What does the common player use against this weeks boss? I've advanced only till Misty Marsh and i only have the big 4. Should i farm for a Spectral Captain and max it just for this boss? Tried fusing for a sky guardian but i've got no luck with fusing :(

Thats my dilemma right there. I managed to hit 43 on the last boss and i want to hit 43 on this one too, the stats onthe + are dope.

I play on android, so I'm really fortunate that it doesn't take much to get a leveled boss armor from being in the top 25. I think this time around I finished 7th and was in 6th at one point. There don't seem to be many active level 100 players, Aradan and Ocarin seem to post here and I still can't defeat them, not sure who else is on here.

I'm level 77 at the moment, and by avoiding Luxus, Spock, Sir Vidduongs, Choice, Aradan, and Ocarin I can get good double down streaks in arena. No chance of Gold let alone Black in either event though

anyway, since there aren't a lot of active high level players, I really only get 3 of my 5 fights with 2 strong players, and certainly not all with Nemesis armors each week. I might have reached 35 this week if that, probably only 28 or 1 or 2 past

Max the starsong shroud first. Probably should go for the roc feather+ cause I don't find the point in making a spectral captain+ that has the same element combination as your starsong shroud just for the boss. At least when you max the roc+ you'll have a different element combination for use in the future.

I'd advice maxing your ss+ first and just using one of the Big 4, start working on getting one of the other boss armors up instead a second armor set for this one.

yes i love that fact, im only level 68(and i've been leveling stupidly slowly, like maybe 1 level a day sometimes not even that since level 50). I think I was advancing way to fast because by time i reached level 50 i already unlocked zepher plains, and im like ok this is stupid time to slow down and focus 100% on farming snakeskins to level gears and finish off my castle, need 1 more armorsmith and 1 more training field but waiting so i can finish those stupid building quests)

I think the reason you might have trouble beating me roark is solely because of my Jians armor, and possibly by jians nemesis which is so beast(at least for android users since so many of them are stupid and level retarded armors, or are trying to level their 70's without proper resources yet). I have my Jians + armor nearly maxed so it is extremely powerful compared to most players in the arena, and i only have to avoid the same players as you really, and most those fights are close even with a 20-30 level difference. Except Luxus, him and his armors are just to highly leveled for me to even compete even with element advantage.

Sadly im stuck with you where im never going to win a black medal, just because of how much some of these people are spending on arena energy, but im happy spending nothing and winning gold/silver since i will get a much higher return compared to those people like kyle or spiderman who are losing much more then they gain. Pretty sure Kyle is going to be the android version of King with how much he spends, well if he gets a brain and uses his gems more wisely that is.

FYI you do beat me sometimes and its super annoying when you do.

Just guessing, but I assume iOS players only play against other iOS players and Android players only play against Android players. If that's the case, there are fewer people to compete against and most don't know the strategies yet.

exactly what flipdaddy said. Android is in its beta version, and as far as i know its only been released in Canada and Australia, so no where near as many people competing, and doesn't seem like any of them know about this forum so they don't know much about any armors, strategies and what not. And seems like most of them are wasting a lot of time and resources in pointless armors, and more people seem to use gems on epic energy and arena energy over dpc's as the best thing i've seen come out of it that anyone wears is one sky guardian and my Dragon Tamer costume(that i don't actually use). There is no kaleidoscopes or any of those op armors that have been released from dpc's yet.

I noticed a huge difference after capping big 4 and defeating people that used to destroy me, although I do find it weird to be able to defeat people on my Revenge Kill list. There's one person, Jack Daniels I think, who a couple missed swings can decide the battle

beyond that I don't fully understand why one player should be able to defeat the one who can defeat him. Perhaps it's the poor AI when the special move is used at a sliver of health

I'm also having a lot of fun playing free although I was tempted to buy enough gems to upgrade training yards, glad I saved myself a hundred bucks. I'm super thankful for the gem rewards in arena so I can upgrade my training yards. Too much enhancing has slowed down my expansion, I feel like I only net 100k per day with 2 of 11 upgraded as yet

And ya, Luxus lol, he's amazing. Him, Choice and one other still hit my capped big4 level 79 (now) for 350-580 on a regular swing/crit and with not much more than Infernal or even Hydra Hunter

I would agree that non-plus is 'always' worse than plus, but going beyond that with absolutes gets a bit dicey.

I don't have the final numbers, but it looks like maxed Jackalope Basic will be better than Spectral Captain + and very nearly good as Swamp Shaman +. I'm basing this on the delta between basic and plus armors already elucidated on the spreadsheet. If maxed Jackalope + has a total strength of 2,224, this puts it in the same range as Jian's +, Flame Summoner's + and Storm Sorcerer +. They all have about an 400-point delta between Plus and Basic. Thus, Jackalope Basic ought to end up at about a total strength in the 1800-1850 range, which would be the best armor I will be able to get for some time. That and I think Jackalopes are hilarious, so I might go for it. Granted, I know there are other things to take into account such as the elemental bonuses of the armor and whether it is biased toward offence or defence, but I'm not hardcore, I'm just here to have fun.

So, if there's something I missed conceptually,please correct me; I'm relatively new to the game and I appreciate thought-provoking discussion. But in the meantime, I'm going to rock the Jackalope!

The jackalope chaingarb has the stats 943/927, which will still lose to swamp shaman+'s 816/1120 stats. You're better off just going for the swamp shaman+ - which has almost 200 more defense while having 100 less defense. Leveling a 70 armor takes a large amount of resuorces - roughly 3 million gold by the way. Anyways you should be going for the decent 70+ storyline armors to get your first 43 boss kill, swamp shaman+, dark prince+ and infernal+, along with the big 4 and high leveled friends.

Okay let me clarify my own post and explain to you why go plus or go home. Deathexe already did a fair amount of explaining though but i'll give you my thoughts.
There are armors where the nonplus version is definatly worth leveling. These are armors like Aegis of the Dragon, Black Kale, Blackfrost, Boilerplate and some other "high end" legendaries. They have stats that are better than the story armors and equal or better than most boss armors. They are also harder to get so if it would fit your troops well, i'd say go for it. But like I said, I only find it worth my time for these kind of armors.

For the newer players it is nice to kill the boss at level 15 and obtain the ability to already craft a legendary armor. It would seem for them that it is an amazing armor compared to the stuff they have. But they overlook the work and effort that is needed to get a legendary armor to it's maximum level. I'm of the opinion that if you can only reach (means killing the prior level) level 16 and not 44 you're not able to take care of the armor. Your simply underleveled and you dont have enough funds for it. Now I reacted to the fellow forummember who had earned his first non plus boss armor. Like many other forummembers I'm of opinion that people should focus on maxing the big four (or some of those) because that is much easier. That being said I have three core reasons why you shouldnt go for nonplus to use in bossfights and arena.

1. If you are a low leveled player it takes too much time and effort to enhance a legendary armor to the max. It costs over 3 million gold and takes a lot of farming and crafting time to complete it. Leveling the armor will stand in your way of progressing.
2. By the time you are 100ish you should be able to at least reach 44, which would mean you can craft a plus version. If you weren't able to get enough mats for the plus version you missed out on the boss armor and you don't craft it. Go craft a story armor like shaman+ cause it is simply better statwise. There will always be good story alternatives.
3. It takes a long time for a legendary to craft. (2 days @unupgraded armory) This time is vital to use for crafting other armors to enhance. A nonplus armors stats are so weak that they are easily replaced. Crafting it will cost you a valuable armorslot.

This explanation is based on the crafting of all armors. Not on nonplus legendaries from the DPC like I mentioned earlier. I hope I gave you some more insight about the boss armors. Good luck with defeating and crafting!

I also find the jackalope a nice armor (crafting+ as we speak) but my whole point is to get priorities in the game. The faster you'll reach 100 the more progress you will get on the boss!

Gems aren't required, but it does take: a high level, good armor, good strong friends. Though gems don't hurt of course

To hit 60, so far for me at least, at level 108, I've had to have Nemises and this week I had to buy epic energy once. Last time two times, I was 100+ and had nemises, but didn't have to buy energy, just had to properly manage my energy and friends.
