I hate this heat wave. It makes me do stupid things like trying a "revenge" battle, completely forgetting that I had a 6/8 double down streak going on. -_-
A whole bunch of points down the drain...
At least the tournament quests aren't too obnoxious this time (10 battles in a day, 5 win streak, 5 wins wearing water) .

Am I right in thinking that all Arena armor rewards are non+ versions? Seems like a lot of effort to go to to get a non+ Jian and a few extra gems and stones. Shame you don't get a choice of having the crafting materials instead of the armor.

Living flame armor until you get to the medals, that's a shame, last week was better.

it's perfectly normal for someone to signal their intention to go for black on day 1 of arena, few people seldom contest that. it's mostly for the achievement rather than rewards.

Not wind monarch, but I also don't know what it is. I wish the rewards were also 50EP boosting armor, or plus versions of the two-stars. Like last weeks storm lord. If it was a +, I may have actually leveled it. For no other reason than just to collect it. I think arena armors should be "Special." Instead of being a + version, it should be an A+ version. 1 extra stat in att/def per level than the normal +. Still wouldn't live up to a legendary, and probably still wouldn't be as good as Big 4, but it would be something.

On Android: current #1 is 11150, but a bit questionable if legit at a total arena win/loss of 101/49 , of which at least one in the previous tournament.
Best case scenario: 48 * 5 = 240
11150 - 240 = 10910
101/8 = 12.625 double down streaks.
10910 / 12.625 = 864 per double down streak.
Is that possible with the 7 revenge and 24 shutdowns added in the mix?
#2 and #3 are 100% legit, just below the 10K mark. (Vader and Gex gem spending battle for the Jian's? ;) )

About the armor: if you did the sensible "don't craft a boss armor unless you have materials for the plus armor", then getting either the non-plus or materials from the arena wouldn't make a difference, since you could level the arena armor and then have enough material in stock to craft the plus.
OTOH, in that case the Summoning Stone is probably less costly than getting a tournament black medal... ;)
(though black medal probably does check off one of the outstanding achievements at the same time.)

Not mathematically possible. It's a shame Gree can't stop this sort of nonsense before it starts.

Good point on the armor, but as you say you'd still need to get to #1 to get the Jian.

I just checked to spend some arena energy, and my list of possible opponents is currently Rank:2, Rank:4, Rank:3, Rank:8 and Rank:25. I'm rank 114.

I don't know if I should be flattered that I won the match, or terrified that this might be my life.

Ugh, now I'm in 2000 place, guess I shouldn't have rushed the first day.

Playing on the first day is bad because you will be mixed in with strong players and weak players. There's no seperation between them yet. A good tip I can give is not to play on the first day and just focus on fighting friends to get some Arena points while you wait for the leaderboards to establish its balance.

Of course it doesn't matter when you have the best armor(s), but when you're low level + don't have the best armors, that's the best route to go.

In iOS, I'm having doubts with "Sir Chadbury", Guild Sentinel of Harbingers of Death. From nowhere, he's suddenly ranked #2 in a very short period of time. This has been his pattern for the last 3 tournaments. Not sure how he does it even with unlimited gems, like getting more than 1k points in a minute. I took SS of his progress in points, so would be asking The Wise One to look into his account since I can never know for sure whether he's just spending tons of gems or his account is bugged or something.

Just checked the ranking and "Sir Chadbury" is currently ranked #1 with a massive lead of 36k, LOL! I don't know how much gems he's spending to keep his DD since his armors are not even strong against most of the ranked 100 players he has to constantly battle with. Anyway, I already asked The Wise One to look into his account. I'd probably send a ticket as well to be sure he isn't using any magic or something. ^^

Even in maxed Legendary armors (which they didn't have), eventually you'll get unlucky with misses and miss out, surely? That's what happens to me, anyway. My maximum winning streak is something in the 60s.

there was a time on the android platform when I was friends with, and knew of, everyone in the arena who was stronger than me. (or at least close enough that a few misses would end my streak)

I could always find a target I could beat.
I do not think that I ever had a win streak of 800 regardless.

With the quirkyness of the arena opponent selection I guess anything is possible.
At ~195 I just got the top 50 to pick from, so I'd say it's entirely possible for the arena to constantly give someone people ranked worse than him/her resulting in such a super win streak...

It is not quirky. If you play around with arena enough you will begin to grasp the mechanics. From my observations, Once you start to get more than 20-30 win streaks you will be placed against opponents of higher rankings, lose some and you will drop to somewhere around your own ranking.

Yeah i am and android user and i saw that... how is possible for that Snowy to do 32660 Victories and 2 Loses on his SECOND tournament? And the other guy ChaseR1 got 1.513.064 points in only 1 DAY with... 106 victories and 56 loses (always on his SECOND tournament)? Seriously things like that are possible? :confused:
I don't know if is possible to hack in this game but... is the only thing that i can think to now :(

Any news? I fought him last night a few times. He had no win streak, then a few minutes later his win steak was 13, then about ten minutes later it was at 113!?! How can he fight over ten battles a minute?

It's about more than the reward. You get the "Black Medalist" achievement :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Also, if you are the right level and you never fail a double down; you can get the 60,000 points Sir Chadbury has for about 600 gems.

As for winning all your fights and getting 60k arena, unlikely for Sir Chadbury since his armors aren't even strong against most of the top 100 players. Unless you have godlike items, then it's a different story. However, eventually you'd lose out to someone stronger or who'd get lucky dodging some of your attacks.

I'm sort of glad Sir Chad is up there, as it gives me a guaranteed win everytime he's an opponent option. I'm hovering around 150 again, and keep getting pared down to just 3 opponents, two of whom usually have Rainbow Kaleidescopic and are thus very hard to beat consistently, which makes double down not really an option any more. Then when I check the leader's armor on the third to get my team ready, they vanish and are replaced by someone else. This happens so often I wonder how anyone progresses further at this stage of the tournament.

Gold might be if you disturb your sleep habits for a whole week. I've been able to stay around ranks 9-13 without doing so.

It's about more than that. At level 100 you can have 129 friends. Let's assume that 29 of those you can't defeat. You can battle, and defeat 100 a day, for 7 days, for 6 points each.
100*6*7=4,200. That alone is enough to give you Ribbon 3 most weeks.

As for actual arena energy, that's difficult. I once worked out a calculation that if you never lost and got 300 points every 8, and slept 8 hours a day, you would get ~20k points. So it's definitely possible. I never worked out a calculation of the straight 15 points per energy over the same course of time.

I'm on track to get around 20-21k points without doing the Arena during my sleep. I think I could get 25k-27k if I did check at night. In a slow tournament, you might be able to get a gold with that. But you'd be cutting it really close. I've also lost my fair share of double downs. I was on track to get around 23k points, but then I lost some traction :(.

I used to be able to get to 8/8 double down most of the time by picking and choosing my fights carefully. But Gree seems to have radically increased the miss percentage, enough that I've completely stopped trying for 8.

What I don't understand is how some people have between 10 to 15k points, with epic armor and such, yet 75% of the time I can one hit kill each one... in only lvl 90 and my best character is ww+. It's funny if these people are the gem spenders because there armor is as good as jello.

This is because they switch their team out to worse armor when they aren't fighting. That way you will always win, and when they come back and put better gear on, they trollup you for revenge points.

technically fighting friends is a lot of nonsense for 6 extra points, but over a week and with much repetition it adds up. Also it's only 6 the first time. Your double down bonuses apply to shut down and revenge bonuses also.

So with shut down and revenge you get an extra 9. By the time your 8th win comes around that's 27 for the total combined. Though, granted, winning revenges with double downs is very risky, especially past 1000th place.

It's an extra 3 points(3 more than a shutdown) with a 350% bonus. That's 10.5 more points for 1 kill. It's not a lot, but every little bit helps when you're trying to get to the next reward tier. I personally don't switch into ultra weak armor for revenge kills, but I do max out my revenge kills everyday.

On a personal note, I finished this tournament with 21k points, good enough for top 15(I think :\). My best tournament yet :).
