View Full Version : Suggestion for whoever has editing rights to this spreadsheet

I think everyone on this forum knows and loves this spreadsheet, otherwise known as The Holy K&D Bible (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0AiQKRFnZ9_jpdEFtUUVnd2dQM1ZIX2IxT1RNZVlval E)
My suggestion to the person who has rights to edit the spreadsheet.
For the sake of making comparisons between like armours easy, rather than ordering the elements based on where they feature on the armour (see Aegis of the Fallen and Living Flame armours), order such that one element "ranks" first in the ordering so will always be the first element. The next element will rank first when paired with any other element other than the first and so on.
So for example.
Rank:
1) Fire
2) Spirit
3) Earth
4) Air
5) Water
Therefore for Living Flame, the first element is Fire and the second Spirit. (Currently Spirit/Earth)
For Aegis of the Fallen, the first element is Fire and the second is Spirit
For Assassin's Shroud, the first element is Sprit, followed by Earth
For Chimera Corp Uniform, the first element is Spirit, followed by Earth. (Currently Earth/Spirit)
This way, by filtering on Spirit and then Earth, you will see ALL the Spirit / Earth armours, and you won't have to do Spirit/Earth filter and then Earth/Spirit filter.
For example, there are 4 armours that are Fire/Water and there are 3 armours that are Water/Fire. But all 7 have the same dual elements, so it makes more sense to be able to filter them so that it views all 7 armours at once, rather than having to do one set and then the other set.
I hope that makes sense!
The difference is because the elements are ordered differently in-game, I believe. For instance, one armor will have the earth symbol first on the graphic and spirit second. The other armor may have the same elements, but it will graphically show the spirit first and the earth second.
I don't know if it is speculation or proven at this time, but while browsing threads, I saw a statement that this may affect fusing for those armors. For instance, an armor that displays spirit then earth may require the spirit to be added to the left side of the fusion and the earth on the right.

Nope. Infernal and spectral, and the spectrail and infernal, gave me like 3-4 flamehunters.
Ok, so the order conversation was just speculation. Thanks for confirming that Sakino. I wasn't sure and hopefully my previous comment communicated that.
As to the way they are listed in the armors data spreadsheet, I do believe that was accurate though.

Lotak is right. Even though in game they are in different order, for the purposes of the spreadsheet, there should be a set pattern for filtering purposes. Also, new armors shouldn't be placed in the armor tab until the stats are confirmed. Blazeborne+ is wrong. Don't know how that got through.

I apologize if I came across wrong. I wasn't implying that it needs to stay the way it is. I was just attempting to explain why I believe they did it that way. Obviously, if it was me personally, I wouldn't look forward to the work it would take to re-align all that, lol. I really appreciate all the work that has already gone into it, as I am sure you guys do too.

I wasn't directing my post towards you, Sifu. I was just saying it in general, as it would make it better for players using it as a tool for fusion possibilities.

In-game visual order does make the spreadsheet kind of usable for "what was that air/water armor I did just fight against?" lookups, though hopefully the wiki should at some point be better for such things...
And also here a poke: whoever seems to have disabled anonymous viewing of the spreadsheet, please turn it back on. (at least I'm getting google docs login screen on 2 different browsers on my laptop and I prefer not having to look up my password for my google account to be able to view the spreadsheet... :( )

First, the settings are:
Anyone (no sign-in required): Can View
That is what it says in the sharing of the spreadsheet. So why it's asking you to sign in, it must be a google thing (or the specific link in OP's post - use the one in my signature). I noticed when I clicked on the link in OP's post, it looked like it does when I'm viewing it on my iPhone so it may not be correct or Lotak copied it from his iPhone.
Second, the stats for Blazeborne were given somewhere, either in the Data Admin thread, or by PM. I can't get and verify every armor, so I go by what data others give me. If it's wrong (or blank), please let me know by PM or in the Data Administration thread.
Third, @Lotak - you said Living Flame shows Spirit/Earth, but I show it as Fire/Spirit in the spreadsheet. The one below is Mantle of the Beast which is Spirit/Earth.
Finally, I have added 5 columns to the end of the sheet (W-AA) called "Element Sort Fields". One column for each element. If the armor contains the element, the cell has the colored element. If not, it has a "-". So if you bring it into Excel and Z-A sort by "Earth" (column W), and by "Water" (column X), and A-Z sort the "Armor Name" field, it should give you what you're looking for in order for Earth/Water:
Asura
Asura +
Clayplate
Clayplate +
Deep Dragon Mail
.
.
.
I will do my best to remember to add the field when adding to the Armors tab for future armors.

I think I might have found a potential reason: if I load the page in Lynx, I get lots of SSL errors but it shows if I accept the problem certificates, so if Firefox and IE on my laptop decide to silently not load content with SSL problems, Google Docs might just redirect to their login page.
tl;dr Google Docs needs to fix their SSL certs and I was wrong in assuming you were the culprit. ;)
Google Chrome Portable apparently pretends there are no problems and does show the page. (which I personally see as incorrect behaviour. fix problems > gloss over them :p )

Your adjusted setting has pretty much inserted the suggestion I made!
Thank you.
Also, you are right, I chose a bad example there! However, Embersteel applies (only one listed as Spirit/Fire, whereas all others are Fire/Spirit).
Also, I copied the link from my laptop, from the "Noob sticky" thread, so its weird that it didn't copy properly!
And finally, how dare you suggest that I have an iPhone! *spits on the floor* Samsung S3 user all the way! :p
