I suppose this shouldn't come as a surprise, but the upgrade modifiers are off.

Yesterday I went to check on what it would cost to upgrade my Pagoda to L7. $319M base cost times (100-30)% = $223.3M, right?

Wrong. You're doing regular math, silly. Using Gree math this comes out to $227,765,597. Carrying the one...that's a 28.6% discount. Oh the savings!

All this time I was wondering why it looked like a murder-mystery slaughter during the rounding phase. The more you know....

Thats not the point. He is bringing up the fact that the modifier has to be 30% off, not 28.6% off, regardless of how much money he is saving or not. This becomes worst when upgrades are above 2 billion (where you would would have to pay and extra 28million "1.6% of 2 billion"). No need to troll or be a douchebag about it.

My info says the base cost of the Chinese Pagoda L7 is $325,379,432. That means the $227,765,597 is exactly 70% of the base cost. Where did you get $319M from?

This is right.

I suppose I may have mis-entered it, but the costs just seem odd when there's not a few 0's.

It's generally unlike Gree to use numbers like $325,379,432 when $319,000,000 looks so much cleaner. Does your NC2 upgrade show $46,760,000 or $47,695,116?
This is right.

http://www.funzio.com/forum/showthread.php?53902-Pagoda-PandamoniumI'm going to go out on a limb and guess Beardy had a modifier when he was recording his costs. We'd need his confirmation, though...or the world may never know.

mxz,

Just last weekend I looked at the base costs of buildings, and the formula is consistent for both types A and B. It's a little strange, though. This is what I came up with:

Level Multiplier
1 1.00000000
2 1.67000000
3 2.78889600
4 4.65745600
5 7.77796000
6 12.9891920
7 21.6919600
8 36.2255680
9 60.4967040
10 101.029504

I imagine there's some rime or reason to it (logarithm or 12th root of 2 or something), but haven't looked at it too closely.

So then a level 7 Pagoda is 21.69196 * 15,000,000 = $325,379,400. 70% of that is $227,765,580, which is only $17 off of what you're showing. I guess the precision is off by a miniscule percentage.

I used that formula to calculate the costs of the Transtech building, and so far it shows to be accurate.

Try this on for size: (level n cost) = (level 1 cost)*1.67^(n-1)

Bingo! Give Didas a cigar!

It's interesting, MW and KA follow the same pattern, but the upgrade costs in those games are all rounded off.

I thought it was common knowledge that upgrades went up x1.67 each level. I'm pretty sure I learned that on this forum.

Common forum knowledge doesn't equate to common CC knowledge.

Agreed. But the OP is a forum regular, which is why I'm surprised that this thread exists.
