Has anyone else seen the new goal that came with the briefcase event? My best bet is that they added special items in some of the briefcases (instead of $10,000, 500 RP, or a different prize) that need to be collected to recieve the grand prize. Looks like it runs completely separate from the 10-item box event besides the fact that the prizes are inside the briefcases. Has anyone found one of the items and can confirm my hunch?

No idea what the odds are any more, but they are ridiculously high nowadays, probably because the prizes for 3, 5, 7 and 9 items are total garbage (no idea the odds for hidden evidence items though). 10 straight gold opens got me 8 "hidden evidences" and 2 rioter items. The last two "hidden evidence" opens are always the hardest, but it's been proven that it can be easily done with no gold these days.

It's too soon to know for sure, but it has been speculated that the odds for the items needed are less than the hidden evidence pieces (meaning the items are harder to acquire than evidence), so it may be possible, but statistically unlikely.

I've always wondered this so I guess I'll ask now...is it better to start using gold at the beginning of a box event, or wait until the very last day to use gold to open boxes? I thought waiting until the end and using cash up until then would lower the total gold cost, but I see so many people using gold now, is there something I'm missing? Or are y'all just impatient? :P

Due to the uncertainty with the new odds for case opens and loot items, I'm using gold opens, no resets to start. Already hit 10/10 and 3 Rioter items. I think I will switch back to cash opens for a little while (the next day or two) to see how that goes, and re-evaluate whether I need gold to finish the event.

If your goal is to just get the explosive mod, I'd bet you can do it with no gold. I suspect gold will be needed for the Getaway Car, though.


Edit: someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but what were the odds of getting a loot item after your 10th item in a collect-10? Something like ~33%, right?

I did about 100 robberies/attacks and did all jobs in canal street twice + some high energy tasks from the soviet shuffle.
I updated the data-set, I tried a re-install, but nothing helped.

Seeing as it's the first day, I'd wager around half of his gold was spent on resets. Probably much less than 32 opens. Especially since the event has only been live for like 12 hours now.

Got the 10th yesterday on perhasp the 20th open or similar. 6,7,8 were consecutive. The longest streak without briefcase was between 5 and 6 actually. Just got the car as well...

Besides the usual gathering 10 items with prizes rewarded for 3, 5, 7, 9, and 10, GREE has thrown in eight random mini-prizes that you have a chance of finding inside a case. If you find all eight, you win Quick Getaway, a high-stat vehicle. You can track your progress for the bonus event in your goals list.

That's an interesting theory you have there, although personally myself I believe that a giant meteorite was the reasons dinosaurs became extinct rather than your climate change theory. Then again you do present a good argument and leave me with many things to consider.

In my opinion this is outdated. When this post came out it was VERY difficult to get even 8 items. It was very possible to get to 7 using the cash opens but you needed a lot of luck to get the 8th and 9th. People have spent over a vault and did not get a 10th item! There were many threads about how pissed people were that they spent all this money and didn't get the prize.

Nowadays, it is very possible to get the 10th item using all cash options. I was shocked when doing this myself by using a timer on my phone, sleeping throughout the night, and have a day or two left! If you use gold, you should get the 10th item with no problem. This is why I believe they added a twist to the event. That way gold buyers won't just fly through this and be bored. Now we can spend more!

If you got any more than one Collect-10 final prize for free prior to that golden pistol, Imperial HK Mark 23, (the start of the dramatically increased odds), you were an outlier, not the rule.

There is only 1 modifier in the collect 10. It's the 3% on the explosive for getting 10 notes/letters.

It's just for the first mask. I checked my total bonuses and only the first mask counts toward a 3%+ increase in Total Armor Defense (I have multiple Rioter's Masks as well).

Don't know what you are talking about, perhaps you are confused. The Riot Gas Mask and the Riot Gear Gas Mask are different items, from previous syndicate wars, that happen to have modifiers. The "Rioter's Mask" in the Collect-10 is a different item which does not have a modifier. Further, the graphic used for the "Rioter's Mask" is the same as the one used for the Anarchy Gas Mask, not the same as the one used for the NATO Gas Mask. Make sense? Good.

Don't know how you thought that was condescending. I was obviously joking with the "make sense? good" line, seeing as how there are so many "masks" and recycled graphics that it's hard to keep track. I don't think each item has a specific drop rate, rather drop rates for missing items decrease with each unique item obtained.

Which ever item is last is gonna be the most difficult to find and you're gonna see PLENTY of the same items you already have in your inventory before you get the last one.

I was the first documented free player in the world to completely complete the event without using gold, I finished with 68 hours left in the event. All I can say is I got lucky I had a 70% hit rate on the envelopes and riot items. Only had to open about 34 cases in total.
