AD 4428 gives "Defence: 20,105" when raiding?

I did raid a level 72 player with low stats AA 4200 and AD 4428 and 32 allies.
My AA is over 33,000
Can anyone please explain why I have lost a lot of good units raiding this guy and why a kept getting "Defence: 20,105" at every raid????

Do they have a lot of defense buildings or a lot of income buildings that are upgraded? Each building also has a certain amount of defense added to it, and as they are upgraded that number increases.

If they have all of their skill points in defense, that will also help their number out.

4k def being boosted to 20k seems kinda fishy. I'd send a ticket.
