View Full Version : Shark Levels reaching down to lower levels for PVP attacks and Raids

A while back the Rival list for those under 150 was changed to generally match the rival list matchup for level below 100 - within about 10 levels of your own.

Okay, I understand the reason. I was in the shark tank before that. Before that change we could at least see rivals at the highest ranking and still elect to raid or attack based on their stats. We no longer have that option.

Can someone explain why Level 190 to 230 people can reach down to a lower level about 50 or more less than they are, but we can't reach up to their levels. Lately I have been getting attacked by level 230 players, which is a new situation since the change in rival lists.

Seems rather one sided to me. I'd rather have the old shark tank back, at least we had a larger pool of rivals.

Level 146

It's not the attacks that irk me, that's just part of the game, its the fact I can't now get up to their levels, but they can reach down.

CJ explains it in this thread: http://www.funzio.com/forum/showthread.php?47864-My-rival-list-just-exploded

Basically they decided to break it on purpose and see how bad people hated it. :)

Oh good lord, but 86 levels lower.....

That is bloody ridiculous. At least when you could see the higher levels it let you know you were in the tank.

Thanks. I've read some of that Post before...... Oh well, another adjustment to make

Maybe the higher levels ran out of people to raid. With the introduction of the high payout limited edition buildings being easier to obtain at lower levels they wanted a piece of that action and complained.

Player population at the higher levels are relatively low while population at the lower levels are much higher. So in order for the higher level players to have a battle list as populated as that of lower level players, they need to be able to see much farther down.

If the high level players could only see players within a small range of levels from themselves on their battle lists, their battle lists would be quite empty. There's plenty of high level players...that's not the issue.

Gree is encouraging everyone to have max allies now that hiding from high ally count players is not possible by reducing your own ally count.
The thing is, those people with high ally counts have a choice if they want to reduce their allies to go after lower allied players. You can easily delete and add 400 allies in a day if you want. At least the other way, everyone had a choice.

Exactly Phil. It's bad enough that a 200+ can attack a 150, but atleast even the playing field and let the 150's see the 250. If I can't see them, why should they see me? Just stupid....

N they are making the casualty rate real high even if u have a level 10 infirmary. I just got hit by 2 players n lose at least 15 units in 20 attack. N when I attack some one with 20% of my stats I also lost some high value units.

Now it does, except you open yourself up to higher casualties. The main reason I went lower allies was to reduce my cas rates when PvP'ing. Now I'm in the process of allying up. I still will not be able to fend off the whales, but at least some of the players that are hitting me now won't be able to touch me. I should end up around 135-145k def by the time I hit full allies. Feel free to add me. 705 684 908. The other problem with the recent change is I became the ideal target. At lower allies, I haven't had to worry about anybody beating me. Built my IPH to over 2.5 mil, now I can't protect it against whales. Oh well. It is what it is.

High ally count players can already attack low ally count players without the need to shave allies. With that in mind, it only makes sense to aim for a high ally count.

Sorry, I meant to say had a choice (before they "fixed" the rival list)

because they want to attack others without getting attacked themselves.
