No... you saw unauthorized screenshots of the beta test, which is why the thread disappeared. If you were paying attention you would notice that this update is NOT exactly like what was in beta.

If the iOS version which went through a beta got messed up, I'd be wary of the new android version when it comes out.

The update does not appear to have anything to do with the issues, as people without the update are having the same problems.
