I started at the train station (North Africa Map) and worked backwards. Figured I'd get the harder ones out the way first.

pre staging is doing missions on the map that require more than one tap, for example in the dictators compound, the palace needs 4 taps to complete. pre staging is doing (in this case) 3 out of 4 taps, so if that mission is in an ltq its doesn't require a shedload of energy, just the one tap, hope this helped.

I'm prestaging as much as possible until next ltq even though last one sucked. Be careful when prestaging though, if you accidentally finish every mission on a map, say dictators compound again, it will reset the prestages you have on that map and you have to start over

I would recommend doing it so that you have the optionality, ie in case someone does a walk through and you find it worth to proceed. If you don't pre stage at all, it will be a ton of work, and fair or not, it is clear that they will likely not dial back the energy required given the pre staging. Maybe we can hope for better units, but again I think the energy required will still be high. But who am I to know.

Half of what I prestaged on the LTQ after the last war dissappeared, meaning I doubled up on XP gain in some areas. The last LTQ was terrible, so I've decided not to prestage at all and will only participate if there's a juicy carrot on offer (ie something with a bonus)

So, so far I've heard "train station". Out of thousands of members, that's the only feedback I get???

Here are the recent LTQs and the highest map in normal mode/prestige mode.
Enemy Unknown International Quarter (26)/Government Area (28)
Catch a Thief International Quarter (26) / Overrun Airbase (35)
Extreme Measures Emir Island (17) / International Quarter (26)
Task Force Alpha Bombmaker Compound (25) / Capital Prefecture (36)
Operation Wolf Trident Beachhead (22) / Steel Plant (29)
I have been starting at map 1 and prestaging everything as far as I can
(this time I got to map 20) until about 3 days before the next LTQ.
At that time I prestage the boss of the maps (the target with >10 hits required)
through map 26. Then I go back to map 21 and do the "sub boss," the target
requiring 5 or 6 hits, etc. Given that they have changed things around
several times, it is just a guess at what prestaging is most helpful!
