Camping VS. Leveling

With the new rival system is it just better to LVL. I've never camped but it seems that in the old system I would be approaching the whale zone. Right now Im lvl131 370k atk 340k def 325 allies. I see people with 180-600k Atk/def most 300-400.
Now if I try and stay here and lvl up my bldg stronger players can find me and take my gold. If I LVL up the same thing will happen, but I will have more Energy for the LTQ and more strength to finish quicker and less energy. So it seems a no brainer to LVL up. Am I missing something?

Dracos, I'm going against what I see others doing and am diving head first into the whale zone. The sooner I jump in, the sooner I can come out on the other side and be one of the "whales" every fears enough to quit leveling up. I want to be feared, not be the one who fears.

That, and, like you, I want the extra energy and HS so I can go further in LTQs and earn even more of the high end units.

I agree! I am higher level that Dracos, with lower stats. Do I feel I am in whale zone? No, not yet! I can raid most at my lvl, and do a good job of staying over vault.

But remember those at 200 can see all the way down to 147 now !WHY is beyond me as I can not see up for those 40+ levels remaining , giving the top feeders more to feed on but we in lower can not return the favour unless they attack you, what's the go with that Gree ! Good for 1 but not the other... Looking out for the top players hope their paying you well, give us the same oppurtunity ! Just remember we have teeth also !
I can only see around 8 levels , but they can see 50+ surely there are more players than 50 or so between 150 and 200 . Why why why !! That just low on Gree's part

Oh, I know. I keep well undervault and collect on my buildings almost immediately, so even if they do attack me, they won't get much if anything.

So the real camping lvl would be 146.
So if I want to upgrade my bldgs I should do it before then.

See the rivals list thread. Who knows what it is any more, and it seems to vary by person.

I believe camping should be the strategy if you think you will get stronger by upgrading your buildings and buying armor and weapons. Or maybe you simply choose not to advance in the game. But at a certain point you will reach a diminishing return and that is when you should change your strategy and lvling up.

Do you enjoy being $h!tted on by whales? If so, then proceed to level up.

Or you could rack up some significant credit card debt and be a whale yourself. But may I warn you, the upkeep cost of being a whale is high.
