Getting Crates in PvP or PvE?

Used to be able to raid/attack, but can't seem to get any more that way. Do you have to steal them still or is it random drop? Do you guys tend to do missions for them more or attack others?

PVP was always the most reliable route for me. Can't do that anymore, so I've been hammering the early mission maps. Got one so far, lol. Usually, by now I'd have at least a dozen or more.

Have 15 i've gotten from PVP. About 200 attacks. I just hit a target 3x and if it doesn't drop a box move on to the next one. (note most of the time i raid so you don't have to attack the person)

Also i'm pretty sure it's random. I believe when these events first came out they had to have a box to steal...but at some point it changed because i get boxes right when the event finally releases and attack people who haven't eve collected their 24 hour buildings who still give me a box.

I've been able to get them from low level mission personnel. At first they are a bit slow to drop, but as the days progress, I've found that the drop rate gets better.

At least that's my experience thus far.

I get them about every 3 attacks as well and I have 35 plus the 5 I already opened. It appears to be random just like the game is now.
