I doubt I make it anywhere close to 43 (got to 22 on Leviathan) but should I try and max another Crius out or just rely on my friends for this one? I'm working on the Misty Marsh for a Swamp Shaman armor so getting/farming/leveling an Infernal Lord seems out of the question for this week.

Don't bother with a second crius, I don't think you'll reach 43 even with that.

The fact that Gree has decided to boost the stats of mono armors in comparison to dual element armors basically makes up for their one weakness - lacking behind in stats because of the mono armors only recieving 1 element boost. Now, armors like these are just as good as dual armors.

Yes, occasionally the boss can drop 5 EE. Drops are more common at the early levels than at the later levels, but they are able to drop at all levels! Over the 43 successful battles I did last week, I think I had 7 or 8 EE drops.

It's more of a luck thing. Ending with special attacks doesn't seem to affect it I believe.

I love mono element armors. You can consider a fully leveled mono+ boss armor as a permanent nemesis armor. When you have to go up against 5 solid weeks in a row of dual element bosses that have cross elements, and you can only do 150% damage without taking an extra 50%, you'll be happy you had the option of having that armor that is useful in multiple situations.

Not to mention the stats on these monos is pretty good.

Are mono armors considered boss fighting only armors ? If not, please explain how this will be useful in arena considering the number of earth based armors there. Wouldn't armors like Phyrus, Clayplate, or even Infernal+ be very efficient against this ?

I have a choice of two legendaries to use for my main knight this week - Assassin's Shroud or Phyrus. AS is balanced, Phyrus is more skewed to attack.

At level 18 (the highest level where I am confident that one knight can do it) Phyrus came out as likely to do more damage, though surviving fewer hits.

I'll probably keep Phyrus on my main and put AS on my second, as I like seeing those big special hits going in.

While obviously not ideal, I was able to solo through 13 with a lvl 68 swamp shamans robes... Don't really have any good earth at the moment, but was surprised at how well the armor performed.

I was able to solo with my Infernal+ until level 13. On 14, after a couple of misses, the boss survived with about 1000 HP left.
Based on this, I am pretty confident I can solo on level 15 as well. I may try solo on 16 if I feel adventurous tonight :)

You probably won't be able to solo level 15 considering how level 15 is way harder than the level 14 boss since it's a reward tier. Going in with two knights would be better.

Wait, I always get confused which level is which. I meant to say I was able to solo up to the level before the rewards. To get the mats reward, I had to do it in 2 runs with a single knight (1st run was a close call).

For the next level, I am confident I can do it with 1 again, since it will not be as difficult as the reward level.

If you defeated level 14 with one knight solo, you should be able to complete levels 16 and 17 with one knight also. Usually.

My example is my fight this week. Using AS+ maxed, I had 25% hp left when defeating him at level 14. After defeating him at level 17 I had 20% hp remaining. However, if level 16 has you at less than 90 hp when you finish him off, you should most likely take another guy with you for 17. (especially when counting in misses and crits that aren't in your favor.)

If you can pass lvl 15 with just one armour, it stands to reason that you should be able to get all the way to 19 with just one armour, since the lvl 15 boss has a pseudo level of 19 (I think)

Except that the arena is already flooded with so many earth based armors. Would you wear this armor to face a lvl90 guy wearing a Phyrus or Clayplate ? What about the new Tectonic ? :)

Not nerfed. There are so many powerful earth based armors out there that can defeat this boss without breaking too much sweat. There were limited amount of strong air based armors to fight last week's boss.

Yeah nemesis helps a lot during the early to mid levels, even a little in the higher levels too.

When you're done, use it to fuse, enhance or whatever you want, keep it if you like the looks even.

In this case I would say that low to mid level players should keep the nemesis armor for normal use because of the great stats for a 50 armor.

With the stats that these are coming to now a days, it is probably useful even into the later levels of the epic boss, I mean 950 def? Id be looking at almost 1.5k atk and def using a nemisis armor, that does 3x the damage

I got a few 5EE in the early levels and after lvl 20 i didn't get any 5EE at all .... seems like at higher level the chance of getting energy is really small ....

Got lots of energy drops in levels 1-10, i killed him 14 times first of running out of fuel.
Now i had drops at 34,35 and 36! I never got streaks of drops at level 15+... And about the special attack, i see that my boss drops more shards than the normal slammed ones.

I think the reason he gives so many energy early on is to get to the friend recruiting faster and make it more likely you'll get to a later stage where you will spend gems.

I have to disagree.
If you're at a point where you need friends to beat any level up to 21, then you aren't capable of beating 43 without gems regardless of drops. By the time I got my first EB+ I was taking up till boss level 17 with one knight. Discounting 15 needing a second of my own guys.

To follow the topic though. I got EE drops at 34 and 37 this time around. Last boss I got one at 42. It's very rare, but they do happen.

Got another drop at level 40... And using a special finisher the boss dropped two potions on 41. I will carry on the special attack research. I think the first epic boss plus becomes obtainable when you will be 100 + whit almost 10 good friends and whit elements against almost two of the big four being good.

My point was that it both hastens and extends the later, higher, levels. If you are likely to spend gems, that is when you will do it. If someone is willing to spend gems to get to 43, Gree is happy to make that more likely.

I have to beat it the 28th time. I beat the 27 with 5 knights. Should I do 4/3 considering that I have 2 nemesis friends with 1200 atk and 2 nemesis friends with 800 atk?

You could always wait for when you're higher leveled and have better armors. There's no rush to get the epic boss armor considering you only have the big 4 and you're level 61 at the moment. I'd say it's a better idea to use those gems to max your training fields instead, though if you have already done so, go ahead and summon the boss if you really can't wait.

I haven't kept my signature updated >_< I'm level 81 with all of the big 4 maxed and my Swamp Shaman+ Is at 45. I have all my Training Fields gemmed except the ones for the 2mil expansion (1mil expansion just finished).

I've been advancing about 1 reward tier per week on the epic bosses, but since you get some extra keys for having the + version I figured it might be worth spending some gems on it.

You kind of have to, if you want good armors. Go ahead and play the game without any +armors and see how you perform in the Arena, Wars and against Epic Bosses.

If you want to participate in Beast Brawl, to get more free keys and the cape you will have to craft + version of this armor and the next one. (http://www.funzio.com/forum/showthread.php?66126-Boss-Collection-Beast-Brawl-I)

Specifically for this boss armor, I would only craft the + version to get the above free keys :) Since there are so many strong earth element armors out there, I do not see how this mono wind armor will get you very far in Arena. Also, vs epic boss, this armor usefullness is only limited against water based bosses.

In general, for epic boss and story based armors, I agree with Musketeer. Plus versions or go home.
