I am curious as to what other people do in Arenas. I recently finished in the 6th ribbon. I finished 211X which is the best I have placed. I have my AA 40/50 which is carrying me through my battles. I have noticed that sometimes people on win steaks are the basic gear equipped when I was fighting them. Is this to get a revenge win?

What are your tips to win in Arena? I wanted to make a separate thread so it doesn't get buried in the ask anything thread.

My usual strat is to put my best armor first with a random knight, a strong knight with the best defense and then my knight in my second or third best gear (In defensive stats). That has been working well for me. Any tips or tricks?

This is exactly why. It's less reliable in the beginning of the tournament I've found, but by day 3 it's usually pretty solid.

Mathematically, if you're paying attention to the points and your usage of them more often, it is more beneficial to never double down. However, your strategy isn't a bad one if you don't want to check your game every 50 minutes.

I used to wait a few days and then get my 8/8s. It was nice to see myself rise in the rankings so fast. Now I start from the beginning, and I've moved up about 3 or four ribbons with mostly the same armor. Get revenge wins, and use double down sparingly. Try not to double down after waiting for a period. If you wait too long, (like after expending 5 energy), you will end up against people with the higher "assumed" rank of yourself, counting your double down in. Try using double down and cancelling it when you run out of energy, so you don't get an increased risk of a dangerous opponent later.

You would be surprised at the win streaks. I have faced someone who has in the mid 20's. I slapped him/her so hard it was crazy. I think it it was a lower level player with high leveled gear.

My armor lineup is AA+ 41/50, CA+ 20/50 SG 12/70

Yea true. I've fought some 30+ win streak people that were really easy to beat.

Personally i try to have my champion/strongest knight in the back, w/ best armor,to ensure that he gets a special attack, otherwise i feel that he is taking unnecessary damage without dishing out his best.

Also sometimes that winning streak is misleading, others not so much personally i fought someone on a 86 win streak and they only had 1 star and 2 star armor, and not close to maxed out, killed all with 1 knight. Other times i have fought someone on a 10 win streak and the opposite happened to me :/ i guess it just depends on your luck.

Get 100 weaker friends, beat them everyday.... I still think this should be removed... Ive barely fought at arena today, had a 8 double down because i had 0 pta and everybody was too weak... But only by beating friends i simply got myself from 12.000 to 118. 1:30hours of fighting friends, its a pain and a effing boredom

If I am going to double down, I spend a little more time on it. I will look at who is available to fight and then find them on the leaderboard and check out their profile. If they are way above me in level then I avoid them, if not I will fight them. It helps me out a lot. But again I only do it when I have time to search.

If I am going to double down, I spend a little more time on it. I will look at who is available to fight and then find them on the leaderboard and check out their profile. If they are way above me in level then I avoid them, if not I will fight them. It helps me out a lot. But again I only do it when I have time to search.

Reach level 100 and wear maxed legendary armor. If you are level 100 you've got to be pretty useless to lose to anyone level 95 or below. Put your main knight in 2nd or 3rd place, to ensure they get in at least 1 special hit.

Rotate your elements, so for example you don't have fire in all three armors. It tells you this after every loss, yet I constantly come across people who fail to have rotating elements.

As tredadda says, use double down but check your opponents, especially for the last couple. It's maddening to lose after a 7 win double down. If there's no suitable opponent, wait for the page to refresh. It's rare I can't find someone I can beat when I bother looking.

I've twice run up a 60+ winning streak, the second time without bothering to check my opponents profiles, and I still have a knight in HH+. When I can get him into a level 70 armor I expect to do better.

Nexus 4 here. I do not have Lagg. I think you said earlier you were on an sg3. I am surprised that there is a difference. Crappy sd card perhaps?

Not sure if this is a suggestion or anything, but I find it kind of helpful to add the people regardless of who they are, fight them, and see if I can beat them. If I can't beat them, I hold on to them and see how they progress every day I play after battling them again. I guess you can call it a test of strength. This also kind of gives you a (small) indication of how they're leveling their armors (combined with what level they are).
This is a pretty time-consuming process if you think about it, but I've culled the weak friends and find that the friends I have now are the good ones who are constantly improving. After a few days/battles through PvP, I actually start to delete the lower level people who I have positive winning records against. Say, 4-3 after 7 days (after having lost 3 in a row/first three battles or whatever).
Knowing where to start culling is important, too. As someone who is continuing to lvl, I will tend to only want higher-leveled people and I start culling from there. Maybe around 60 and down.

Lastly, it gives you a few tournament points each time you battle, so that never hurts.

It's just so much work, the friends list...
After the end of the previous tournament, I removed 25+ people from my friend list, which allowed the outstanding friend requests to go down to 8, now it's already up to 40 again! :(

I now decided to make a text file and split the friends into:

- keep (high level and/or good/special armors)
- maybe (high stats for their level in the "hire friends" screen)
- newbies (giving a bit back to those level 20 and below...)
- being evaluated (the new batch of friends I just added; giving them 2-3 days to prove themselves)

Top player on android probably hacks but not I started season at 1112 wins and 114 loses(actually used gems to get my 500+ wins so far to actually reach 20500 points with double downs1600+wins now) only to stop after seeing krosa with the same win and loss ratio from last season get 21500 points instantly. I realized even if he battled his friends list there's just no way and everytime I would get points he gets more to match but his arena wins never changes so w/e I'm done chasing for the black medal achievement. To update I got to 23000 points yesturday and now he's at 32000 points with the same 256 wins and 10 loses......

Depends on how much time u want to put in. Scouting will tell you who u can beat and who to avoid. Patience will the. Let you get 8/8 streaks to maximize points. For this under level 100, defeating those with higher levels gives great points, especially when you get to 7 or 8.

As for those with base armors, it is to get easy revenge wins. I've found it helpful if not guaranteed.

Just thought about it a bit...
3 friend battle wins is equal to an arena shutdown, 3 friend battle losses is more than an arena loss.
At my level (68), that's about 400-500 arena points per day, which is probably equal to about
8-10 "5 arena energy" sessions without double downs in the arena (so I guess that's at least 30% of my daily arena points!).

I've arranged my knights so 1 and 2 don't share any elements and neither do 2 and 3.


Captain Obvious arena tip: if you want to end up high in the rankings, prioritize maxing those arena armors!
(for me leveling my arena LF+ has been competing for resources with leveling an extra CA+ for the epic boss and saving up for the 1 mil expansion... :-| )

Yea I've spent atleast $2000.00 on my account (yea I'm crazy but go hard or go home) and no way I can possibly achieve the stats he was doing. But anywho people should just remember to pm wise one about hackers who appear to be super overpowered. Albert I could careless until he starts appearing in the top spots.

Well, on Android, 3 of the "big four" now gets me to about rank 100, but if I see my opponent for ex. having a Jian, Jackalope or Aegis, I just know my knights will be taken out in 6 strikes or less...

You guys are getting such high ranks Dx. I'm currently about 1600 though and I haven't used friends yet. I think I can finish <2000 but I doubt I;'ll do much better than that this tournament.

The prizes are also not super worth it until like rib1/2.

Scouting is also something I can't do. Usually in the Arena my opponents have at least 300 more placement spots on me. Itll take way to long to scroll through all that. It updates slow

@Bryanv2: if you're playing on iOS, that may be the difference.
On Android it "only" lists 126288 people on the arena leaderboard, while I think I've read 3 times as much listed here on the forum for iOS.

Arena list of people to pick from is narrowing down again from 10 to 4 right now for me; I guess it just wants me to face (my) Punishment... ;)

Im currently 1400, my goal is the 1000-1500 reward for this event. (Whats that armor you get anyways? (Not crius))
Thinking about keeping this point farming up for another 3 days is tiring though lol

than I went back and fought 10-30 at a time here and there. I generally save my higher friends for when they clog up my arena list with people I can't defeat. I fight them on friend list and then they go away on arena list

But its only cheap if you are not spending too much time, any gems, or selling your soul (looking at you -cheaters of the android platform)

I honestly don't consider Arena a complete waste of time like the others, especially if you're new, it's a great way to get Armors for EP and some Gems and Fusion Stones. Currently in the top 600's hoping to get into the 500+ so I can get a 2nd garb for more EP.

Is this a good setup? I win more matches than I lose, but sometimes I get stomped. I am lvl 52, almost 53.

I found that Crius, HH, AA worked very well in the Arena for me. It counters Jian extremely well, and that's very common in the arena.
