Spend On the unit that increases your stats the most at the least quantity. I'm a colonel too, but I recently found that the expert attack drone was the best bang for the buck, for me, bc of the number of low power units I was still bringing to battle. That doesn't mean the same unit is for you.

It depends on your flag and what you want to achieve. The expert attack drone (ground) with 46/30 and for 500 points its an excellent choice to increase attack. The fortified artillery (ground) 30/51 900 points is good for defence.

You need to consider casualty rates too, especially if you're a high level as you'll be pounded in WD events. For example, an Expert Attack Drone has a 0.4% casualty rate, compared to that of an Elite Water Cruiser with 0.15%. With 350,000 valour you'll be able to buy a lot of either of these, so you'll be bleeding units very quickly.

The lowest casualty valour units are:
Coastal Helicarrier, 6500V, 0.053%
Counterstrike Torpedo Boat, 2500V, 0.070%
Shadow Fighter, 3200V, 0.084%
Armageddon Drone, 7200V, 0.090%
Stealth Assault Cruiser, 840V, 0.094%

You should also take into account your boosts and nation - you may find that a lower stat unit would be best in terms of incremental gains if you take into account boosts. For example, my boosts are best for ground and then sea, so the boosts stats for these units are far better than those for infantry or air units.

Where do you get these rates from?

You can get them from the plist files using iExplorer, or from the Modern War toolkit which has them in much more accessible format.

When unlocked I think the siege battle tank is the best out of all, they're cheap compared to the eternity fighter, carry some decent power but best of all have a very low casualty rate. Think like this for 100 valour you could buy one avenger with 12 ATK or 4 jungle talkers which total to 16 ATK, the only problem is the units you can actually then bring in, that's why I said the tank.

I had 1370 attack drones durring battle for ireland and was the defense leader. I was in around 525 fights and i only lost 5 drones total, i dont know what that % comes out to but i could live with that loss.

Randy - how many were you actually bringing to battle though? The base stats which make it into my army are 27/41, which implies that EADs would not be showing up in defence for me.

Those are the raw casualty rates too - you may have a similar modifier to me:
-10% Hospital
-10% Top 500 Prize from Egypt
-2% Black Shark Helicopter (LTQ)

Making the 0.4% casualty rate a net 0.318%.

Until recently, the expert attack drone, hardened marine, and mlrs all were horrible when talking consumption rates.

When I had any of them, in 525 fights, I'd lose 300 of them. In fact at one point I had over a thousand of all of them combined. I'm down to maybe 5.

Jon, how can you tell what the lowest units youre taking to battle are? Is there something in game that tells you this, or did you manually count up your top 2000 units?

A lot of this can depend upon what type of player you are as well. If you purchase gold units or have won a lot of indestructible units, the consumption rate may at least appear to be higher because you may have fewer units that you actually have a possibility of losing in battle.

From a pure DEFENSE stand point - the Boat is still the best bang for your buck! I just made Spec Ops in Ireland - so I am building up on the Tank too for offensive reasons - but carrying 800 of the boats helps a LoT :)

Jon, how can you tell what the lowest units youre taking to battle are? Is there something in game that tells you this, or did you manually count up your top 2000 units?an easy way to get a good idea on what is your lowest unit - check your stats - but a unit - see how much your stats move. Remember - you will be replacing the lowest unit - so if your new unit has 50/50 stats but you only notice a 14/18 shift - then the bottom unit you dropped has 36/32 stats.

I think the super hornet for attack and the elite water cruiser for defense the new valour units are terrible for how much you spend

Super hornet for air, expert attack drones for ground, hardened marine for infantry

Personally I check my attack and defence scores, drop one ally and then check them again - obviously only works if you are under 500 allies. The lost A/D divided by four gives the boosted stats of your lowest unit. I then use some internal GSF wizardry, namely our internal spreadsheet, to work out the A/D gain from any new units.

Actually it would be giving an average of the lowest 4. If you knew the statistical deviation you could go out 2 standard deviations and be close to what the lowest unit was.

I credited the reader with enough intelligence to be able to work out that this was an average; kind of obvious wasn't it? This is a quick and easy approach, there are more accurate ways, but not as quick.

Thanks for clarifying though.

i consider dual blaster to be a good one as it gives you attack and defense
