Does defense buildings help against attacks or only raids

Both I think, I attacked this guy with 100 less defense than my attack lost to him, then I looked around saw that I was in the range of his minefields, so I waited until he moved out of the area and banged him for 3 million

Currently, according to the battle calculations, buildings are ONLY included when raiding, not straight attacking (fix for the fluctuating battle scores we have seen previously in the battle screen)

Do defense buildings also add to your total defense score?

Seems to me given their stats they aren't worthwhile and with some of these current events where you need to find and destroy low level def buildings it's much smarter to sell them off if you are in the higher levels.

Only when being raided, for now.
