Question for all of you who are much smarter than I:

What is the purpose of the defense buildings? I mean, do they merely boost overall defense stats or do they in some way actually increase the defense of buildings within their range?

If they do increase the defense of buildings within range, anyone know the formula of how this works?

Thx

Short answer - to give you a false sense of security. In fairness, it also gives towers from which your hero can survey his whole kingdom (all that ceaseless walking is very tiring).

They do add to your defence stats, but their effect is so low (especially in these days of stat hyper-inflation), that you can effectively discount them.

they should add to the area defense radius they cover, but it adds to the value of the buildings.. and if the buildings have a crap defense to begin with you will probably not notice any difference unless you do an extended survey.(check hello kitty's sticky about base info of moneybuildings)
and the difference will most probably show up in more casualties from the guys raiding you, not in an increase of wins.. the %'s are too low.
