I want to find out about you, if your dead wood then burn baby burn. I have my own fires that I'm filling and I owe the rest of MGB some troops that will stay on for more than an hour!!!
If you spend gold, its a bonus, not mandatory, but if your a free player and not earning between 30k/50k wd points per event as a free player your not playing hard enough.
