Good looking boss, simple the moving pile of skulls are not so ok. Awesome armor, surely going to make it to 43 because element are adiacent. Will max ti armor as fast as possible cause i love high defence armors, i simply feelbat beause i never maxed an. Hydra hunter.. But i will provide fast.

Nice boss and armor design, shame the elements are ones I don't need but it gives me a quiet week to try to muster the enthusiasm to finish levelling Eurus+, Notus+ and first, Nerezza+.

DP+ is 1120/899 and 2019 in total. Dorar+ is 962/1366 and 2328 in total. If u dont have Pyro+ u should get this one. Good to tank some stuff and still makes good dmg (around 1.4 att with lvl 100 plus u can get some guild bonus)

With second chances at bosses now having two opening crits 100% of the time, I'm thinking the defensively tilted armors may make excellent first-knight armors, if one has a choice (aka, this crafty bear). I'm thinking with BKAL+, AR+, and PM+, this might be a pass for me, though. Thoughts, my similarly long-lived Knights?

This is a great looking boss, and the Def of this is in the top 10. This IMO is a must have tank armor.
Stat wise is very close to Armor of Notus+

Also I disagree with any armor with adjacent stats being a good tank armor as far as Arena goes, They're only good vs Epic Bosses, but that's just my opinion though.

High stats fire/water armor with 200% damage VS low stats Nemesis with 300% damage. I don't think many people will go for Nemesis...
I'd rather have someone in Boilerplate+ (200% damage), Jian+ (200%), Flamehunter+ (200%) or Combustion+ (150% damage but higher stats) as friend.

Also the all numbers were all very low.
Surely was a temporary mistake but I would like to know if anyone else experienced it.

I've seen this happen a few times. Once I tried hiring one of them, and they were actually equipped with the low level version of their armor. The other times I've seen it, I just closed and re-opened the menu, and everyone was back to normal.

So... don't hire if you see this glitch. :)

As others have mentioned, I was pretty surprised at how far I made it with just a maxed HH+. Defeated Boss #14 with one knight. Took down Boss #15 with two knights. Great progress!

Your team composition will make a huge difference, eventually. At low boss levels, you could easily wear bad armor and still beat the boss. There's only so much time to regenerate epic boss energy, and the boss ramps up in difficulty every tier. High level players look to get level 43, 51, or 60 each week, which is where one starts to run into challenges. Presuming you're not spending big bucks for spare epic energy, you need to defeat as many ranks as possible with only one knight, as that takes 3 energy a shot. A second knight adds an additional hour per attempt, a third, a half hour. With the EE that comes along from drops, I was able to get 15 kills in an hour with one knight; if I had used 3 knights, it would have only gotten 7 kills. 5? I'd be stuck at 5 kills, because that would use up my 10 friend uses for the day.

Against this boss, if you wore shadow/air, you'd take 50% additional damage, which means 1, 2 more knights to get the same number of kills. If you wear air/fire, you'd deal an additional 100% damage. Fire/water? 200%. Nemesis? 300%.

So, a few months ago there was a boss, Twin Jian, that gave out a Water/Fire armor with high stats. Those of us with one, are using that. Others are using Hydra Hunter+, which anyone can get, if they've gotten far enough in story mode. The bonus damage makes a big difference.

I'm a big dumb dumb and ate my Hydra Hunter and refuse to make a new one, so my team is a Jian, and now an Atlantean Avenger and Jian. I was leveling a BKal+ from the dragon event, but I'm putting that on hold on the theory that Boreas+ will be useful in the next event, as well as this one (but it'd be like Gree to course change just for giggles, especially due to the GW event this weekend's reward). So my team will be Boreas, Jian, AA+ soon; but I'm in the 20's still so just two knights for me.

Small correction/clarification: both elements neutral or weak = 100% damage, 1 elements strong (water, fire, water/air, fire/air if you don't want to take extra damage) = 100 + 50 = 150% damage, 2 elements strong (water/fire) = 100 + 50 + 50 = 200% damage. And of course Nemesis indeed at 300% .
No idea why Gree did 2 adjacent element weeks in a row, since Nemesis is much less attractive if other armors can do 200% damage without taking 150% damage, which should be bad for chest use during those weeks...

Jian's pretty much the same stats as pyro isnt it.

I got my DP+ to about 50 last week so disappointed that it's the same elements. I think I will ditch it and work on this instead.. Hopefully next week is a mono or something so I can take a break.

Mostly the resources needed: 5 1/2 days a smith locked down, 2x 200K gold crafting, extra level 1-35 and 1-20 crafting compared to my DP+ . I'd rather apply those resources to Assasin+, an element combination I don't already have.
Also: adjacent elements are said to be worse at the arena than non-adjacent, so a tanky adjacent armor isn't the most useful thing to have...
If I have some downtime, I do intend to craft and level it, so I can scrap my second maxed LF+.

I like the look of the armor; but not enough to bother.

I think Jian is a great armor, (one of my all time favourites); somehow though the only people on my friends list wearing it max out at 1450 attack, which is only 50 more than my own in HH+. My friends wearing HH only come out to 1200 in each stat, which is the same stats as my own fodder knights in AA+ and Boreas.

I've had to switch to using 6 energy for an attack at boss lvl 23. That shows I'll be pushing to get lvl 43 with more aggravation than I'd like for an off week. Didn't use a friend until 15, switched back to just main knight until 18. Maybe I just had my hopes up for a good fire/water since I missed Jian+. Doubt they'll do a third adjacent element combo in a week. So hopefully mono wind next week.

Investing too much in getting epic boss level 15 just hampers your progress over the map. The level 3, 6 and 10 victory rewards are probably much more useful than the boss armor at level 15.

It's really not something you should aspire to have. There's still big4+, then transition to bigger4+ before you can even think of epic+. It takes a lot longer than you think to get there.

Starting plaing from the fairy pony, i missed him, the dragon tortoise, the sirens, jian, sasquatch, the flame eater(here i got my first non plus) , jackalope, deva(ouch, here i fell off the stairs) wandering flame, eurus, boreas, phyrus, slimelord, and i reached 43 only now. My only plus armors are assassin shroud and aegis of the fallen (on crafting), so i think you may wait a bit untill you will get to 43. If you want, craft some of the legendaries you will get, but you will end up fusing them away as i did whit jackalope and flame eater, (the only i crafted) because level them up is so pricey. You can level an entire set of big four whit the ep you need to level one.

A lot of users were once where you are now, including myself I went crazy after I got my 1st Legendary armor, spent a huge amount of gold and resources to level it, only to find out it's stats were not what I thought they would be and find out I bit off a lot more then I could chew in terms of the resources and gold needed to level that Legendary armor.

I honestly completely regret crafting and enhancing my 1st Legendary armor to Level 25, (When i realized it was a waste) I could have used that gold, time and armors for better things. I just ended up stunting my growth in game and wasting a lot of time doing that.

I'm 103 now. For this boss I'm running AA+,HH+,HH+ because I don't yet have anything better, but I have cleared the storyline, so I can dedicate 10 friends a day to the boss.
Last boss I was running HH+,LF+,LF+ because my Dark Prince+ wasn't leveled enough yet, since even at level100+ it takes something like 5+ days to max a level 70 armor. Assasin is the first boss armor I've reached enough materials for the plus version, so it's also the first boss armor I've ever crafted (I still have materials for 7 non-plus boss armors in my inventory) . If I had crafted and leveled one or more of those, I wouldn't even have two of the bigger four maxed yet... (and a plus version of a bigger four armor will have better stats than a non-plus boss armor)

What line up are you guys using when you are/were in the 30's 40's?
I was probably still transitioning from Monk's and Rageborne(?) to big four and not getting very far on the epic boss back then.

Of course they will. The least bad way to try for a (non-plus) epic seems to be to fuse 2 boss armors (if you don't have unlimited money or unlimited free gems to use on chests).

You can consider doing lvl 11 monos. You should have a lot of mats for these.

The other way is get 11 chests and get guaranteed at least 730EP. Easy EP

How many knights are you guys using to fight the boss near 43?
For level 43 I'll probably be triggering the boss when I have 9 1/2 - 10 epic energy,
then run
commander + friend + friend (uses 6 epic energy)
and just over 1 1/2 hours later
follower + commander + friend + friend (uses 7 epic energy)
I used to run a 4/3 setup instead of 3/4 until somone pointed out the boss is guaranteed to crit on his 1 or 2 first attacks on the second run and that it's better to let a follower take those hits than the commander.
It is very, very scary at first though seeing the epic boss at 60-70% health after the first run instead of below 40% when you do 4/3.

People who have great armors themselves and don't need as much help from friends will probably run setups like 5/2 or 2/5 instead of 4/3 or 3/4, only using up 3 friends instead of 4.

For me those 5 keys will probably just be added to the stockpile of 11 keys I already have.
60 armor slots just is too little to have your wearable armors, a few spaces for crafting, 50 EP enhancement fodder from guild fusion quests, Boosts and things you get from chest keys...
If I use my keys, I can't craft any more, unless I first have a right armor level for which 50 EP armors wouldn't be a total waste to apply to, so I can throw all of those at it to clear space.
Everything (keys, stones, 50 EPs, boosts) gridlocked while I try to churn out Snakeskin and uncommon_lvl11 as fast as possible. :(

You already reached 30, but i think is to much to ask for 43 now. I dont want to demoralize you, keep trying, but whit the level 80 stats is a bit hard to make this last knight half hp last for 13 more levels. Let us know if you did it or wisely wait for the next one.

To be honest the difficulty begins to rise in the mid 30's this is where I find that the big Four won't cut it. As said above just keep trying. You may have to change your strategy though once you get far enough. Make sure you have 10 EE and boss is blacked out, fight minions to get it to appear then fight the boss with your 3 Knights 2 Allies, once they all die and you fail to kill it, then wait till you get 5 EE (1 Hour 30 Mins), you'll have about 20+ minutes left to kill it. Once this strategy fails then it's best to just call it quits. I was Level 90 on the last boss and was only able to get to 40 kills using Big Four.

Hey everyone I'm new to these forums but I am a massive fan of the game. I've only had it a few days and I am currently a level 31, I've beat the epic boss 12 times. I was hoping that a few high levels could add me to help my progress, my code is XBF-HFB-RHC I'd appreciate the help. Thanks in advance :)

I'm lvl80 and running AA+, HH+, HH+ ... now at boss level 30 ... i'm thinking if i can get to lvl 43 with this setup.

I have some friends around lvl80 to lvl100 and mostly with HH+ too.

I usually go with 3 knights + 2 friends and it can kill the boss with about half HP left at the last knight.

Anyone running this armor set too? what's your strategy? Is it possible to reach 43?

You have to remember that you can also try 2-2 and then again 1-2

by that I mean first time send 1knight 1 commander 2 friends.. that will cost 7 energie

you then have to wait 1.5h untill you have 6 energy again and go 1 commander 2 friends.

with this you might make it to 43 (depending on your friends) or atleast make a good chance at it

Fortunately I have good friends (2x Jian's, Boiler, Nemesis and a whole lot of Blazes) or I'd have to get back for a second run. With just HH+ friends, I might just have made 35 going in 5+2, 2+5, 4+3 or 3+4, but not very much further, since once you need 2 runs it starts slowing down to a crawl: 3 friends per level == 3 1/3 levels per day / 4 friends per level == 2 1/2 levels per day and the same for epic energy: 13 epic energy used == 6 1/2 hours.

Level 35 is a nice 3 gems and 10 armors prize, so I'd say try for it if that doesn't hamper you adventure mode travels too much. 35 was my stepping stone to 43 on the next boss. (with a little luck w.r.t. elements...)

I'm having somewhat better luck with that lineup than you are--I just beat 38 with just 3+2 (and the 2 were in HH+ as well), though the last few have been dicey. I think I'm just about at the end of 3+2 though, expecting to have to switch to 3+2 followed by 2 real soon now, then 3/4, and hope that gets me to 43.

I understand what you mean, but still its something that us low level players aspire to have, and we know that with a little help of a few strong(er) friends its a possiblity for us, but just because it seems like a waste to you (and any others who agree), its something for us to reach for, dont kill our dreams, but rather help us, then there will be less of a chance of us asking later
And later on when we need it we will have the friends we nee to get our own + version

I felt the same way and ended up looking at things differently to make sound decisions about what to level and what to pass on. I must say that I've gotten great mileage out of my Wanderer's Basic. What you really need to think about is "Is this armor's element, or element combo, something that will be useful to me?" In other words, don't do what I did and start to level Jackalope Basic (Water/Earth) when Swamp+ is not too far off, which has better stats and the same elements. I found it useful to go ahead and level Wanderer's Basic (Fire only) because none of the storyline armors provide that. The Wanderer's was extremely helpful when I started running Zephyr Plateau to collect Roc Feathers. Similarly, I chose to level Eurus Basic rather than Spectral Captain+ because Eurus Basic has the same elements but better overall stats than Spectral+. So, bottom line, put it in context and carefully choose which armors you level and which you pass on.

Do you guys go as far as you can or do you just stop incase you know you wont hot next reward level? Aka stop at 28/35 or just push it hard? Think using friends for power levelling might be way more efficient

depends on the boss :P if i can get to around 40 i can always summon later and get the + version when i get some more gems =)

Different things to think of:
- might keeping at it get you to the next reward level or top 25 leaderboard?
- are friends more useful farming/leveling?
- would you prefer to spend that time on something else than KnD if tryharding doesn't give you a real advantage? ;) :p

I'll probably stop at 43, since 51 or top 25 are out of my reach and then I'll probably quickly throw the remaining friends at KoD Epic to try and farm some more bigger four to try my hand at some 3-star fusion.

Beat 43 early this morning which was a surprise after missing more than 24 hours of play due to the Guild Wars Game Crash Cluster Crock.

I figured I might as well push on, but when l had the energy for level 44 all my friends appeared in the level 1 version of their equipped armors. As I don't really care at this point I picked a couple anyway, and yes, they fought in level 1 armor so the Boss kicked our butts (my knights were still in their maxed armors).

So this has really been a bad week for K&D. First the Guild Wars fiasco, with total gamecrash for over 24 hours for me. The War is at least grinding to a sad conclusion in a couple of hours, and I've been nothing but a frustrated spectator throughout.

Now I can't even fight the Epic Boss with my friends in their correct armor. If I was still a couple of levels shy of 43 and wanting the armor I'd be mad as a cut snake right now. As it is, I chalk it up as another level of customer dissatisfaction and go back to playing Car Town Streets, which is a far more enjoyable game.

If you are having that level of trouble with 34, the 35 will be extremely tough. There is a huge difficulty spike at the reward levels. Level 35 is akin to level 37/38 I believe. I would advise that you attempt to do the 3/4 or 4/3 method, if you have 3 or 4 friends left to use for the day.

I just checked, and his stats at 35 were equal to his stats at 39, so yes it's a pretty big jump from 34 to 35.

I also had the experience of seeing all my friends in level 1 armors this morning--I wasn't that happy, because I haven't hit 43 yet. After restarting the game, they were in more normal-looking armors, but best I can tell they were all in their "adventuring" armors rather than their "epic boss" armors, so many who should have had good armors for this boss did not (seeing a sea of earth on the screen did not make my day). In any case, I worked around that and about to take a shot at level 42.

Yep, understandable, ive decided to focus my aim on the big four for now, later shift to the bigger four, and collect the boss armours for my own personal fun, like for aesthetic value or some fun in the arena, but still id really like to get it this week for a few reasons, one, i think it looks really nice, two, i have one kill left until i can craft it, and three, im still low so it would be nice to have something similar to what higher levels have

Afterwards i got atlantean avenger (i guess fodder for my atlantean avenger +) and then a flowstone set

For level 43 I'll probably be triggering the boss when I have 9 1/2 - 10 epic energy,
then run
commander + friend + friend (uses 6 epic energy)
and just over 1 1/2 hours later
follower + commander + friend + friend (uses 7 epic energy)
I used to run a 4/3 setup instead of 3/4 until somone pointed out the boss is guaranteed to crit on his 1 or 2 first attacks on the second run and that it's better to let a follower take those hits than the commander.
It is very, very scary at first though seeing the epic boss at 60-70% health after the first run instead of below 40% when you do 4/3.

People who have great armors themselves and don't need as much help from friends will probably run setups like 5/2 or 2/5 instead of 4/3 or 3/4, only using up 3 friends instead of 4.

If you already have a maxed pyro+, I wouldn't level this if you have other armors to level.

This is because each set-up is registered separately. The three set-ups are Boss, Adventure, and Arena. You will see the set-up for that person in each different situation as it's warranted. When you fight the Boss, you will see that gear, when you ask for help on the map, you will see the Adventurer set, and when you go to friends > Battle you will see arena setup.

Against this boss fire does 150% damage, while fire/water does 200% damage.
At first glance that would seem to mean Blaze still does more damage than HH+, but what armors you wear in those 2 modes might affect the stats listed. (or he might just have thought "200% is better than 150%" and not multiplied the numbers to see which is really best... ;) )

HOWEVER, since 10am, my friends are showing up as teir armor is level 1. i have a level 200+ friend in jian showing the image of a level 1 and stats for level 1 armor. WTF! i cant battle the boss if it thinks the stats are level 1! All of my friends are like this no matter what they are wearing! Yet another bug from gree's wonderful coding skills. Also, all of my guild memer award and mvp stats have been reset (at least what i see is everyone is back to 0 on all mvp and awards. This happened with all the crashes from te guild fail event!

It's not the visual effect that matters, it's the damage.
They don't have different visuals for two-element damages.

Beat him at 43 tonight, using mostly HH (on myself and friends) the whole way. I did fall one hit short of beating him using 3/4 on 43 and ended up spending 10 gems to refill EE--not ideal, but figured my first boss + armor was worth 10 gems (in retrospect it would have been cheaper to buy a couple special attacks, but I wasn't confident that would work in the moment).

Both AFAIK are connection issues (either yours or Gree's, for some reason you didn't get the full data pull from them).

The level 1 armor one I've seen, in my case whacking the client and restarting it fixed that one. Haven't come across the guild member MVP stats resetting but a guildmate did, when I checked it was OK on my end so I suspect it's similar to the other vagaries when the client doesn't receive the full set of information from Gree's servers.

Hopefully you got back on track. I didn't test it myself but I suspect had you started the event, the friends would've shown up in their regular gear as at least from various graphics glitches showing main adventure armor initially on the boss fight, I think there's a secondary pull at the start; however, I haven't managed to record my iphone's network activity with the sniffer to verify that, eventually should fix that sometime even though I don't really need wireless network analysis capabilities in my day job.

Yes. Getting that first epic boss + armor will greatly help you getting more of them. 22 gems is a small price to pay.

Nope. I thought it would and tried fighting this way once, and the friends fought in their baby armor and died in one hit.

This bug has happened to me quite a few times, always when I had a poor network connection. (I play on an iPad with just wifi; I've had this happen on some slow public wifi links, and also when using my cellphone as a hotspot when the phone reception was bad.) Hard-restarting the game sometimes fixes it. My theory is that it queries the server for friend armor details, but if it doesn't finish the query within some time limit it just gives up and uses level 1, and then keeps using those values if you go in and out of the friends list. Doing a hard restart on the game forces it to try the query again.

I did just that earlier today. I have not crafted Dark Prince and decided that the Aegis has better stats and comparatively easier to craft. I know for the amount of time (and gems) I put fighting the epic boss, at the end I will have the 100 mats needed to build 2 sets of this armor. On Dark Prince however, I can put the same time hunting for Evil Jewels and most likely will not have all the 44 needed.

Don't forget, that if you're not going to beat him and you spend the gems, you have to do it before the new boss hits. There's no leniency, the summoning stone changes him to 30 at the same time the new boss hits.

I finally got to lvl42 (spent 5 gems on critical hit to play safe ... looking back i may only need to spend 2 to 3) and i just summon it once for 11gem
So total spent 16 gems and now i have 100 materials to craft two armors.

will craft the first one now ... so sad it will take 3 days to craft .... i guess it will be weeks before i can max the +version and put it into use ...

I hope so, tortoise was my second boss and is the oldest boss combination, so earth air or water fire, cause jian is old also. Maybe a mono air? I hope not. I have a maxed assassin shroud i rushed because an earth air is near. Very near. Very very near.
