Price of crates going up?

They can be a really good investment if your desire is to buy gear to get a jump start in the game or a really investment bad one depending on which set of crates you spend gold on. I did some of the higher output tap joy stuff when I first started and had some spare gold to do some experimenting with them. I found on one set of crates the common prizes will be around 150-160 net stat increase (98/62) while in a different edition of crates you'll get commons that are more 50-60 net stat increases (26/24). Very disappointing. You tend to get the same commons for the same type of crates and that can make the net total stat increase on crates excellent or horrible. Nobody spends to get the commons but you will get a lot of those kinds of items if you buy a lot of crates. Sometimes editions of crates are a real bargain for your gold haul (way better than even the limited time items for gold spent) and sometimes you're better off buying scratchers.... and of course you can get really lucky as you did with the F12 wildfire :). My feelings now is you're better off spending gold on events such as the LTQ where you know exactly how many resources for the stat output or helping your syndicate out to win a higher tier of prizes. No gambling rush when you win big but overall a better investment for the stat haul gained.

Well, in all fairness, I opened five and got three rares. Just the on eF12. Just recently there was a set that had an explosive for a common. I'm always looking for explosives. So I see a set with explosives in the common slot as having great value.

Though what's the scoop on the price increase? Sure, bigger prizes, but what up wit dat?

If they bump the items towards the higher quality end.... that is probably a fair price bump. All the items need to be "comparable" in value in some way.

Under store, go to special. They are listed as smugglers crates. They change them around every week or so I believe.

Kinda caught me off guard when I saw it the other day. I finally noticed that f12 and decided to pull the trigger on it.

Didn't they skew the percentages of the rares with the latest crates when they upped the price to 250? Isn't the rares something like 1%-4.5%-4.5%?
