So that there is even more opportunities to spend gold? No thanks.

Of course. 1 st place in MW has 60 mil battle points.

They'd have to implement some kind of scoring system to do it, and given their love of merely porting the same code from one game to another, I don't see it happening.

I don't know how you would possibly set up a tournament without messin some high spending syndicates over (e.g. anyone who matches FC in such a tournament). The current system allows everyone to compete against each other at once, and allows syndicates with weaker players to overcome that difference by spending more on gold. In a tournament with one team pitted against another to decide who to advance, you'll have a large percentage of matchups where one team won't bother to even waste gold on losing. That plus knocking out teams willing to spend a lot of gold too early in such a tournament, and I can't see any way in which it could work.

It doesn't work that way, Bigmoney, at least not right now. It's more like the old PvP events we had on CC, only using the MW battle points as currency (you gain them in attacks/raids and they allow you to advance through ranks that offer progressively better valor/respect units). There's an individual ladder for these points in the tournament and a faction ladder. It's basically a much crappier version of domination events with bad rewards and almost no strategy involved.

You'll have to forgive me, I've never played MW. What are raids, are those like our robs? I guess I'm not understanding the "tournament" aspect of that. Each person in a syndicate gets points for attacking/robbing whoever, and then those points are summed up to determine if you beat the syndicate you're facing in the tournament?

Yes, raids = robs. And you've basically got the point, except your faction doesn't face any other group specifically. There's just a ladder for who has the most points, both on an individual level and a faction level.

I feel like a bracket is a pretty integral part of a "tournament." That just sounds like a free-for-all.
