WD Egypt: Small change to rewards

Hey all, due to a technical necessity we have to make a slight change to two of the rewards:

Tech Assisted Sniper - 10% Energy Regeneration CHANGED TO 10% More Defense from Infantry

Pharos Submarine - 10% More Defense from Infantry CHANGED TO +1 Energy Regeneration

The in-game rewards screen will be updated to reflect this change as soon as possible.

wow this sucks big time. So disappointed with this change. Who on earth wants more defense from infantry. should make the cash increase top 100 instead because that is 100 times better than infantry defense. Heck, I say they take out infantry defense and give something a little more useful

Thank you CJ for posting this instead of surprising us all again when the WD event started. While some are upset with the changes, I, am very happy with the communication. I'm sure many are also.

Agree. Some factions actually structure their strategy around which rewards to get....then Gree changes stuff last minute it kind of doesn't make any sense and I dont buy the "technical Issue" excuse at all.

Why get rid of the top 4000 prize? It's another unit everyone above that will get anyhow. I say keep it, at least give it to people who attempt to compete.

This prize level helps almost everyone and also gives newcomers to the game something to fight for. Let's face it, everyone who is worth anything is already in a faction they are comfortable with and won't go to that level anyhow. Let the noobs have something to band together and fight for. What's the harm in that? It encourages advancement.

Yup. I want this unit so bad and am SUPER angry they just made it a top 25 unit. Now I have to for sure whip all my troops into gear. We're positioned to do a lot better than in Greenland, plus we were locked out for the first 13 hrs.

We have space for 1 or 2 more out of 50. Must be a gold buyer and score at least 65k WDs. PM me.

I agree. It gives the no, light, and moderate gold buyers some appreciation for playing. Why limit the prizes to only the top 50 factions that pay thousands of combined dollars to get there? That's why the pvp events are pointless for 95% of the factions. They simple can't compete financially. Keep prizes for the top 4,000.

Shoot. Plus 1 energy regen is HUGE! Especially if you like to farm for units and cash. Its 33% energy regen perma buff. Choose Iran flag and now you have 43% regen to your Energy.

If this was a technical issue that has to do with the "10% Energy Regeneration". Then wouldn't it make more sense to just switch it with the solution +1 Energy Regeneration. By doing this it wouldn't take anything away from your original top 100 promised award and not upset anyone.

haha - people get so excited about such small things - so the pixels you'll be getting for finishing top 25/100 will be slightly different – all the complaints about the infantry defence being inferior to energy regen seem way off the mark to me; anyone who’s completed a few boss events will have a lot more infantry units in their army than they realise; if you’ve also ever spent money on crates then you’ll have even more.

Personally, I think the energy regeneration is less valuable than the infantry defence boost – so should be the prize for a lower tier; as someone who is trying very hard not to level up to quickly I do very little PvE attacks, as do most people that I know in-game. The energy regeneration bonus only really seems valuable to people in the “whale zone” who are Lvl 150+, there’s no point trying to keep your level down once you’re up there after all – so you may as well do PvE farming.

Finally, you’d be amazed at how competitive the ~250 faction battles are – the only reason my LLP’s faction got into top 250 was a concerted last day push with all members really stepping up – a decent prize will mean that the numerous factions within reach of 250 are more likely to spend a little gold to get the boost; I applaud your business acumen Team Gree – converting free players to light gold players is the beginning of the slippery slope :)

Thank you for the communication on this change. I suggest in future, once you have published the WD event rewards, you don't make changes to them. Ensure you only have tried and tested rewards as changes to them only upset people. I understand the change was due to a technical issue, but I seriously doubt the reward swap was due to a technical issue and the only issue was with the Energy Recovery as a %.

I hope you take this advice on board for future WD event rewards and you avoid changes at all costs once published.

I totally agree with what Dutchie has said.

But at the same time - ladies and gents, information about this change came up two weeks in advance before any actual event happening.

Some are saying we won't compete for top 100. So be it. Most important is that you know for what you are competing and you can plan your actions. Two weeks in advance - there were times when forum veteran members would not even dream about such communication.
