As promised, here is the analysis from completing LTQ. I hope cj54/Gree take note of and consider implementing the recommendations. I also hope others who have finished to either end of normal mode, or hero mode, post their analysis too.
MW LTQ Analysis
Total gold spent: 1,320
Total levels gained: 7
Total units lost: greater than 2,553
Net change in A/D (after spending valor made in LTQ to replace valor units)
Starting A/D: 172,612 / 205,758
Finishing A/D: 163,831 / 203,123
Net loss: (8,781 / 2,653)
Significant units lost
571 Expert Attack Drones lost
65 Stealth Bombers lost
50 Brigand Lightnings lost
41 Elite Water Cruisters lost
20 Transport raiders lost
19 Super Hornets lost
10 Railgun Destroyers lost
9 Aircraft Carriers lost
Opportunity losses:
- moved my valor missions significantly forward, so valor is harder to get
- leveled up beyond 151, so boss events are a misery now.
Recommendation to Gree for this event:
This event was unfortunately tainted by 3 negative factors: (a) the event splash screen did not indicate that you needed to complete both normal and hero mode to obtain the largest prize; (b) the time was significantly reduced due to technical problems; and (c) unit losses are ridiculous and caused a likely reduction in stats. Potential gains consumed by replacing units. With respect to the above, I recommend this:
1. Gree address technical and splash screen issues prior to next event (in progress per CJ54)
2. Gree attach a 20% 'casualty reduction' bonus to the Dominion Tank (won after finishing the LTQ in normal mode), since the most valuable units were lost first. Matching a casualty reduction with the significant casualties in this part of the event seems logical.
3. Gree attach a 30% lower upgrade cost bonus to the Dominion Ultra Tank (won after finishing the LTQ in hero mode), to assit players build their IPH so they can afford replacement units and defensive structure upgrades.
4. 2000-3000 unit losses is ridiculous. I appreciate the casualty rates didn't change (per CJ54), but when attacking unit and defensive structures there is clearly a different calculation happening. I won't argue the calculation is right or wrong, but from my perspective 2553 casualties is too many (and no, I'm not saying 0 is the right answer either - I do expect to lose units)
5. Be careful with quantities, especially of 24 hours buildings. It was horrible searching for munitions depot's and military markets.
Recommendation for Players:
1. You need 50 stamina to maximize gold.
2. You're going to see casualties in a whole new way.
3. I came out behind ... I expected I would, and treated this more as an interesting 'full scale beta'. I didn't feel I'd be able to credibly provide advice to Gree without completing the full run.
4. I went above 500 allies since at my bracket I find there are more rivals there, and it allowed me greater chances of finding rare buildings.
5. The levels I've gained will essentially preclude me from winning the 35 boss event prizes unless gree changes the 151+ tier and/or I recoupe my a/d losses and am able to improve. This lost opportunity is significant.
