The gold is much better spent elsewhere. This website and others that can be googled provide plenty of players codes to invite. It's a bit more work but unless you're rich it's not worth it.

Go to crimecitymafiacodes.com and add every number! Those people are looking for mafia just like you. Just like you most of them are too lazy, or too short on time, to type the numbers into the invite screen. Nike! (Just Do It!) You can come back the next day to a 50-100 mafia increase.

^^ yes, very good website. I use it all the time. I like to post my code and let others invite. I'm lazy.

Just posting your code there once a day easily keeps my mafia maxed.

Also, posting to Facebook's Crime City page gets you about a dozen adds each time too--but it lets your IRL friends know that you care about this game way too much, so its a trade-off (unless you go to the trouble to build a bogus profile for FB).

If 15 gold isn't a big deal then yes it's worth it. You'll get a gauranted 50-60 requests.
