View Full Version : An honest, open question to members of Fight Club:

Why do you continue to play Crime City?

Honestly, I'm not being sarcastic, I'm not being facetious - I'm genuinely curious?

You've won. You're the best. You've nothing left to prove. Look at the district map: eight districts, and you own them all. Not even one other team on the board. No one can catch you. No one can rob you, or attack you.

But speaking of 'bored', are you not? I'm just curious to understand your motivation.

I know mine - I can improve, build my stats, become stronger than others in my bracket. But you guys? You have it all. I would be doing cartwheels if my syndicate placed first, but it must be routine for you. Another war on the black AmEx. You could break open the champagne, but when you've been drinking it every day of your life I bet it doesn't taste so sweet huh?

How long will you continue to buy syndicate war victories? Doesn't this feel routine yet? Surely you must be nearing a point where you're ready to find a new game and dominate that? Or is victory so easy now that you just can't be bothered to stop?

Maybe one of your butlers just does the tapping for you, and you forgot to tell him to stop? :p

Find another game to dominate? Have you not heard? FCS is actually first place syndicates(CC), guilds(KA) and factions(MW). They don't need another game. They need another planet to dominate!

I think it's BECAUSE they're the best so that they keep playing... They can enjoy the efforts and money that they put in the game (ridiculously high stats and thus beating everyone) That's one way to put it. I do agree with some of the things you posted. Eventually it's boring. No real need to participate in events and keep playing. They're the strongest. No matter how hard you try to beat them, it won't work.

Exactly.

I haven't seen any FC responses yet. Damn. Did I break FC? Are their members looking in the mirror, muttering to themselves? Sweat pouring down their foreheads? What have I done?? The power of introspection! God forgive me if one of them were to hang themselves tonight, their last note: "I wasted my whole life on CC."

Nah, who am I kidding - the butler will keep on tapping...

As a former member of FC, I can say it is a different FC than when syndicates began, and it continues to evolve. Members do leave and new ones join. What people do with their money is their business. FC is simply a group of people that decided to form what is more or less a business, and invest in being the top. No ones wallet is bottomless, but this group certainly won't be leaving the top any time soon. I am honored to have been amongst them, and although I paid for it, I don't regret it. FC will be the syndicate those with the deepest wallets flock to as long as CC is around.

Dipstik

Probably because most people can't afford that level of spending forever. People move in and out all the time. Fight club might as well be defined as "People willing to spend fight club levels of cash on crime city."

Also, to Mr. Futter: No one should ever forget how much the indians mouthed off about being the strongest gang in a game that didn't involve group competition. It warms my heart to see that they're not even top 3 once it actually matters. Tell lupo the one attack every 4 hours or so isn't going to cut it... he promised me 10-0 every 2 hours!

Do you preach at casinos, strip clubs, high-end resorts, exotic car dealerships, table service at a club, private jets...they are plenty of places to "waste money" in this world, you just have to pick the one (or many) that you enjoy...

hell, smoking 2 packs/cigaretters a day, costs what $7k a year now in some places? The lottery in just New York had $8 billion in sales in 2011.

And I'm sure your max spend is based upon a variety of factors such as your income, cost of living, size of your family, long term personal goals, etc etc.

Just imagine if some of those factors weren't identical for every person. Is it just possible that in that bizarre scenario their budget would differ from yours?

LOL. You need to appreciate the fact that some players have a real life inventory that can rival their in game.

Example:

Player A: spend $500/mth or 5% of his income
Player B: spends $10/mth or 15% of her income
Player FC: spends $2K/mth or .10% of their income

I'm not sure why you can't understand the fact that different people have different ways to spend money for enjoyment. If you have a few million to waste on entertainment, spending $5k-$10k a month on a game, you enjoy isn't that extravagant...

So you were right, if you define "right" as being within a factor of 60.

Or, to take matters further:

But why would you spend $50k on this game in 1 month? In the span of several years, sure that makes sense, but in 1 month, that's absurd! I'll take the $200k car any day of the week over this game.

So if it's ok by you to spend $50k over "several years", and these 60 people are spending $50k a month between them, that means on average they are spending $50k in a 60 month period.

I have to beg ignorance here, I simply cannot fathom what it is you find to be the problem.

We're a group of dedicated players who like to battle hard during each event and hopefully come out on top at the end of it.

We still get excited every time we compete so no we don't find it boring.

The group was formed to put an end to the Indians reign as the number 1 group in CC which has been accomplished but each and every member still has goals which they strive for.

Bottom line is everyone wastes money in one way or another throughout life but if you enjoy it then who cares? You can't take it with you when you end up 6 feet under so enjoy it while you can.

As a former member, Zendfrim sums it up nicely. We want to win and we enjoy winning. There is a price to pay for that privilege. But, above all else, members of Fight Club _enjoy_ what we do and we have a great group of people battling together for the common good of keeping us at #1. Change is inevitable, and indeed the make-up of Fight Club members has changed somewhat over time - but that is pretty much the same for all the other top syndicates.

Perhaps our edge is, firstly, that our core membership is still pretty much the same rock solid group since the beginning and secondly, that we have a great deal of respect for one another. Respect amongst your peers is the true path to collective success.

A few syndicates have tried and failed to step up and topple us - we particularly enjoy those battles. Who wants to step up next and have a go? Here's a free hint - try to avoid in-fighting, backstabbing each other and maintain some continuity - then you _might_ improve your chances...but you'll still place #2 at best :p

A. Only a small fraction of Ferraris will hold value. Depreciation on a supercar that has no long term value is horrific. That you can sell it at all doesn't in itself mean anything - if you had your vehicle devalue to the tune of $50k, then you spent $50k (plus running costs - which are astronomical for supercars, if you actually drive the things) to own the car. Also, I'm pretty sure you'll find that plenty of people have sold their high-end CC accounts.
B. Thinking about resale value of your hobbies takes away the ability to enjoy them purely for what they are. I know this is an unpopular position on this forum, but personally I like to make money from the things I make money on, and spend money on the things I enjoy. I've crossed over before, and the joy quickly dissipates.

A Ferrari requires maintenance, premium fuel and the odds of you realizing a profit is zero. You want to buy a junker get it barely running using scrap than give it a paint job. Than you'll find some sucker to buy it. (kinda what like Gree is trying to do with CC)

I used to spend in excess of three grand a month on Gree games simply because I could and they were cheaper than some of my other hobbies (for example, I collect and build cars .. Just finished building a factory five GTM ) ... So why did I stop?

It was a combination of several things....

The escalation and inflation of stats. What many of us worked so hard achieve over the course of months in the beginning can now be achieved in a single event.

We are now besieged with multiple events. I understand Gree needs to be profitable but seriously at times we have three or more events running at the same time in the very same game.

It is harder to identify cheaters. The artwork and top prizes from past events are being reused making it more and more difficult to identify cheaters.

Industry insider reporting. Financially Gree as a whole has performed poorly the last three quarters resulting in layoffs, and shutting down of offices. This quarter does not have positive outlook and thus I am cautious about investing anything more with Gree at this time.

Everything we own is worthless. As a player we have no legal rights of ownership of items existing on their servers... If the game suddenly shut down tomorrow, there is little anyone could do...... FYI ... if Gree discovers that in fact people are selling accounts, they have an absolute right to terminate those accounts ( you do not own them thus you have no rights to sell them ) .

The excessive banning on the forum. I personally have been lifetime banned for simply mentioning my occupation to someone who asked.... The reason given " I don't like you" ...direct quote. I expect I will receive the same treatment when said moderator reads this post.

Well, I wish all who continue to enjoy these games the very best.... As I await delivery of my latest purchase.

#2 is only available for a short while longer!

Op, only speaking for myself, the ONLY reason I will stop is if Gree keeps on putting up sh!t prizes for the first spot! All of my other goals are complete in this game. Most Indians retired or lost their edge So, the fight is out of the game. Stats are the only thing left, to pay a premium for 20% more hideout damage is just stupid, even if you really like to win. I hope they change their path and make winning worth the effort.

About as plausible as Gree is owned by Fight Club, who then created syndicates to encourage huge spending to generate big profits to recycle for their own spending to encourage......

Me thinks hideout damage prize for number 1 is dumb. No play for number 1. Play for number 2. Number 2 much better prize. So number 2 is number 1 see? Play for number 1 an u get sory prize. Play for number 2 and next time gre give u better.

Sory my engles is not ok. Thank u. Lol

a) You are my new favorite poster.
b) Number 1 gets prizes 1, 2, and 3.
c) If you are suggesting that Gree should make the best prize #2 or #3, I tend to agree but I see both sides of the debate.
d) I am not Santa.

Too many numbers. Very simple. Play for 2. Save money. No 1 want number 1 prize. Just say that no worth fight for number 1. No one fight for number 1 then gre make better prize for number 1 next time.

Thank you fierce tiger montecore!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes. If gold medal numbar 2 prize and silver nmber1.He doesn't do it for the gold medal itself...he wants to be nr1 prize or no prize. What would his competitors think if he came 2nd? Then they think that they can beat him and they would boost up their confidence.

If Bolt was purely concerned with being nr 1, would he have agreed to this (http://www1.skysports.com/news/12993/8848249/), which is a distance outside his comfort zone?

No no no gold medal worth more. Silver end in garbage. No work for garbage. Get gold then sleep that order. If gold number 2 then get number 2 if silver number 1 then u have a shiny silver and I get gold. You see?

I see you have a alternative motive here. End of day number 1 is number 1, the winner, the best on the day.

So if Bolt is Fight Club = supreme short distance runner, but runs out of puff after about 500-600m does this mean they will inevitably decline and fall as their employees rebel against being tasked to tap the master's screen all the live long day during wars and PvP ;)

The good thing with all of these events are that the other syndicate members level up. U will score less in the coming syndicate wars...We have always been the syndicate with the highest percentage of lv250 players so this is good for us in the long run. This game is not about high stat weapons but about modfiers. The top 20k weapons today will probably be quite worthless in a years time...but the modfiers stack.

Vlad has never cheated.

Maybe not directly but he did encourage other members to hack the account of baddad and that is a well known fact. It is time to own up to this fact and acknowledge that SAS will never have a clean record as long as certain players are still within SAS.

If someone orders the killing of another person they are just as guilty as the person who pulled the trigger.

The fact is vlad may not have hacked but he encouraged other SAS members to do this.

The PVP events are individual events. That's why the prizes are stacked for individuals. The results are aggregated for syndicates, after the fact. That's why the syndicate prizes are so puny.
Syndicate wars are syndicate events and require team play. That's why the prizes are distributed to all members of the syndicate.

FC wins all true syndicate events, so far, because they are a team with excellent leadership. SAS has won a PVP event and may win again because SAS is a collection of selfish, ego-oriented, vapid, soulless players who are excellent at attacking each other and in Vlad's case stealing from each other.

And that's the way it is...
