Off top, without factoring in anything else, the best ways to get top value from your gold is through boss events, LTQ's, crates and 2-item LE sets (like the one currently available).

Now, which of those is best for you depends on your play style, level and the strength of the last item you take into battle.

For example, if I am a level 75 camper, using gold for LTQ's would be inconsistent with my play style because of the amount of XP gains you receive from completing mission. I would probably spent my gold on either crates or LE sets. Now whether or not I chose to spend gold on crates or LE sets strongly depends on the current strength of my army.

If I'm already running with a really strong, all gold army, then the LE set may be the way to go since they usually offer strong individual units as opposed to crates offering 3 mediocre ones (unless you're really lucky of course). The net strength you would receive from 1 strong unit out weighs the net strength you'd receive from 3 mediocre ones, that may not even make it to battle.

So the answer to your question is not that simple. But I will say this...

NEVER SPEND YOUR GOLD ON:
1)Scratchers
2)Allies
3)Defensive Buildings
4)Money Buildings

No legitiment answers yet. What gets you the best value for your money. Join the discussion. Clearly the ltq is not the best option. Crates? Scratchers? Special units? Energy for missions?

Read the other threads before they are deleted. Information that saves you from buying fake gold is the best value and its free.

I have already purchased gold and my intentions was to go after devin, but seeing how I would have to purchase a lot more than original intended. I wanna get the best bang for my buck. It seems the LTQ is not the best option. I was thinking of looking for this LE set's and picking up some crates and hope for good units.

I could never in good conscience recommend buying crates. They're far too expensive for what you get for them. If you're gonna buy units, which I don't recommend at all, stick with the two-LE unit sets. Otherwise, as someone said previously, save it for LTQs and boss events. Also make sure you buy a composites factory before making any other gold purchase, if you haven't already. It's a scaling stat increase that will never be replaced.

be patient and use it for a better ltq or bosses :)

Your first buy should be IMO is the Composites factory!

This depends a lot on your level. For a brand new player the crate events since you are locked out of LTQs. In fact as a brand new player just one three pack will make quite a difference with only 1 ally.

For a higher level player this has changed a lot with the latest LTQ which is not as good as previous ones, still for a light gold spender in the lower levels of the event if you can 'buy' a unit for no more than 1 20 gold energy refill it is worth it. But another factor is how much energy you have. Since the game caps a refill at 1000 energy it is prudent to have at least 1000 in order to get the most value out of a refill otherwise I don't think spending gold is worth it.

Probably the biggest waste of gold IMHO is health regens during battle unless your faction is very close to a prize level near the end of the event. Then it may be worth it to try and bump into that level.

But in the end currently I would not spend gold.....

Hey AO - did anyone ever tell you that's one AWESOME avatar you're sporting? It's super nice with that custom Orange color to match your name - LoL

Now - On topic - if you got a lot of Gold - the LE set (espcially when Gree purposely puts out a broken set like right now) seems to give you the best Attack / Def boost for your bars. After that - Boss events to get you to the 35, 40, 45, 50th prizes.

2 LE sets on my lowest account made me untouchable at those low levels :0

Ok -Tip for Noob:

Question: What is a LE set?
Answer: A normal Limited Edition (LE) set shows up on the splash screen with 3 of the 4 LE units on sale at that moment. When you select your Menu / Store / Special buttons - you will see ALL 4 units for that LE set. It usually cost about a vault of gold or slightly more to get ALL 4 units - but Gree throws in a Bonus unit - Rare is usually 600 att range - Uncommon is usually over 1k and lately the rare is over 2k unit. It is those rare units that make the LE set the best value.

Q: What is a Broken LE set?
A: When you are in the "Special" menu - click on the "?" at the bottom left of a "LIMITED" item and you will see the Bonus units for that set. Sometimes (obviously on purpose) - The set in this screen will only show 2 items to buy to get the bonus item. Just hit the "Buy All" button and it will automatically make the LE set (or Broken LE set) purchase and in a few moments give you the Bonus Item.

Super Secret Tip:
Take a snapshot of every LE set from the Bonus Set screen. Sometimes a "broken" set stays broken forever & all you have to do is locate one of those LE Items (2 if a broken set is still broken or 4 of a regular LE set) items in your inventory or someone else's - click "Buy" from their inventory - it will re-open the Limited Edition Bonus Set Screen - then you can buy the second LE item (DO NOT press the Buy all since you already bought one of the items or it will buy all of the items again for you) to complete that set - and Wallah - Get an amazing Bonus item too!

This is especially nice if you finally get your bonus gold from 3 months ago and couldn't afford the bonus set when it was active - but now that you finally got your Gold - you can pick which LE set - or LE Bonus item - you want to go for.

It used to be that once an item was no longer available for sale under the "Special" tab - you could never buy it again - thus those of us with a Chocolate Sub or an Irish Fighter are proud to own these "never again available" items that could help date how long a person has been playing MW - but after the LE Bonus Program was active - I am pretty sure you can buy any of those LE units by finding it in someone else's profile - the "Buy" button will be active on those items - but the original LE items from back in the day - the "buy" button is not active.

One LE Item I passed on (would have been my 1st Gold purchase) was the 2 legged Robot Walker - I was so sad I didn't buy it - and was teased by seeing it in other people's inventory for a very long time - THEN it became a scratcher item - and now loads and loads of people have them. I hope then never dilute the Chocolate Sub or Irish Fighter pool - although now the stats on those items are hardly above a common Boss prize - but still - if you don't have a Chocolate Sub - naner naner naner - you can't get one!

Gree has obviously missed the boat on introducing NEW Special Limited Edition (Never Available Again) Holiday LE Items for Christmas / New Year's / Valentines Day / St Pats Day / Memorial Day / 4th of July / Halloween / Thanksgiving. THESE Highly collectible items could even somehow display the Year on it - so if you got a Valentine's day LE from 2012 - no one else could get it if they weren't in the game back then. It adds a bit of a "collectible" aspect to the game and makes some units more valuable than their stats - just saying.

Good Luck with your Gold spending!

Happy hunting!

Hank.

Composite Factory upgraded to level 10 gives 20% boost to your defense stats. Composite Factory is the best 250 gold value in the game.

Depending on how much gold you buy being in the right faction and spending (an appropriate amount) on med packs can exceed the value of the other discussed items.

In light of yesterday's information from McGurt, there is no value in gold. Literally none. If you've bought it like I have, you should feel cheated, swindled, wronged.

It takes about that time to get gold from tapjoy -missing gold?
Got only automatic emails and answered with invoice numbers As told.
Thought that playing casino games would be Almost free, if thinking that i would have bought gold straight.
Many weeks ago, no gold, no real answers. Not even double casino money for first deposits.

The new LE set aid really cheap and it gives you a chance for some good units
