Mighty Mammoth Mayhem 1 Quest Issues

Anyone else having issues completing this quest? You are supposed to engage in 10 tournament battles in a single day. I can get to 5/10 tournament battles but as soon as I engage in another battle the counter starts over at 1/10 battles. Anyone else noticing the same thing?

Do the first 5 battles. go farming. come back to arena when back to full energy. then do the next 5.
All without going away from the game.
