Looks like The Top Guilds didn't boycott just like I said they wouldn't :p

GREE punk'd them with extra awards.

I'm sure the extra rewards are aimed at the lower placing guilds. None of the new ones even have stat bonuses or other perks.

I don't know about you Raist, but a lot of the people I'm talking to aren't spending, or are spending less, or are using their reward system gems only. So I wouldn't dismiss it all just yet. See what the scores look like at the end of the war.

I concur Sir Marcus. Bonus gems work just as well as newly purchased.

Boycott would fail for many reasons. Main one being guilds don't trust each other because opportunism prevails. Other reason being peer pressure within guilds. Another reason is the mouth-watering rewards. And then there is the problem of addiction. Certain members are even begging Gree to take their money and provide more content (I won't mention names *cough* proc... *cough*).

Now if all the guilds could form a union against Gree and host their own forum, things could change. But Gree has turned every one of you against each other. Without an alliance, how can this giant be tumbled?

There can't be a boycott. There are thounsands of players who don't even know about this forum, how could they be aware of something like that. And even if they somehow learn about it, they would always love the oportunity to be high ranked in a war.

Good point. I hope you are correct. :-)

Easily done. We have a Guild Forum, and it would only take me two seconds to add a new room for that. We already have an open area from just talking about KA in general.

Boycotting seeks gain in the long term and it's uncertain whether the objectives from boycotting will be accomplished. Spending offers instant gratification and players have been spoilt by it.

Between the two, the pick is obvious.

What boycott? :rolleyes:Was never going to happen. GREE knew it, that's why talks were ceased... Not that they were actually really happening in the first place. Just another stall tactic.

Lol, well depends on what they boycotted... I know a lot of the top 10 guilds haven't bought gems... I also know that there are plenty of players in FUN are are so stocked up they didn't need to buy anymore haha.

So, maybe in the top 10 guilds there have been many who have stuck to their word as not bought. Others who were dry on gems obviously bought, but saying the boycott failed when we really don't know the ins and outs of what took place in the discussions is probably not quite on the mark.

I think the top guilds knew that a boycott of the guild war wldnt achieve much, because really...who wants to hand the top spots to the hacker and free guilds. I do know that not many top players bought gems during the box event... Especially due to our knowledge of the player who won it.

I can confirm too that there are many top players who will depart this game after this event and once all their gems are depleted... So in reference to everyone saying 'I knew this wldnt work' what many haven't actually seen is how much GREE has lost over the past month due to players boycotting buying gems. That's more important for the top guilds than boycotting the war.

Look at the current Top 10 score. Path way down from the 10mil you would have expected given the 20% regen.

Dragons Roost

1. 32mil
2. 25mil
3. 15mil
10. 9mil

Dwarven Mines after 2 days

1. 23mil
2. 18mil
3. 8mil
10. 5mil

Given that we are only 2/3 of the way through Dwarven Mines, gem spending looks pretty much linear within the top guilds, albeit of course the few guilds that have had enough (like us) have dropped down and been relpaced by new suckers (or new hackers perhaps I should say given the number of Top #50 guilds right now with 60 members, props once again to GREE here).

What makes me smile the most regarding this is the likes of FUN, and all of the talk pre-war, especially when certain members were temp banned from the forums and claimed the last straw etc etc.

How people choose to play games and what people choose to spend is 110% that individuals prerogative, it just makes me smile is all reading the inevitable rants during the wars on the forums :)

Ps. You expect 20% regen to increase #10 from 9 mil after 3 days to 10mil after 2 days? Bearing in mind that 7-8mil of the 9 comes from gem spending, 20% health regen really doesn't have a hugely significant impact.

Blade, from what I know of FUN, thu have plenty of gems without the need to buy any, so it's no surprise to me that thy will still win

The trend is quite clear. Players that procrastinate their departure from the game; the players that excuse themselves by saying "I'll leave at the end of this war" or "I'll leave when my gems are depleted", are the players that end up being even more glued to the game.

Because honestly, if a player is dead-set on departing from the game for good, they would not even bother with the current war or any gems they have remaining.

A boycot... dear barbara..

*shakes head*

Forumtrolls on strike shouting about boycot.. sounds pretty much like unemployed people in the unemploymentline not happy with the unemployedperdicaments and decides to go on strike.. or for that matter Potsmoking fratboys deciding to go on a nonsmoking strike to stop the world production of pot..

I dont want to spoil the odds for the betting people but a boycot from a handful of unhappy gamers is not gonna make or break anything.
-yer chanceless.

Careful gang, think of what happened to our favorite on the MW side.
Good things can happen, just got to word it right on the forum is all.

Spending is definitely down this event, but we will have to wait 12 hours to know for sure.

Also got to remember there were a lot of people who brought big during the 40% sale since not only was it a big sale but it was the last chance to get in on the old bonus program.

I am certainly seeing a lot more people go free or quit once they run out of gems/gold (more speaking MW since it has been going longer so people are starting to run out now) but depending on amount they have in stock it can take quite some time before they run out and it is actually noticeable. I went free in MW 2 months ago but will still be another few months before I run out of gold and it is actually noticeable to others.

Yes, my KA games are going better than MW.
My newer GREE accounts are surpassing my oldest accounts.
It's weird that the more you level up, the worse you get. (Sort of).

I started to notice on day 2 of the current battle that whenever I defeat monsters in any of the game areas gold pieces mysteriously disappear, both when I change area, press the protect button in my vault or just every couple of seconds while defeating more monsters. I have been cheated out of at least several thousand gold pieces this way in the last two days alone. I sent an email to support about this, but apparently it will take a while before they can reply. I also noticed that at irregular intervals a couple of experience points get subtracted from my total number earned, like 3 or 4 at a time. Has anyone else experienced the same thing?

I've had the problem with gold, but haven't been fortunate enough to have the "problem" with XP being subtracted ;).

That's because even if the top guilds stoped playing, no one else wld stop.
However, I know some top guilds haven't putchased gems. That's really the only way to stick it to GREE. Boycotting the event wld only benefit the hackers.

Got to love a boycott that sees the opposite result! Points higher than ever for tenth place! And same teams!

Can still hear GREE laughing!

Those guilds didnt boycott. They were never going to boycotts he event or gem buying...only the top guilds didnt buy.
This is because the little guilds don't realise or are ill informed of what's happening behind the scenes with GREE. They will realise they have wasted their money very quickly.
Hackers are moving forward now... And GREE is falling apart. Get off the train while you can peeps... it's only a game involving 2D pixels. Take your team and community else where.

Remember, the game is advertised as being FREE! So those if you who want a refund, simply write to apple stating that the company uses false advertisement to lure you in. Go get your money back!

Are you sure you do not need glasses because there was a considerable difference in scores and ranking ( no pun intended )
And the top guilds besides fun almost all joined in.

Always look at dates on posts. This thread is a month old and is referring to the battle for the Dwarven Miines, not the battle for Darkhome. When there was a "boycott" for the dwarven mines it was completely unsuccessful. But when it came to Darkhome there was a significantly less number of gems spent. Just do a little more research before you start laughing and pointing fingers at people. So when this was posted:
