View Full Version : A one time skill reset would be nice. Or even as a bought item.

Some of us have spent a lot of time and yes some amounts of gems on the game before realizing the true aspect of what skills do.
Having the ability to do a 1 time reset of skills during the life of the account.
Or a limited time special at the Gem store, for an Amnesia Scroll, that is available to purchase from time to time.
We wouldn't want it to easy to do or have always available the one time thing is nice.
A scroll that is available for purchase randomly once in a blue moon would be good as well.
What do you guys think?

With a statement like that, it is usually best served with a link or reference so people know what you are talking about. :P
That's a great idea. But I'd rather Gree unrestrictedly sell these so-called 'amnesia scrolls' for an exorbitant price of no less than 25,000 gems each.
After all, a grand item should command a grand price.
you do realize that 25000 gems=1470 euro's?
i'd rather buy a used car.

Oh, you mean that it'll never happen?
It was implemented into another game, caused him a headache worse than Winstrol & I reading some of the forum threads. And, that he would never want to deal with that aspect of gameplay.
Ever.
Again.
OP - stop whining about your current allocation of skill points. Level up and you'll get plenty of new skill points you can allocate where you feel you need them. Want even more skill points? Then master the maps and you'll have even more.

It's here... http://www.funzio.com/forum/showthread.php?47129-Your-Kingdom-Age-Wish-List/page2
I know how the A/D system works, and it does actually sway a lot of fights (#1 reason for thousands of "Why did I lose to this guy??" tickets). Which gets us into one of the issues with skill respecs: every stat you DON'T have is desirable, and this will continue to be the case after a reset.
We realized fairly early on with the games that regular skill point resets would make the job of balancing things completely impossible. If we had a big complicated skill tree like some games, sure. But we don't, we have four skills and each one actually does something decent.
That being the case, over a year ago we DID grant everyone in the original Crime City webgame a one-time skill reset. BIG mistake. Huge. My first job here when I was hired was to handle the hundreds of threats and pleading for another skill reset that came in on a daily basis. It was insane. Pretty much everyone, when they got the reset, put all of their points into what was important to them right that moment, and then when new features came out that emphasized another skill... yeah. So that's why the current "no skill resets" rule.
It's not impossible though, the game may get to a point where skill resets would not cause the balancing issues.

Many thanks Q-ball. It makes a lot of sense what CJ is saying. Everybody wants the specs that they don't have at the moment. I'm pretty sure that if everybody would respec att/def points to hero strength, soon there would be a strong reason to respec again.

I think the balance between campers/speedplayers/gemplayers/funplayers is warped enough already.. so being given the possibility to speedlvl to 198 by pve and then respecing pure pvp just to torment your fellow players is not the way it should work in this game.. weave seen that in enough mmorpgs already.
No respecs.., rather being given the opportunity to start a second character or even restart the game.
but hey.. thats just my 2cents..

jonny0284 ~ I have read some of your posts and you offer some good advice and info to people at times, props and kudos on that. Looks like you have a lot of wisdom you could share.
But I have to say that your wisdom is unbalanced by your need to flame people that are trying to get an understanding of something or that are trying to share a view point.
But hey if it's your style and you like it stay with it.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I thought as a child, I behaved as a child: but when I became a man, I put away my childish things.
No amount of Gems can buy you maturity, but you can earn it for free.
You have given me some sound reason and good advice in the past thought it only fair I do the same for you.

The Internet is not huggy feely unicorn land!!!!!! If you get flamed there was most likely a reason, especially from a senior member of the forum that knows his **** and can back it up with data. Learn from your errors, get wiser, and above all, dhdhrhxnendhddhdjjxkxebshajmsod READ THE FORUM!

LOL, I may be a Senior Member which typically comes from Post Count and doesn't mean I've earned respect; either here or in game, but I can say that I've brought forth my own personality. This is 100% a game and its community.

A lesson on the Internet is not the same as a lesson in real life. Everyday, people, coworkers, fellow students, friends & even family members are flamed by one another. However, I'm solo'd out because it's easy to identify the situation ( and often my intentional humor, stab, poke and actual intent ) which is to make one aware that if, and that's the key word, they'd choose to engage in a Search, read up, read back, anything... They wouldn't have asked the typically dumb question in the first place.
However, I appreciate your cause, but I refuse to accept that I'm being childish. And, of course, I know that gems don't buy maturity. So, don't insult me with such words, either.
I have always responded to PM's with utmost courtesy & information. So, again, I refuse to believe that my flaming is dentrimental to the public forum.
What I ask of you is; to not side with the lazy, newer members who do not wish to search for their answers, but rather encourage them to seek guidance. Not a new thread/old topic. Not a thread hijack. Not insulting those who have paid dues ( not in Gems) but with time, presence and insight. Feel me?
Jonny has a sarcastic personality that you just have to acquire the taste to but he has also always been quite helpful. I have a friend in the real world who's personality basically mimics Jonny's and I find it very humorous most of the time (he downplays people in situations where it's necessary to be serious sometimes though). I'm more of the straight forward facts and helpful person here I guess though I must admit I've had to urge many times to just be sarcastic for the fun of it, haha.
Jonny I actually started that FAQ's thread because of you when I saw that hero bug thread. I admit it gets tiresome (annoying sometimes) answering the same questions over and over again. I also realize that sometimes it's just hard to find those answers in previous threads and some will be too lazy to look hard enough. I personally used the search function quite a bit when I was new to avoid redundant questions.
