Android / Factory data reset.

Quick question.. hoping one of you might know.. If I do a factory data reset on my android will it give me a new I.D. and be treated as a new device.. or stay the same? Just don't want to have to jump through Gree(dy)s hoops.. :-(

Im pretty sure that if its still the same phone you wont get a new ID after a factory reset because it uses the IMEI which would only change with a different phone.
