View Full Version : Request for Epic Boss data

I'm compiling a post-Deva spreadsheet and have a few holes; I basically want to cross-reference Bethmo's formulas into the boss data, against party data and spit out a plan. I went through the Deva thread which had a lot of data, but there are some holes.
For levels 30-34, 36, 38-39, 41-42, 44-46, 49-50, and 54-60 I'm missing attack, defense, and health stats.
For levels 47-48, and 51-53, I'm missing health only.
If anyone could provide that data, that'd be appreciated.

Are you sure about those numbers? I've got Deva at l51 having just 649 defense, and 1901 attack.

You're right, I'm not sure now so I've removed ones I don't have a screenshot of. They must have been projected figures.

I can verify these numbers for 30-39 are accurate. I'm on level 39 right now.
30 26078 1262 514
31 26426 1288 519
32 26774 1314 525
33 27122 1339 530
34 27470 1365 536
35 29210 1494 563
36 28166 1417 546
37 28514 1443 552
38 28862 1468 557
39 29210 1494 563
The numbers above for 41-43 above look legit. 44-49 look to be too high. After a reward (level 43), the next level (44) usually drops about 5%, then climbs again. I have on my spreadsheet (from someone posting in another thread) that:
50 ? 1701 606
51 ? 1726 611
52 ? ? ?
53 ? 1778 622
Which puts Musketeer's numbers off kilter. I can't verify anything past 39 right now. I got to 32 on Deva and 35 on Wanderer.
Hope this helps,
Jello

Thanks, Jello. I had some projections for the holes, and those numbers fit (the projections are definitely wrong, but they were in the ballpark, and the more holes, the worse all projections were). Also thanks Musketeer!
I'm the source of the other numbers, Jello. :)
I'm now only missing HP starting at level 45, and stats for most levels starting at 45, except 47, 48, 51, 52 and 53.

Awesome, thanks!
You're missing 51 - 1901/649
And have a duplicate in the 50s - I can't edit on my phone, sorry.

I think you're looking at the pseudolevel column instead of the level column?
Level 51 is an award level, so the boss at that level has the stats of a higher level. I call that the pseudolevel. (Perhaps "effective level" would be a better term?) In this case, it has the same stats as level 55.
Here are the rows for levels 51 to 55. Notice that 51 and 55 have the same numbers.
51 55 1,907 649 34,778
52 52 1,830 633 33,734
53 53 1,855 638 34,082
54 54 1,881 644 34,430
55 55 1,907 649 34,778

Numbers in yellow are trend projections based on the previous set's numbers, which while wrong, seems to have been close enough of a ballpark before I had Bethmo and Jello's numbers that few things were wildly off.
I gave this a basic stab at modeling standard line ups; Commander only battles don't factor in the loss of the first hit. I suppose I could throw in some conditional logic, and maybe flatten out things to facilitate A/B testing; but I wanted to throw this out for community criticism.

What I'd like to have is the formula for determining damage given to/received from the Epic Boss. The numbers are always static for a given Boss/Knight combination (one for standard and one for special hit), so there must be a fairly simple formula. We know the base Att/Def numbers, how hard can it be?
Unfortunately I mucked up a Boss battle today trying to jot down the damage figures as they came up, so I'm loathe to try again for a bit.
We would also need to know the %age chance for a total miss (don't you love it when your nemesis guy misses?), and for an automatic special hit (from the Boss or the player), i.e. a special hit that didn't require you to empty the meter.

It's quite possible to do, but it took some practice for me to master. :)

Yes, that would be nice to know. For lack of anything better, I do my what-to-use-on-boss calculations figuring the boss will get 10% extra damage and mine will get none (that is, specials/criticals and misses will balance each other out) and that seems to be good for a pessimistic estimate -- I rarely do less damage than that, and usually exceed it by quite a bit.

Version 2 may be of interest -

The model assumes misses and crits equal out; this obviously is left to luck of the die.
Edit -
Locally, in Excel, one can run simulations. Tab two.

At first glance this looks like really nice work, Bearsuo. I'll take a closer look when I have more time.

I realized that there are a number of underlying errors in the sheet. I can't upload my revisions until the end of day, but the portion of the formulas dependent on pseudo level times 1.6 plus 43 are grouping wrong in the posted version.
I also think I'm rounding wrong, but the model I have resembles what I recall of my 43 fight a bit better.
