A little break from syndicate's.
I thought the thread that was started ages ago asking what level 10 buildings everyone has was cool for economy geeks.
So rather than necro a thread I thought I would start a new one so here goes.

My level 10's are

Ice cream shop x 2
Pizza Parlor x 2
Italian restaurant x 2
Souvenir store x 2
Loft x 2
Church x 2

Bodyguard agencies x 2

Not sure what my next ones will be. Probably Movie theatres but they have been level 8 for over a year.

I was going to start this thread (again) after I finished another set of level tens. Clearly it's taking just a bit too long. Oh well!

I'm thinking my next level 10s might be my Rock Cafes. Or Upscale Clubs, but I don't really want to spend $900,000,000 and four weeks on those at this point. I could bank a few billion for my syndicate if I did that though. But almost a billion dollars on Upscale Club upgrades... Yeah, I don't know about that.

Do those MTs. They're long overdue and you'll never have to think about them again. That's what motivated me to do them.

I got those Frosty Hideout's to lvl10 (3x). I know they are easy to do, and that's exactly the reason why I did it! :D

Many lower output level 10s in my hood, I just can't bring myself to sell them after investing so much time on the upgrades! 2 of each, from memory...

He means that upgrading any defence building to level 10 is a pointless exercise and you've repeated it 6 times.

I have 3 Frosty Hideouts at lvl 10. Nothing else really over lvl 6 but that will change as the long upgrades will help with the savings for NC's.

I can't bring myself to sell the lower tier Level 10 buildings either

I have:
2x L10 Basketball Courts
2x L10 Pizza Parlors
2x L10 Souvenir Shops
2x L10 Tattoo Parlor
2x L10 Houses

But except for the Basketball Courts the $/hr/square isn't awful on these buildings.

I also have 2x L9 Movie Theatres and 2x L9 Italian Restaurants. They will probably both be L10s soon while I save for the next couple Nightclub upgrades.

I know these dont pose any great iph increase but we spent the time upgrading them! I know so many people who said they wished they had kept their "downtown" buildings - for nostalgic value if nothing else!

But that's just because I only started playing December.

I'm fascinated by the economy in this game and have put a lot of thought into it--recently I calculated the most profitable upgrade level over a 180-day period under a semi-realistic collection schedule for all money buildings and cheap gold buildings. Turns out if you're interested in maximizing 180-day profit, relatively few buildings should go to level 10. Basically just the Type A buildings, but not Lofts (peak profit is at level 8) and Nightclubs (peak at level 6).

Of course if you want to maximize profits over a longer time frame, those numbers will go up... but maximizing profit over an infinite time frame (i.e. maximizing IPH) is, I think, a huge mistake.

I can't justify leveling a pizza shop to level 10. For one it takes to long and second the returns just don't show on paper.

MT's have been stuck at L7, going to invest the 357 hrs each to finish them off.

I think Dominicans are among the best tradeoff between cost, time, and benefits - if you're obsessive about taking something to Level 10 the Dominicans are worth a look.

Thanks...I finished mine 2-3 months ago, all done without gold to speed up the upgrade times. There are a handful of players now with x2 NCs.

That may be the case but the nightclubs are thus far untouchable as their IPH increase is second to none. Anyone who doesn't think NCs are worth building or upgrading to L10 should think again especially after the new cash weapons were released today. All the previous talk of in-game cash being useless is not so true anymore (and before anyone else mentions it, I myself have said as much previously, although I never assumed it would always be the case). Also with the syndicate bonuses needing billions to purchase, the strong IPH players (see Billionaire's thread) can puff up their chests ;)

I expect we'll see some new cash buildings sometime soon, if the changes in MW are used a reference point.

And all those idiots with nothing but defence buildings and no IPH are an even bigger laughing stock now.

PS I expect to be robbing a lot more NCs in the future :p

Level 10s are almost never worthwhile, except maybe for Laundromat. It takes on the order of years for ROI of most buildings even assuming perfect collection.

corbaman, the ROI for a Level 10 Nightclub is actually somewhat reasonable if you have a couple bonuses. The standard ROI would be about 495 days (assuming you collected 2.5 times per day and didn't have any bonueses). So if your upgrades cost 30% less and you have the 10% Goodfella bonus, plus the +25% income from your syndicate, the ROI drops to well under a year. And that doesn't even take into account people that can actually collect 4 times a day or even 3 times a day because their defense is so high.

Similar situation for Lofts and Movie Theatres (about 205 and 140 days, respectively, without bonuses)

I kinda wish there was a "collect all" feature for the money buildings. I'm getting tired of clicking on all these building for the cash especially of that annoying "you've been robbed sign"

They're "easy" because they are relatively Cheap and Fast to upgrade in relation to their iph gained.
