View Full Version : Frequent attacks - Bullying or Part of the Game?

Ok so a question for people out there, just to see what different people's take on the game is. I know I have my thoughts on this, and a lot of friends in the game, some have similar some are different, but what are your thoughts?
Do you "keep in mind" names on your Battle List to revisit? People with high level manors, frequently unnatended Lenders, people often overvault? Do you re-visit at every opportunity, or are you merciful?
My view; if I know someone, of they're a friend of a friend I'll often pass them by, ally with them whatever. But generally, "yes" if I find a juicy target in my battle list, I'll remember that name and make sure I visit them when they pop up here and there, to me this is smart playing.
That being said someone is currently accusing me of "bullying" for hitting them 3 times in the past 7-10 day when they always have +3 million in gold. My thoughts - it could have been a lot more than 3 times so be grateful....
Vote how you think...

For sure Part of the game!
I rarely raid from battle list, but have "green targets" on my News list that has special attention.
Raiding uncollected buildings is one thing. I have been guilty of collecting the same person's 24 hour buildings 3-4 days in a row. Easy fix - collect your buildings, or change your collection time. And if they politely ask me to stop, I lay off for a few weeks.
But attacking/raiding incessantly, to the point where it is harassment, is going too far. I know people out there that will spend all day raiding the same person, literally taking out their boost buildings every 15-20 minutes to try to maximize casualties. Behavior like that is unacceptable.

All part of the game. If you don't like being raided set a timer for every building and collect before you do. Vault your gold or donate to the guild. Don't upgrade your manors. Do post funny objections to being raided for the pure entertainment value, extra points for going completely overboard with threats.

if you are only hitting 3 times, you are not playing the game to its fullest. :D

If we're talking money buildings, you're fair game - all day, everyday. If you don't want to be raided, keep your buildings at level one or collect them on time. It's my understanding GREE gives you a six minute free period where you can collect from your buildings yet no one can see they're ready. That's more than fair.
When I used to raid frequently, if I found you had some high output buildings, I would stalk you until I hit you. Then I'd keep returning to see when you collected/refreshed your buildings so I could get you again the next day (or 48 hours later).
Those who raid unit buildings and such for no reason are just silly however. If you're doing it to lower stats for other guild members during wars, that's one thing. But if you're doing it because someone attacked you and now you're hell bent on getting them back, you're a silly child and need to grow up.
Edit: I'm all ears for reasons why raiding unit and boost buildings is worthwhile outside what I have already mentioned however.

Agree on that KJ,Just like what you posted on your own wall that goes like this "If youve been attacked/raided by me,thats just part of the game.I cant help that GREE limits the pool of players I can raid and you constantly leave gold unsecured for raiding. So,if you boo-hoo on my board,I will indeed start seeking you out so you have something to cry about.Cheers"

While I do agree with this post and the poll and I feel that continued attacks is fine, it is a game of war.
But combine it with taunts and name calling on there wall with daily attacks+, this could be classed as bulling.
its when they get personal using your wall with verbal attacks as well as attacking you city. Is where I believe the line is that some cross.

i attack and raid for the plunder, not for some petty rivalry. And if you have good buildings yes ill remember you and pay you a visit. Some names i check upto 5x daily because they're just too good to pass up.

If a question ever deserved an "it depends" this is the one.
I try not to attack the same kingdom more than once every 2 days or so.
If a player is abusive to others, I will attack/raid with more frequency. Some have gone beyond any acceptable level of abusiveness, with one suggesting that he would have forced relations with the person who complained about the freqient attacks.
Some players have gone into bullying. Earlier on, I was attacked (not raitded) 7 separate times by the same player in one day.
Stopping raids is easier, collect and vault your gold.

well at times ive been called abusive. I always reply that if they ever find my buildings uncollected they are welcome to take them and if they want me to stop they should collect their buildings on time. If you dont, its mine.

Interesting. To be clear, my question was specifically relating to the simple fact of attacking/raiding for the purposes of winning gold from the opposing player.
The incessant attacks on boost buildings, and even Defense buildings I've seen before, is petty in my book, and any abussive wall posts have no place in any game in my opinion, I wasn't referring to any of this as its true these are two very different aspects and would most likely result in 2 very different poll answers from most people.

I am fine getting raided if I don't collect on my bigger buildings on time, however, when someone is just being petty and is hitting level 2 shipyards over and over again it gets on my nerves. I usually send them a nice note like "sorry you have leveled out an no one wants you in their guild and this is the only way you can find any joy in this game".

Lol, you've been stalking me, hide the gold guys! :P
Add to this, if someone does hit you frequently, don't hit them back right after you collect, or boo-hoo on their boards right after you refresh your buildings. Let them sit for a few hours before refreshing to throw them off your trail. That's part of the strategy of the game if you're getting hit by the same person over and over.
P.S. if you hit my buildings, there's no ill feelings, and I'll only hit you back if the money is worth it (and I am capable). Happy hunting all. It is a game after all.

I used to be super pissed when I got raided and lost copious amounts of gold..
but now with all the LTQs/box events/bosses etc. I no longer need gold to buy units... my boosts are all done... building upgraded... so except for guild donation, what good is the fake money? It's hard to care about lost gold anymore...

It's either you get stronger or you suck it up.
I think it's fine to raid the same people. Gree designed it, so we can only play within the bounds of their game. When you find that short list of people with good buildings, who else am I going to raid? Now, when that person hits back and/or writes idiotic or rambling things on your wall, it moves it into the "fun" category now. It's on at that point.
And speaking of this, it's on BGK. You, as an entire group of guilds, whine like nobody's business. Either get your defenses up to where we can't raid you, quit the incessant crying over a game, or play FarmVille. You're more cut out for FarmVille. I had my 8 year old put in a good word for you there. Play away!

Raiding is a key part of this game. If you don't like it, you're playing the wrong game. I suggest you give Ski Safari or Kitten Rescue a try.
I have many friendships in the game that got started with one of us catching the other uncollected. I also harbor a few grudges and I'm sure some of my victims do the same. Only in the case of those grudges do I deliberately target an individual, even then I won't bother with anything but their high-paying buildings and frankly it's just a game, if you're going to lose your temper it'll just make me laugh at you.

Great first post, JayW. Loved the opening line, and was nodding my head all the way through your first paragraph.
Safe to say I wouldn't have picked a fight with BGK in my first post, because I didn't. But there's no telling how long you've been playing the game... maybe you've got things well in hand as far as they go.

Ha, BGK should know who I am. I've already got 500 allies, so my number won't help you. I think we've faced off with MoC, its been enjoyable to battle against you guys. I'm just not 200th level yet, so I can't get to where all the real whiners are...and it's even funnier that their comeback is that I should stock up on gems for the next war. So BGK1 will show up and give us a run for our money for AN hour. We'll smash every other BGK we run across that weekend. But that's their answer. They're effectively admitting that they're pointless outside of Conquest Weekends.
Again. FarmVille. My 8 year old will friend you, and politely remind you to collect your chickens and goats. I'm politely reminding you to collect your buildings in a timely manner by wrecking them. It's a game. So far, you're not even smashing my stuff...up that game, you can do it!

Attacking the same person over and over just because they can suggests a player is either a real life bully (even if subliminally) or one of those guys who gets metaphorical sand kicked in their face so waves an e-pene in somebody's face here to compensate. The only exception would be if I were to help out a friend against some a-hole.

Jay welcome to the forum. I agree raiding is part of the game and there are those that whine. But I'm positive I would not have called out any guild or guilds on my first post or now. I wonder how many of your other guild members are not happy that you are bring down such a large group on their heads. Hopefully you guys don't loose members due to is calling out a guild in basically a open declaration of war. This is a game but telling a very large group they are worthless except on battling weekends in my opinion is not a bright thing to say but I wish you and your guild members all the best. Paint drying sounds more fun to me. I'm at your level and feel that same way, although I've warmed to raiding a little bit now that I have bonuses that increase the payout by 60%. I still have a 3-5 kingdoms and out rule. And I've found they are a good low xp boss trigger, so I take advantage of that when there are no LTQs.
On the issue of bullying, I honestly don't pay attention to the name of the person I'm raiding, so I wouldn't know if I'd hit them multiple times. When I'm getting crushed by someone repeatedly, I assume they are operating the same way and send them a joking, incredibly meek, and friendly post. I've found that most people respond positively to that and are open to being allies if you are nice.

Thats easily done Bic, you post your whole family list here, we would love to visit anytime, as we don't want your guys to tell us that they are not longer in BO and drawing a line with you. So cut the talking, give us the list and we will get all the action. I would assume my leader would talk to BGKs leader, thus making you Black Gryffyn. If so, say so. The forum wouldn't let me be just Jay. Everyone else has their name as it is in game, so we're not trying to hide behind "invisible" comments here on the forums. I'm Jay ingame, I'm level 141 ,my Def is just under 1.9 million. I won't denigrate all of your BGK members that I've found at my level, as they are playing their game and deriving enjoyment from it. But fact is, only one of your members is attacking me, and she isn't rubbling my uncollected buildings.
Some of the vitriol written on our walls has been either unintelligible, or just downright unimaginative. I can't speak for my leader, but you're having Zero (0) impact on our guild. If this is the best that your purported 8 guilds can bring to bear, I fear that you're not up to this.
Also, one of your unimaginative members wrote for me to get a bunch of gems. Was he sending those through Gree as like a present, that BGK was sorry? If he meant I should stock up for next weekends Conquest, then please work with him on making full, intelligible sentences. However, it highlights just how impotent BGK is, that he hopes you draw us for 1 out of 72 possible matches. I'm sure it will make his self-esteem rise to fight me 60 levels below his 200. Enjoy those hard earned CPs.😄 I think so much of your guild, that I'll log off for that hour. And all your hits won't change anything about my character, gaming experience, or even my weekend.

I give him credit for quickly jumping on the "I'm more intelligent than you" and "I'm more mature than you" platforms. But I find more often than not, people are quick to jump to that position because they can't win using platforms of more relevant substance, in this case - the scoreboard. So, I'm withholding awarding points for this post until I have more info.
Now, I'm not saying Jay can't win the scoreboard here, but the jury is still out on that.

:p
Can we define scoreboard and points? I'm literally left out of this for the most part. One BGK keeps checking to see if I'm overvaulted. She keeps her buildings collected quite vigilantly. The rest of the BGK at my level would literally be bullying, as my attack is double or more than their defense. We could give BGK a run for their money in a one hour war, but why? We already know they perennially overpay to be the third loser. Have at it. I'd much rather watch FUN run the score up on us, as its like watching a train wreck. You try to figure out who wins the bet on how many points they're going to put up on us.

I was merely being facetious.
Now get back in the ring; this is between you and BGK.

Earlier today a member of BGK informed BlackOps, that they would not relent in their attacks until a specific player, or the Founder publicly apologized in this forum, because some players had raided their players' kingdoms. I am the Founder of BlackOps, and we respectfully decline your offer.
BlackOps will continue to play in the spirit of the game, including raiding kingdoms, BGK or not. If you find this unacceptable, my apologies. Perhaps this game is not for you.
I will not respond to further postings on this subject, as I have better things to do with my time.

Well spoken Jay. What cracks me up are individuals who put a guild tag before/after their name. They are the first I check out when on a raiding spree. SB, BGK, TRK, and MoC are the first to come to mind. You are already my rivals in war, why announce your rivalry in "peace time"? Please don't stop though, it's very satisfying to find a juicy target - even more so if I know which guild you're in. 😝

At one time I played the game like you. Stealthy all the way. I can't tell you how many trees I bought, how carefully I positioned everything so raiders couldn't see my silos, which were my most important buildings at the time I'm talking about. I can't tell you how smart I felt when, no matter where I went, no matter how many kingdoms I "visited", I found nobody else using this strategy. I could not believe it was this easy to be a military genius. I can't tell you how hard it was to get anything done, how trying to upgrade my lumber mill was so frustrating because no matter where I tapped I would select a sycamore tree or a mountain pine. I can't tell you how fast I sold all of them when I learned that no one else could see them.
When you can spare some time from raiding all us tagged juicy targets, google the term "security by obscurity".

lmao ....priceless
Some of the raids are due to people (including myself) with too big fingers on a small iPhone screen and you hit the wrong building.......T

Holy hell, I've done that SOOOO many times! Trying to check Rivals Stats and I accidentally attack a bunker or a boost building or something. God that aggravates me.... That and when I accidentally blow a few gems refilling an energy bar or something. Grrrrrrr....

Are Black Ops truly calling for all out war with BGK, SB,TRK, and MoC? Wow that's a huge mistake on your part if that was your intent. Talking about putting a huge target on your guild members and becoming the first guild ever to make so many enemies so fast. I will say I did notice that you didn't declare an all out war on RK. Hum interesting

No, we are not calling out anyone else. Dayan is a forum user who posted his own comment, saying he attacks players in his battle list with guild tags in their name. He never affiliated himself with us, nor did he declare war on any of those guilds. He merely said that players with those specific tags usually have better kingdoms to raid. Please read what's written, so that you actually infer what the poster communicated.
I have enough words in my mouth, I don't need you trying to put more there. Start your own war please, ours is progressing nicely.

I didn't even say I was in BlackOps, or declaring war on anybody. RK doesn't typically have tags. A big reason I go after tagged players is because they tend to have juicier targets as well as being rivals. If BlackOps had tags I'd probably raid them too. And yes, I'm obscure and anonymous with a completely different in-game name...

My philosophy is quite simple - I attack as many as often as I want and ignore (I do not revenge intentionally) all attackers...

There is some truth here. If someone is tagged in game they almost always have something worth raiding, if you are brave or rich. I always check tagged kingdoms.
It's all a dream

I don't know why some work so hard to avoid confrontation. My wife plays Farmville. I hear that's similar to KA, minus the fighting. Perhaps some of you should check it out.
I don't mind being attacked personally. It adds a little something to the game when I now have to hunt for "revenge".
Granted, guys like Daedringer take the fun out of it when they keep their buildings low so they aren't a worthwhile revenge target. Kidding man; good hit on my wine makers.
But I like my guild tag. If that means I get hit more, so be it. I think it adds more fun to the game when I have someone to battle with. It also helps me get to know others throughout the community. I had no clue who Lara from BGK was until a few days ago. We had a pleasant discussion after I got raided.
Bottom line, if people stop taking it so personally when they get raided and view it as a challenge instead, I think more people would have fun with it. After all, it's just imaginary gold in a game. What the hell are you going to do with it anyway besides donate it to your guild?

So much for the max. I've been attacked 16 times in the past 15 hours. Only 1 duplicate attacker, and his attacks were 2 hours apart.
while doing the tournement of rivals with x number of allies, i consistantly attacked 20+ times again the same rival. as long as they didnt get too weak...

Great perspective on the game. But there are people who can't help projecting themselves into the game, which is natural, I guess. It's easy for people to think of their kingdom as an extension of themselves, thereby personalizing the victimization they suffer at the hands of random, more powerful players.
This is not Second Life, but a game bent on giving hell and destruction. :) Enjoy it.
