The reason Alex is the most common name is cuz when you initially start the game it gives you the name Alex and then later gives you the option to change it but apparently most don't! To many Alex's! Haha!

Alex is the most common across all the games. As stated before, if your name in offensive, Gree will change your name to Alex. Others also use this fact to hide from pesky raiders that they just can't shake.

It's not that game starts as an Alex. It's when you transfer your player, the device you transfer from will have a default name of Alex. If you want to change it, that will cost you 50 gems

Alex is the default name KA gives you when you first create a character. At some point they give you the option to pick a name. My guess is a lot of people don't realize they can change it and end up leaving it at Alex. 50 gems can change that though. How bogus is that though. Pay to change your name. Ughhhhhhhh.
