You can't. You have to start at level 1 and upgrade each time. Forts can get really expensive and use up tons of bricks. Would be nice if a level 10 only cost what it takes to upgrade to 10 from 9.

Maybe you have already figured out which fortification level to choose, but might not want to go past LV 4 or 5 depending on the range in strength and activity of the opponents you have been facing in battles. LV 10's might be great but they are in many cases too expensive for the value they provide. Winning by keeping your opponent from scoring or scoring big is nice and winning keeps moral up within your faction, but there's no other value for winning vs losing since no extra points or reward are given for a win etc. The money for a lot of expensive walls can go towards faction bonuses that will help you get more points.

It depends on how much concrete and money you have in the bank, but i would say mostly level 4-5 if your medium but if your fac donates alot then maybe like level 7

It depends where your faction ranks for top 1500-4000 level 4/5/6
Top 1000/750 level 6/7/8
Top 500/400/250 7/8/9
Top 150/100/75/50 10
Top 25 10
Top 10 10
1/2/3 screw fortifications

I agree with the cow. We range from about 270 to the mid-500s (Poland). And we generally use level 6-8 walls. Enough to keep our opponents at bay for an extra 10-15 minutes, sometimes more, sometimes but seldom less, but not too expensive so that we can use those extra dollars to continue our faction upgrades.

So, can someone help me out with understanding fortifications? Our faction is debating how useful they really are. As far as I understand, they simply inhibit the points that another team scores against you. Is there anything more to it? If a wall is not destroyed in a battle, can it be used in the next one?
thanks for any help!

Snibes forfifications do not keep other team from scoring on you. While they are up, they only score half wdp than if your fortfications were down. Breaking fortification is key to scoring massive pts from beating other faction players.

Walls are used every battle so walls can't be saved.

So, I guess, my point is that if we have a wall, it does not help us as a faction score more or less points during that battle, correct? It would simply limit the amount of WDP's that a team can score when they attack one of our players while that wall is up and active. Is there something else that I'm missing here?

yep it also make them lose attack on the wall so less attack on your members so less casuality!

So, in the end, it really doesn't help our faction score more points. The best argument you could make for a wall is that it limits opponents from scoring more points and therefore enables your faction to move higher in the scoring bracket, right?

That is correct but using a wall is sometimes important if you are on the edge of a a tier eg 750/500/250 etc they can limit the amount the people behind you score therefore giving you a top finish
