Wth Gree running 3 games that alot of players playing all parts the potential to price your players out of the game is a bit of an interesting move on the half of gree.

real people have only a limited amount of money availiable to spend gaming.

The business model has to look to the 100,000 players spending 20 a war rather than the 1000 that spend 2000.

I think if gree were to look at there accounts for the period that they ran MW and KA on the same weekend it would show a reduction in spending compared to weekends when they were run serparate.

you have the chance that their players just run out of money if you run events every 2 weeks.

once a month i could afford - but if all 3 go every 2 weeks. i cant afford to double my spending - and i am not sure that most people could afford to in the current economic climate.

I think you miss the point. People are willing to spend money if its worth it to them. When they spend that money, they have expectations. People aren't complaining because they spent money they didn't want to spend. They're complaining because they spent money, and are not getting what they paid for. Unit modifiers that don't work for example. Also, its amplified by the fact that they've spent countless hours playing and paying and it would seem nothing is being done about the hackers/cheaters.

For me, it was a lot. I have terrible luck with these events. For one of my fourtunate guildmates it was 10 tonics in 12 boxes. There is no definitive answer to that vaguely posed question.

Using a 228 box as a reference : that's 228 x 40 gems (20 to open 20 to reset timer) per which is 9120 gems on the opening, and that's certainly not including the energy refills required to farm the boxes, which using my own data, is about 6-10 boxes per refill, call it 8, 228/8 is 28 refills and change, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you started from full energy and to make the math easier and say you bought 25 energy refills at 20 gems per which is 500 gems. For a cost of ~10k gems. There, now you know. And that's one data point, I remember reading about a guy trying to get the bow spent 22k gems and didn't get it. There's never a guarantee just an increasing likelihood.

I've burned through about 35-40 stamina w/o a single box from pvp. How frequently are you getting them?

About 1 an hour, I've just been draining stamina (on the first target I can find) for them. It sucks, but I need my energy.
It's also been helpful that every single mob of the LTQ has dropped a box.

if you dont get the tonic or honor or gold or whatever other prizes the boxes remain unopened . so if you get the sorry message you will have the same amount of boxes

Try a high level map. I got all of my boxes from Glacial Pass . The monsters there had a 100% box drop rate for me

Look under the event info button in game. It states that the event gets harder as you progress. So yes it does get harder towards the end. But Gree does not manipulate the event at all. Its just chance. Like in this event i have already recieved 6 tonics out of 9 opens. Very good odds there. But on the last event like this i couldnt even get 1 until the last day. Its all chance. Just keep trying at it and you'll get them eventually. Good luck!

I guess it's a norm that the difficulty goes higher as you reach to the last few Tonics.
Just like how they did to the Cupid's bow.
But it all depends on how valuable is the last 10th Prize.

For those with prob getting boxes.
Close KA completely.
Turn off device turn back on.
Kill a LTQ mob to get it started, should be easy to get boxes from there.

You've got a good idea there echus14. -OP- Maybe try watching it closely. Watch to see if your getting 4 per minute like 4,4,4,4,4,4... (33%) or if its something closer to a 3 one minute 4 the next. 3,4,3,4,3,4,3,4,3... (15%) or possibly a 4,4,4,3,4,4,4,3... (20%)Let us know! that way we can get even more excited about it if it is truly a 33% boost or if its a 20% factored in. Thanks in advance.

Press on for the prize for those of you who are close. Like I said earlier got my first 9 out of 12 boxes. The last one took forever but well worth it. Faster energy means less spending on LTQ....well a little less. Plus with the LTQ weapons (level 35, 37, 39 on heroic) that means more damage as well. So again I say press on.

I hit 10/10 in both MW and KA on low level accounts:

14 boxes opened total for 10/10 level 16 char in MW 4 tries/2 sorrys on chip 10
&
18 boxes opened total for 10/10 level 23 char in KA 6 tries/3 sorrys on tonic 10

No gems needed, both within 48 hours of the event start...
maybe (lower level = higher drop rate)?

Guys, it's never been constant odds. Ever. It's always always been a 1% chance or less to get the last box. If you get lucky, you got lucky. Since then....no potions found, only honor and " better luck next time" , only positive side of the opened boxes with honor is that I can buy some extra units again,...let see how the last hours will turn out....maybe I'm lucky...and otherwise we continue again with the new LTQ :)..

Opened the first one with gold and the subsequent 50 with gems (I really hate the "Sorry" message because GREE isn't :D ). Did a few resets to avoid excess Tonic Chests pilfered from me in overnight raids. Total gem cost was 1000 in Magic Key opens + 60 in resets = 1060 gems.

Got mine, took around 40 tries after the 9th, which I got on my first gem open. Got it with xx hours and 20 seconds remaining if anybody wants to see if this is done on a time of click mechanism. Personally I think Gree are keener for people to get this one; drives the addiction, and you are going to level up quicker, if you don't normally complete LTQ's. Though of course, it has been sporadically stated by THE moderator that Gree are n't bothered about whether you level up or not.......

I got my tenth yesterday late morning. I didn't count how many tries I made but I only opened one with gems (and got a tonic from it). I opened all the others with gold, and only reset the timer twice (plus once by accident 3 minutes before it would have been ready :/ ). But I really wanted that Apothecary, and refuse to buy more gems until it is clear Gree is doing something to stop hackers and hacker guilds and recompense guilds displaced from their rightful positions that hacker guilds took from them... so I did what I could for no gems - I opened a box very nearly every single hour. Including by setting my alarm to wake me up every hour during the night. The more times you try, the more chance you have to win.

Score! Just got my 10th tonic, 20 gems used. Sadly, I have 87 boxes to open, but quite happy to not HAVE to try and open to finish this event. :cool:

Good luck to all, as that truly is what it comes down to. Even when buying/using gems, it is luck.

Some perspective: On this event, I attempted to open 1 box about 10 times a day. Today it was only 5 attempts, though I could have done 10. Last event it was closer to 14 attempts a day, every day, and that was a longer event, and I got the 10th three hours before the end of the event. So that one was about 70 attempts, this one was about 35. I used 100 gems the first event; 20 this event (accidental time reset, as I was going to try and go no-gems at all).

I hate these quests. Damn this is such a good prize though. I have spent 1230 gems so far since getting my eight tonic and have not gotten number 9 yet. Very frustrating!!! This is my first time spending on a box event, and if I dont get this, I will probably never invest in a box event again!! Demoralizing~

i did as with cupids bow, i let the event run fulltime without gems and if it had proven to be worth it (wich it did) and gotten to 9/10 without gems i did the finishingrush with a small amount of gems.
Cupid about 60 gems and this tonic about 60 also^^

If (by this morning) the amount had been lees than 9/10 i wouldnt have bothered

I will never ever spend gems on these fu..king box events again. Although the reward was really very tempting it just makes more sense to spend the money on pve. Cause there you know for sure what u get.

Just feel comforted that in a 4 day event, it only gives you an extra days worth of energy regen, so about 3-4 energy refills. Or 80 gems. At an average price of 1k gems, it would take 12.5 LTQs for an ROI. And that's assuming they don't just jack up the energy costs to compensate.... Wait.... Nah, they'd never change the quests after releasing a way to make them easier... Looks at new hero weapon .... Sighs.

Anyhow, I wonder about the 20% quicker energy. Is that only the energy it takes to hit enemy monsters or does it also increase 20% on the PvP energy and the energy in war battles?

That would be absolutely stupid if GREE did that. That's not really a 20% faster energy recovery. That's a sometimes 100% and sometimes 120% recovery rate. While it theoretically averages out to be the same over time, it's still not the same. Just like how 6+6 equals the same thing as 3x4, but they are not the same equation.

Also, you have to take into account the times that energy is not being regenerated. That throws the whole sometimes 3 and sometimes 4 equation out of whack.
