Aussie CashBoxes Event slower to trigger a cashbox

I had to hit 22 times and finally received my 1st cashbox for this event. I'm a LV 68 and was hitting individuals of various LV's even very close my stats, various raids on cash buildings, other buildings, defensive items, etc. Finally got one on my last stam point left (22 is full for me) when hitting an individual. (happened to be a very low stats person like in the teens when I'm close to 100)

Is this what others are finding or cashboxes popping up every few hits like it was for me in all previous box events.

I received the cash boxes pretty regularly, but getting coins has been beyond rare for me. I've collected over 150 cash boxes, but only have four coins so far. Doing free and cash - no gold. I've hit it every hour today since 7am...nada. Won some cash and a 100pt copter...but no coins.
