Valentines LTQ level jump.

Now that the Valentines LTQ is over, I'm curious how many levels it caused people to jump in search of the 9k unit, whether completing it or not. Also curious how many people ended up with the bow from the box side of the event. Gem cost may be interesting as well.

Just went after the bow. Up 1 level PvE'ing to get boxes. Had a shocking box drop rate actually.
Mostly gem open to not f around once I did get them. Spent ~500.
Got the bow a couple of days ago.


Didn't go in for the big event. The early word was that it would add too much exp.
I've got to get my dragons first. Nearly there, then it'll be Quest Ho! ;-)

I rose two level (97 to 99).
Yeah, the box drop rate was almost 1:1, however it was ungodly how many boxes I had to open.
I think it was 15 boxes for the first 7 arrows, 30 boxes for the 8th, and 50 boxes for the 9th, and 900 gems worth for the 10th.
I had 63 boxes still left over too. Funny though, I rose 212,000g from gem box opening...

I don't know why players are so afraid of levelling up. Levelling up gives you more skill points. Skill points gives you more hero strength. Hero strength lets you get further in the quests, earning free units faster and with less effort. It's a win-win. Every time you have a chance of getting a unit better than a dragon, take it. In a world full of campers, there's only one way to go. Full speed ahead!

I went from level 118 to 123.

We all have our play styles. Some race to the end, some stroll. As far as the Hero Points go, they will be there when you get to the next level tomorrow or next week. I tend to take my time leveling to maximize the time it will take me to get into blue whale territory. Also, more time to upgrade buildings before you have to worry about the rising percentage of rivals who can catch you over vault and capitalize on it. Again, we all have our strategy and there are downsides to both fast and slow pace.

I went from high 30's to low 40's. I completed the first two levels, but got tired of waiting to re-energize and the third level was too much of a stretch with no pre-defined ending (destroy until you find whatever). Previous LTQ's were more generous to newbies like me. Some of my level increase was due to working the maps and raiding to get boxes. Opened boxes until I was blue in the face, but wound up with 4 out of 10 arrows. But you know what someone once said: "Lucky at opening boxes, unlucky in love". That is why I made a special someone breakfast on Valentine's Day; in case I did not get the bow, I would at least keep the girl.

I went up 4 levels, got to the end of challenge 6, saw that challenges 7 and 8 would cost at least $200 and stopped.

What really annoyed me was the opening rate for the valentines boxes. I opened 14-16 per day with gold, sat on 9/10 for literally 2.5 days. Got to the last hour of the event and started using gems to open. 1100 gems later, I got the last one.

Level 97 I think when I started, Level 105 when I finished. There was no way I was going for heroic mode, normal was bad enough.

Like jonny0284, I was pretty lucky on the box side of this event. I got the bow with a few days to spare. Worth saying it was all Gem opening. Got to 8 within the first 2 days, 9 and 10 I believe took another 12 or so opens. All in all, not bad.
As I mentioned before, I avoided the other part of the quest to keep from leveling to fast. I hit the first Orc Raider once and saw what little damage it did, so I pulled up the forum here and decided to pass on it altogether after reviewing the stats posted by senior members.

Went from level 80 to 82 on the LTQ, completed until the cottages raid.
Stuck on 7/10 arrows, so no bow. Spend no gems either.

Once I had sat on 9/10 for a few days with no luck I tried some gems. On my last gem open available (was not purchasing more for this) I got the tenth arrow. Spent 240 gems to get it so 12 gem opens no resets. Only 8/10 on the quest playing without gems this time.

Gained one level from 155->156, just completed the first 6 events as there was no way to defeat 12 Hell Hounds as a free player.

Was able to get the tenth arrow with about 2 days to spare using just gold, no gems.

Gained 2 levels I think, 89 - 91, and made it to the Hellhound quest. So got a few units to replace Dragons for free. No dice on the bow though. Random # generator wasn't in my favor there :p

I went up a couple of levels. Probably would have a couple of more if I went for the last 2 parts of the quest after I got the bow.

IMHO, I think part of the concern some people may have with leveling up is not being prepared for it in some way - maybe not good enough defense, maybe concern not have high enough attack, or just enjoying being in the lower levels, camping, growing into a beast.

I myself had some of those concerns, until I maxed in dragons and realized that if I don't start heavily participating in these LTQs and boss events, I would never be able to grow. It would be impossible, as the only units available that are better than dragons are from direct gem purchases, or events.

As for the Bow, 100% Gold (Free) and I had it with nearly 1.5 days left. :D

I've gotten the 10th item in OT before, but it was in Crime City. Very first OT open too, so idk if luck was on my side, or if other circumstances were in place haha.

I level up from 91 to 93. Got my 10th arrow on the last day with about 8 hours to spare; all with gold (free) open. Finish main even level 6. Had to spend 20 gem for the last refill to complete level 6 since I got lazy and kind of gave up until I received the bow, lol.

I went from like 65 to 71. I'm (for now) a free player, and noticed after killing one of the twelve Orcs that this part was of the LTQ is not for me. But I captured almost 100 Valentine boxes doing normal quests. I used always money to open them, of 60+ tries I think I got just under half opened. Of them I got nine arrows, but not the last one needed for the bow. :(

Money-wise it was still a good, I got more from the boxes than I spent in opening them + the addition to honor, used for cannons. Thrice I got 20k :) plus twice 15k in addition to the smaller ones.

I went up one level, but I gave up on the quest after killing two Minitors - they were just too powerful and I was not sure the cost of spending jems was worth the units in the end. I did, however, get the bow using only gold and only after about 25 (or less) box openings :)

Leveled to 148. Killed one orc and stopped that quest. Got to 9 arrows with 2.5 days to go with gold. Continued with gold until the last day then did 11 straight gem opens (220 gems) but didnt get the 10th.

Didn't even bother with the LTQ as I started at level 29. Levelled up to 30 and got the bow. Amazing weapon for a level 30 I'd say haha.

Up 12 levels after doing both sets of quests. Those hellhounds were the worst....
Have put in a request to the developers to go easy on the exp points for each hit...

I went up 2 levels or so up to 50 and decided to stop on step 3 of the ltq as the leveling didn't seem worth it. I did get the bow using only gold opens so that was nice.

Heh. You will be surprised on 130+, when players with 200 level attack you every time when you have unvaluated gold or uncollected manors.

I too usually go for buildings instead of people. If I attack people now, it's either because they have over 400k gold on them, or I'm triggering a boss fight.
The amount of exp / levels that would be gained from this LTQ definitely kept me away from it. I figured it would jump me 8 levels or so for a 9k unit where as a boss event costs me maybe 1 to 1 1/2 levels with a 3000 or so average units upgrade (I only go up to kill number 30). Guess it depends on how you look at it and what your strategy is.

At first I wanted to take it easy, only going with the gold option on the box event. Didn't really want to go past the second subquest of the In the Name of Love LTQ, either, apprehensive of the potential level gain. But when after about 50 opens I chanced upon 7 arrows, the Bow started to appear attainable... Break out the gems. Another ~40 boxes brought me the remaining 3 arrows (and the Bow) - and pushed me past the point of no return. After so much effort, I had to have the Valentine Warrior:

1040 gems for the Box Event (3 last arrows)
3780 gems for the LTQ (second half of subquest 6, subquests 7 and 8)
4820 gems total (3.213 x Mountain of Gems)

No qualms about the gems/money spent. But I do have a major gripe with the XP BURN I suffered - from mid-50s to mid-70s. Shot up 21 FREAKING LEVELS! For one event! Come on, GREE... The monsters were tough, which is understandable for a 9K unit prize. But IMO the XP values should've been at most half of what they were.

On the bright side, the levels attained boosted my paltry Hero Strength from 47 to 76.

SERIOUSLY? It doesn't happen and I'm level 141.
I think it started at level 135-138. I was raided 10-20 times by players on level 160-180-200 and of course I didn't attack them.

I rose one level cause I stopped the one quest after step 4

I got the 9th arrow with 2 days left and thats was it for me. Only sorry/money/honor from then on. opened over 40 boxes and spent even about 300 gems for the 10th arrow.

I´m a bit dissappointed :(

I leveld once from 162 to 163 and didn't spend any real money (Diamonds).

I played and beat the "Possessed Minotaurs" 6/8 quest, after which I stopped and didn't hit a single "Hellhound Guard" as I read in the forums how difficult it would get and wasn't willing to invest in diamonds.

As for the "Valentine Box Event": I got my ninth arrow with about 2 1/2 days left and got my tenth arrow with 12 hours left in the event.

All in all a great co-event in my opinion and a great weapon (Cupid's Bow) to have.
