Is there a way to calculate or at least maximize on battle points?

At first I thought that maybe if I attack people with higher level than me, I'd get more battle points...nope. Then I thought about attacking people with a higher rank...nope. Finally I tried to attack people with equal or higher defense compare to my attack...bingo. So is that the only factor in getting more battle points per attack?

You get high bp when you attack players with higher level than you, higher rank than you and have a high defense than your attack ( about 50-60k higher depending on your skill points)
