Excellent effort and strategy by Sunnyvale. Very good work by them to pass us in the last 3 hours. Now we all have to hit the streets with some mugs.

How much gold per player are you guys spending to be top 10?

if you need to ask, you can't afford it. some are spending as much for top 25. difference is no passengers.

Hard to say really. What did top 10 finish at, somewhere around 14 million or so? If you use a rough estimate of 100k per vault, that's like 140 vaults or 210,000 gold. Roughly $11k USD of discounted vaults, not counting gold bonuses and whatnot should get you close.

FwD finished 10th with 14,182,322 IP.

Yeah cut it a little close there.

For those who plan on sitting at 11 and pushing at the end, don't.

I donate a lot more to my church than I do to Gree :)

Edit: btw, it's ABOUT $183 USD per person for Top 10.

I can afford to but don't want to spend as heavily to be in a Top 10 team. Will tire of this game eventually and dont care for a huge sunk cost. Others are able to spend the money and kudos to them for subsidizing the game for the rest.

Different strokes for different folks!!

I do wish Gree gives players a fair return and good customer service for the time and money spent by us.

I have been part of the group baffled at 'what it must cost' to be in the top spots. In reality it doesn't cost as much as many think. I does cost something but it ain't necessarily obscene amounts of money. using MT's calculation which I think is generally reasonable, it has to be discounted further to account for the bonus. Now, easy to say that most would not buy enough to get the bonus and this is where the money pools come in. Those who play smart at the top make sure to get max gold bonus and funnel the money and thereby gold purchases and bonus to the highest ip getters. So less than $100 per member on average to secure top 10. Honestly, the myth of extreme expense probably suits the top teams well; always great to scare would be competitors.

You can have any opinion about spending between $50-100 on one war; mine is straightforward seeing which crew I am with. I chose not to. Thanks for paying for my game guys; not being #smugorwhateverthisannoyingnewthingis

Why do I think I know anything about this? NGF has attracted a good number of former top team members who has chosen to retire from spending on the game, it has been educational to talk to them about their experience.

We don't have any ex FC yet, maybe soon?

I see a lot of old forum members who previously did not spend gold in the top syndicates. It seems that the top 100+ is less about free v.s. gold and more about having a syndicate full of moderate to heavy spenders. If you are spending gold in a "free" syndicate you are the one carrying the weight. As per usual forum members are ahead of the curve and reap the rewards. We all understand the game and how it works for us and how gree/funzio controls our desires to spend real money on certain rewards. Some of the old free players have begun to spend gold because we understand the mechanics and what that gold used to be worth has lessened and the berry is sweeter.

Even if you are going to war for free with proper strategy there is no way to make it into the top 250. In a full 60 syndicate every member would have had to have averaged 21k IP to break 250 in the last war. The majority of the syndicates near the top 250 have a equal amount of gold spenders and free players. The real strategy to the wars is not how or when you attack but who is is your syndicate and how much are you as a group willing to spend? That being said who is tired of carrying the dead weight and wants to get into the real rankings?

Second sentence is factually correct. First is not. NGF has finished top250 every time and the majority of times at the top of 250. We do not have a single gold spender. I personally have averaged 49K points per war (and I am not DL); our group average is around 28K. Many hours and tight organization behind this. We have not yet played with 60 members. NGF is not the norm though, and I do believe it is the high watermark of true free play.

The majority of the syndicates near the top 250 have a equal amount of gold spenders and free players.

This may be inching toward being true. We lost a lot of ground this last war. Down to 155 from 122. I don't think it takes an equal amount of gold spenders; even a handful moderate spenders would make a big difference IF the rest of the team is active.

Let's re-examine after next war. NGF will enter in full force; let's see what 60 motivated, organized free players can do. It will be harder than ever with the new 150 bracket. I predicted this bracket to come, to me it was where the general cutoff of gold spend requirement seemed to would end up once most spenders had filtered upwards. Now gold won't guarantee at top150 of course. But let us see if 150 will be what cannot be obtained without gold.

Two peas in a pod, you two are. 👍

I agree, though much of it depends on stats and bonuses. 65k is probably on the high side, but I've seen it done for free. Not sure how many of those points were defensive wins though and that's probably way too high for a whole team to average, since SOMEBODY has to take out the DL and wall and scout.
