Guild Donation

There are several posts asking how to track guild donations. More specifically, how to ensure an individual is contributing what they say they are contributing and to lying about the donation amount. For example, posting that they donated 50K gold while donating only 25K, or simply not donating anything.

The most common solution is to assign a "Guild Treasurer" and to have him or her perform spot checks. This solution is faulty since the Treasurer cannot continuously check the guild chat and ensure 100% accuracy without reconciling every donation to the Giild Bank total.

A simple solution is to have each guild member post the donation amount with the beggining and ending Bank Balance. For example when donating 50K gold the post could look like the following: 2,000K+50K=2,050K. The subsequent person donating 100K, would post 2,050K+100K=2,150K. (Guild members have to be able to do math)

If some one lies about the amount they donated, the next person donating will see that the ending balance does not equal to what the guild bank says and can report the person to the officers. Long story short, the ownership of tracking this goes to the entire guild, not just one officer.

Is an acceptable idea, but tedious for gold donator to waste time with this. Only few guilds care how much or even would check anyway. Only if gold goes up do they care.

It's a solution, but omg... we will need to setup a legal company and start paying people to do all this administration :).

Soon (don't ask me when, but it is only logical it wont take another year) the feature introduced in MW will be available also in KA. This feature posts automatically that somebody donated and shows the amount. That solves the 'lying' about if something was donated and how much was donated. It doesn't solve questions as... how do i see how much somebody did donate today, this week, in total.

The real solution is to play with people that you trust. And then verify with color coded spreadsheets. And screenshots. :) we have a guild subforum set up here and I just post the before and after screenshots there. Irrefutable I win button. Especially since it also shows MY before and after balance on the same screen. Everyone wins.

The faction I'm in on MW actually requires the screenshots in their forum here, for every member. But they're very competitive, if you don't care about top rankings, it's not worth the effort.

As if just keeping track of donations wasn't bad enough. Now you have to worry about people lying about their donations? Good thing I am not a guild leader =p hopefully they implement a tool to track donations in game soon.

Adding the Faction Alert to KA would be great. Creating a separate tab for this information to go into would be awesome.

Agree with Shinazueli that the basic issue is playing with people who are honest and whom you can trust. The FKs have been fortunate in that we have some great recruiters who have strong links with players whom they know, so the chances of this happening are much reduced. Still appreciate that this luxury is not available to every guild, so an evidential trail may be required.

Agree with VileDoom that the mentioned improvements would be respectively great and awesome ... which probably means that we won't see them for a loooooong time :D lol

I'd rather they didn't add that feature UNLESS they added a separate tab. It's so bad a post is gone in an hour with a large guild.

Ideally the Developers would alter the Members list to show total Gold and Stone donation for each player. I'm guessing the information is already to hand, as it warns that your donation record will be lost if you leave the Guild, so a few min's UI work in their next development sprint would solve the problem, and save the Chat containing little else other than donation posts.

Not very hard, but I don't think their software developers are too talented or just slow/understaffed. Funny that it seems they might be understaffed considering the amount of money it seems GREE is actually making off these simple function games. I think the guy who founded/runs GREE just doesn't like spending much on employees

I'm sure that we soon will see a donation log - a member list with total donations from each member.
It has been requested by so many what they have to make it.
It is the only right solution

It seems they have implemented the automatic donation message feature now. Just saw it happen after I made a donation. Unfortunately for those who requested it, it is in the main chat and not in a separate tab
