It's been a fun ride at crime city for me. It looks like I'll be calling it quits. I was due to receive a gold bonus for the $1000 tier for the month of May. Gree has flat out told me I won't get it. For this, I'm calling it quits. I won't even remain as a free player.

I started playing back in December 2012. I've spent about $4k on the game. I was seriously gonna make a run at the $2000 tier for the month of June. It kills me to think that a company would risk losing me as a customer over something like this. I've clearly spent some serious cash, and my purchases have gone up month over month. All that info is there for gree to see.

I know that we've had reasonable discussions on how much money players spend on the game. I feel that my limit was always good for me. So it's not about the free good. It's about the principle of not getting what I paid for. I can get over the lame customer support. But I can't get over this.

I've met some great people in game and in the forums. It's all been good times. I've never taken anything personal. So if I've left a sour taste anywhere, i sincerely apologize.

If you did spend enough to qualify for the bonus and Gree won't give it to you that is bang out of order.

If gree wont honor your gold bonus then it constitutes theft. And could be punishable by law. I would look into legal action

^^ wrong. Bonuses are not purchased, they are given by gree as a way of circumventing apples limitation on purchase prices. It is just a quantity discount and he didnt get it. Thats not theft.

There's two sides to every story and I'm sure GREE has they're reasons (whether people agree with them or not) I've just never seen the point in "goodbye" threads. For whatever it's worth i hope you have a great life and congratulations!

PS: Try using that disposable income on something useful like drugs, classy hookers, or one of those tiny midgets that follow you around and throw out one line zingers whenever you find yourself in a verbal battle of wits. Just listing off a few reasonable purchases. ;)

Here's the reason they're giving me:
They're telling me that I hadn't enrolled in to the program. Since I didn't email requesting in, I don't get the bonus. While that may be common knowledge among normal recipients of the gold program, I had different information.

Through the course of a ticket email, a gree rep tells me that players are auto-enrolled in to the program when they buy the necessary amount in a given month. How is one to interpret that other than sit back spend away and you'll get your bonus.

I included a screenshot of that conversation to the rep. They weren't having it. The amount I spent isn't in question. It hasn't been brought up at all.

Why make this thread? To bring awareness. That's all. We all know gree doesn't have the best support. But this is something completely different. I'll attempt to get a refund from apple. But even if I do, I bought all my gold with gift cards. So it's not like I'll get anything back.

I for one am still waiting for gree response on this as i havent received my gold yet either only difference i have to confirmation of enrolling in the gold program. So far only been told that a specialist is looking into it :-s and we know how slow these guys are.......

It took just under a month and a dozen tickets for them to give me my April bonus. The second to last one they said that since I signed up in April, April spending didn't count. I had to single out the specific paragraph where it said that spending would start being tracked the calendar month I signed up.

I was amazed by the inaction, cluelessness, and tickets closed without an update.

It is the case that some bonuses aren't being applied since the program was automated.

I've had all of my accounts enrolled in the bonus program since February this year yet i did receive my MW bonus for May and had to buy full price vaults to make it into the top 50 of the last leader board event which i'm not happy about and should probably be compensated for.

Its been 15 days since i raised ticket 636822 and still no bonus, if you can help me out Assault and Flattery it would be much appreicated.

I think what they meant by "automatic" was that they would allocate even fewer customer service reps to deal with gold bonuses than before. I don't know how you can call a program "automatic" when literally nothing has changed on the customer's end-- "automatic gold bonuses" sounds to most people like all you need to do is spend the money and the bonus will be awarded automatically, not that you still have to register to enroll in an unadvertised program. And if such a system is automated, how do you explain the large number of people who are enrolled in the program and spend more than enough money to qualify for a bonus not receiving one? Not only have I heard this complaint numerous times here, but from my syndicate members as well. Or does this "automatic" gold program always wait until after the next syndicate war to award bonuses? It seems like GREE's automatic gold program is running on a machine that uses an abacus or something.

Either way, I think the OP was wronged. Excuse him for not following the rules of an unadvertised unspoken provram that purports to award gold bonuses "automatically." GREE gives paying customers the D and wonders why their company is flailing.

Automatic in this case means not done by hand. There used to have a poor support person going into every account and adding the bonus, now they don't have to do that. There are still some edge cases that slip through but it's a lot faster than it used to be.

Perhaps I'm being overly cynical, but my April gold bonus came on May 7th, when the syndicate war lasted from May 3rd - May 6th, forcing me to buy more gold just for the war. I'll be less cynical if my syndicate members who have still not received their bonus do so before the start of the upcoming syndicate war, which seems increasingly unlikely. It makes no sense to me how an automatic program isn't awarding bonuses on the first of the following month at 12:01am, as opposed to 7-21 days later.

I played game for months, spending money, before learning of bonus program, and I'm certain many other players have also. We never received bonuses just because we spent money. It's players responsibility to make sure they are enrolled in program, not gree.

And where does it clearly state that? Where could someone who has never visited the forum find that information? I learned about the bonus program from other players on the forum, not from GREE. GREE doesn't clear state anything about the bonus program publicly.

Ok that's great. Then I count on that my bought 80 dollars vaults, in April, will be counted as 80 dollars and nothing else (so I don't have to send in another ticket which is unanswered) and that I should get the bonus during the first week (10 days)in May automatically?


Wouldn't it be good if players could log in with their email or player id (like the request site) and see their current spent amount? Then the Bonus Claim department would get a very less tickets regarding how far players have to a certain tier etc.


Yes to the first paragraph, as long as you got the "welcome" email or were previously in the program (people still need to contact us to get added, if they haven't already. If you've gotten a response from us that outlines the details and says welcome aboard, you're good to go). The reason we have a couple of days between the end of the month and the bonus going out is because we want to make sure that everyone new is signed up (we typically get a burst of requests to join on the last two or three days of any given month, and putting someone's info in the system so that they can get a bonus is still done by hand).


And yes, that second paragraph is in the cards.

You can contact support through the game, and the might tell you to check the forum for information (I can't remember where, but I saw this in a ticket somewhere, basically support telling someone to ask the forum members for help with something). Further, an admin reply to a topic isn't especially common, and I'd be willing to bet 99% of the people in the gold bonus program heard about it from someone else in the program-- perhaps I'm wrong to say that it "isn't publicized at all," but it certainly isn't widely publicized.

The old contact information leads me to believe that someone has forgotten this page exists in-game. Another oversight if that is the case. They do make it quite easy for the uninformed player to discover the forum, which is (or was) a game changer.

Well, touche. You're right, there is a link to the forums in the Help menu. I still stand by my statement that the gold bonus program isn't widely publicized. Even when they changed how the program works, I believe they did so by email current bonus members, as opposed to posting it on the forums somewhere.

I think if you go back and read the quote over again, you would realize that he did not specifically state the 4k was anyone's life savings, and his last sentence was addressing the collective, not the individual. He's probably not allowed to. I don't believe you're supposed to post the results of tickets. I'd guess GREE wouldn't want people to know they bend the rules a little bit for gold spenders from time to time.
