If it's in your "goals list", can you not just click on the goal?

Is it at the top of your list?

If you have the event in your goals list + you have the splash screen, then try a mix of robbing, fighting and jobs (canal street).

Make sure that you have a good WiFi connection. I had this happen to me once already because I don't have access to the good WiFi I normally use. One hour later the boss appeared with 1 hour left on the timer.

I've been thinking about that.
Say you hit common or even uncommon and don't want that. I think you could just wait for 2 hours for the boss to go away, then hope you hit rare the next time.
Of course, this would only be interesting if you are not in a hurry to get the big prize at L50.

boss lv21 1 uncommon, 0 rare. mostly money hits some free.
