Why do people have to make a post on here when they leave the game?

1. Make the rest of us feel bad for continuing on
2. Justify wasting all that time and money
3. Make a clean break so you will be less likely to come back and feel foolish for leaving and everyone saying "you'll be back"
4. Making your SO happy by saying "look I am quitting the game like I promised and not spend every waking hour obsessing about it."
5. Making a grand exit so all you work will not have gone for naught.
6. Deceiving your SO into thinking you have quit but now you can play on the QT

When I go I will just disappear, no announcement, nothing.

No one has ever left this game, some haven't visited their base in a long while however.

Maybe they are just being polite and feel it gives them closure, why put them down? If that's what they want to do fine, its a public forum. Good luck to them.

why do you feel the need to create a thread to criticize them for creating a thread?????

see it works both ways.

you beat me to it. I find your thread 10x more annoying than their announcements. Not trolling, just expressing my opinion that you are wasting space with your thread. Thanks.

i agree, its like ending a story, you dont leave a cliffhanger because that means a sequel. posting your leaving is putting an end to your story of modern war, btw pun members would have a bible sized book.

For the same reason Facebook exists. People think they are far more interesting and important than they really are.

I am a huge Larry David fan too. I think Curb Your Enthusiasm was one of the funniest shows ever.

I would not call this trolling just making some observations that not only pertain to this forum but others as well. Basically people either complain or seek or give advice on here. I like to be different.
