awarding and Tracking

Some in my guild have noticed that guild medals aren't updating (at least some of the time). In my case, I got two MVP Defeat Monster medals three days ago (on the same day) and another yesterday, but the instances of the medal remain at one. Someone else in my guild got 4 MVP ribbons in one day a few weeks ago and they never appeared.

Semi related, the indications for MVP and 2nd place (blue shield) for a task jump around and often display the wrong info. Example would be in my latest monster task. I had about 100 kills and someone had about 80 for second place. I checked again at 150 kills and 2nd place now indicated a different player with under 10 kills. AFAIK, this second player remained in the 2nd place spot until the end of the task even though several other players had higher kill counts. Unknown if it was awarded to him.

Anyone else seeing goofy behavior here?

I noticed that the tracking has been odd. Some of the times I'm noted as MVP, and the #2 is well behind me (e.g. We need 20.000 tournament points, I have 3.000 and the player B has 1.000). When the guild quest is over, some other guy from my guild gets the MVP medal, while I've been noted #1 all the time! Really annoying..

I have the same problem as well. This seems like a really basic issue to address.

I am experiencing the exact problems from above... wish I could know who was really in first and second. Thought I was going to win a few only to find out I wasn't in first as indicated. The medals also show up (or don't) randomly it would seem.

Your medals were awarded to spandex sheep. Case closed.

It doesn't show MVP or the second place person. It shows you and another person. I thought it's something so obvious that after a couple quests, everyone could see that.

After a few quests? What are you getting at?

Anyways, you're right it shows you and another person, but when you're not even close to being the MVP of a guild quest, it shows you (with a blue shield) and the person who has the highest points at the moment (with the mvp shield behind their name). These numbers are off though, and most of the time the person shown as the 'mvp at that moment' isn't even the person with the highest amount of points for the guild quest... So the tracking is off

That it's obviously not working as intended....so yes, the tracking is off. It's never worked as intended.

Are you trying to act smart? That's the point of this thread: getting to know if other people encounter the same problem, and hoping that The Wise One gets to know about this to do something about it.

You do know there's a bug thread that brings up all these bugs, right? Sorry, but if you play on iOS and haven't figured out what has been working or what hasn't since it's been brought into the game...then I just don't know what to say to you.

Your sorry is a start.

And to be honest, not a lot of things on this game works as it should. That is on IOS, I don't know about Android. I don't get the feeling they really look at that bug thread. Some things should be easy fixes (like the problems we adressed in this thread). It's just the way they coded it is off. Nothing wrong with making a thread about this, to look who else encounters the same problem.

That was exactly my intention. If I'm the only one seeing a problem, or a very small percentage of the player base is affected, then it's almost a don't care on the part of the devs. If 100% of us are seeing the problem, it would likely get bumped up a notch or two on the priority list.

In any case, I believe I'm within the posting guidelines on the two threads I created. I don't think I'm the only one who learned something from them, and the many other 'bug/suggestion' threads that appear here. Frankly, I wonder what this forum would look like if these types of threads didn't get started. The only unhelpful comments I've read here have largely been of the "OMG, the information you want is buried on page 73 of the blah blah blah thread" variety. Threads people find helpful remain active and others fade away to collect dust on page 2 and beyond. :)

It's buried on page 3 because of threads like this from the past week.

I doubt any bit of logic will get through to you. I've read your posts on this account and a fair bit of the posts of SoloStar, which I presume was you as well. You can be a bit of a troll at times, others you add great insight.

I've also read though The Wise One's non-broadcast posts. One of my favorites thus far:

I try to read every post, but yes, any thread with aggregate feedback and data is very helpful.

Another:

I have always felt that the forum is the best place to get information from the community and a great way for players to voice their opinions. I will be actively communicating with you, my fellow knights, and the developers to make sure that we have an open communication with one another.

I will try and be as interactive as possible within this community and very excited for us to get to know one another. Last but not least, LETS HAVE SOME FUN!

I think what solo is trying to say is that the forum would have been more organized if the threads made were more generic just like how it was back then. Previously, before all kinds of threads started popping up, there was a thread dedicated to Q&A, suggestions, and bug feedback. Like this, all the important threads were almost always on page one. As a result, threads that discussed game strategy, or certain calculations or tactics, were on page one so that it was easily viewed by everyone, while also having the threads for Q&A, suggestions, and bug feedback as I've listed previously.

I understand the sentiment, what I still kind of wonder is what would that look like? We have the (wonderful) ask any question thread, the suggestion / bug fix thread, armor leveling and fusion results threads, a few nice FAQs, and the datasheet admin thread. Probably 90% or better of our posts could be accurately dumped into these 8 or so threads.

But what would that look like today?

I wonder what the feedback to the "Immediate Necessary Guild War Changes" thread would be if it had been 'properly' posted in the suggestions / bug fixes? Instead of 23 pages of support and/or constructive criticism on its own thread all specific to guild war feedback, it would have been tucked away among other suggestions and bug report messages. The original post would be there, and be read by the devs I'm sure, but I believe a lack of player feedback on the topic would be evident. It'd be rather difficult to explore several (or dozens of) ideas at once over multiple pages on the same thread.

After nearly 4 months online, the android version of the suggestions / bug fixes is still only 18 pages long. It acts more as a suggestion box rather than a mechanism for targeted discussion. Useful for some things certainly, but I don't think 'all' suggestions and bug reports should go there. If the admin folks think otherwise, it should probably be stickied and a line added to the posting guidelines... but we already have 11 stickies. That's a lot of stickies.

Anyway, I've continued to take this off topic. Apologies. :)

Bump it. I see lots of points floating all around, and I don't wish to address any in particular, except to say that indvidal threads for particular problems give significance (or a lack there of) to the problem being discussed. For example: the Make Dragon Nests Useful thread got lots of views and posts in a short time, remained on the top of the forums for a while, and then boom! the next update saw them improved. It was clear the community cared about that particular issue. Gree responded. If it was in a thread of compiled ideas there would have been no way to see the response of the community to that particular issue.

In this case, I sure wish this would be fixed, so bump bump bump

And you're wrong there. The most helpful topic of the forum is "Data Sheet Administration" and it often ends up on page 2 or 3, since the useful info is just there in the topic starter post and there isn't often a need to make a new post to that topic.
